That

بِأَنَّ

(is) because

bi-anna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

لَمْ

not

lam

يَكُ

yaku

مُغَيِّرًۭا

One Who changes

mughayyiran

نِّعْمَةً

a favor

niʿ'matan

أَنْعَمَهَا

which He had bestowed

anʿamahā

عَلَىٰ

on

ʿalā

قَوْمٍ

a people

qawmin

حَتَّىٰ

until

ḥattā

يُغَيِّرُوا۟

they change

yughayyirū

مَا

what

mā

بِأَنفُسِهِمْ ۙ

(is) in themselves

bi-anfusihim

وَأَنَّ

And indeed

wa-anna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

سَمِيعٌ

(is) All-Hearing

samīʿun

عَلِيمٌۭ

All-Knowing

ʿalīmun

٥٣

Dios no quita a ningún pueblo las gracias con las que lo ha bendecido, a menos que éste se corrompa [en sus creencias y valores]. Dios todo lo oye, todo lo sabe.

Like (the) way

وَٱلَّذِينَ

and those who

wa-alladhīna

مِن

قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ

before them

qablihim

كَذَّبُوا۟

They denied

kadhabū

بِـَٔايَـٰتِ

(the) Signs

biāyāti

رَبِّهِمْ

(of) their Lord

rabbihim

فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُم

so We destroyed them

fa-ahlaknāhum

بِذُنُوبِهِمْ

for their sins

bidhunūbihim

وَأَغْرَقْنَآ

and We drowned

wa-aghraqnā

ءَالَ

(the) people

āla

فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ

(of) Firaun

fir'ʿawna

وَكُلٌّۭ

and (they) all

wakullun

كَانُوا۟

were

kānū

ظَـٰلِمِينَ

wrongdoers

ẓālimīna

٥٤

Por lo mismo castigué a la gente del Faraón y a quienes les precedieron, pues desmintieron los signos de su Señor y entonces les aniquilé por sus pecados: por eso ahogué a la gente del Faraón. Sabed que todos [estos pueblos] eran opresores.

Las peores criaturas ante Dios son los incrédulos, pues se negaron a creer,

aquellos que siempre quebrantan los pactos que tú [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] celebras con ellos y no tienen temor [del castigo de Dios].

تَثْقَفَنَّهُمْ

you gain dominance over them

tathqafannahum

فِى

ٱلْحَرْبِ

the war

l-ḥarbi

فَشَرِّدْ

disperse

fasharrid

بِهِم

by them

bihim

مَّنْ

(those) who

man

خَلْفَهُمْ

(are) behind them

khalfahum

لَعَلَّهُمْ

so that they may

laʿallahum

يَذَّكَّرُونَ

take heed

yadhakkarūna

٥٧

Si enfrentas a algunos de ellos durante la guerra, dales un escarmiento que sirva de ejemplo a quienes sigan sus pasos. Puede que así reconsideren.

وَإِمَّا

And if

تَخَافَنَّ

you fear

فَٱنۢبِذْ

إِلَيْهِمْ

to them

عَلَىٰ

سَوَآءٍ ۚ

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

لَا

(does) not

lā

يُحِبُّ

love

yuḥibbu

ٱلْخَآئِنِينَ

the traitors

l-khāinīna

٥٨

Si te traiciona un pueblo, hazles saber que rompes el pacto igual que ellos. Dios no ama a los traidores.

And (let) not

يَحْسَبَنَّ

think

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

disbelieve

سَبَقُوٓا۟ ۚ

they can outstrip

إِنَّهُمْ

Indeed, they

innahum

لَا

يُعْجِزُونَ

escape

yuʿ'jizūna

Que no piensen los incrédulos que podrán huir de Mi castigo. No tienen salvación.

And prepare

عَدُوَّ

(the) enemy

ʿaduwwa

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

وَعَدُوَّكُمْ

and your enemy

waʿaduwwakum

وَءَاخَرِينَ

and others

waākharīna

مِن

from

min

دُونِهِمْ

besides them

dūnihim

لَا

not

lā

تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ

(do) you know them

taʿlamūnahumu

ٱللَّهُ

(but) Allah

l-lahu

يَعْلَمُهُمْ ۚ

knows them

yaʿlamuhum

وَمَا

And whatever

wamā

تُنفِقُوا۟

you spend

tunfiqū

مِن

from

min

شَىْءٍۢ

(any) thing

shayin

فِى

in

fī

سَبِيلِ

(the) way

sabīli

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

يُوَفَّ

it will be fully repaid

yuwaffa

إِلَيْكُمْ

to you

ilaykum

وَأَنتُمْ

and you

wa-antum

لَا

(will) not

lā

تُظْلَمُونَ

be wronged

tuẓ'lamūna

٦٠

Preparad contra ellos cuanto podáis de fuerzas [de combate] y caballería, para que así amedrentéis a los enemigos de Dios que también son los vuestros, y a otros enemigos que aún no conocéis, pero Dios los conoce bien. Sabed que aquello con lo que contribuyáis en la causa de Dios os será recompensado generosamente, y no seréis jamás tratados injustamente.

۞ وَإِن

And if

wa-in

جَنَحُوا۟

they incline

janaḥū

لِلسَّلْمِ

to peace

lilssalmi

فَٱجْنَحْ

then you (also) incline

fa-ij'naḥ

لَهَا

to it

lahā

وَتَوَكَّلْ

and put (your) trust

watawakkal

عَلَى

in

ʿalā

ٱللَّهِ ۚ

Allah

l-lahi

إِنَّهُۥ

Indeed

innahu

هُوَ

He

huwa

ٱلسَّمِيعُ

(is) All-Hearer

l-samīʿu

ٱلْعَلِيمُ

All-Knower

l-ʿalīmu

٦١

Si [los incrédulos] se inclinan por la paz, acéptala tú también y encomiéndate a Dios. Él todo lo oye, todo lo sabe.
