A Él pertenece cuanto hay en los cielos y en la Tierra, lo que existe entre ellos y lo que hay bajo la tierra.

بِقَبَسٍ

a burning brand

أَوْ

أَجِدُ

I find

ajidu

عَلَى

at

ʿalā

ٱلنَّارِ

the fire

l-nāri

هُدًۭى

guidance

Cuando vio un fuego y le dijo a su familia: “Permaneced aquí, pues he visto un fuego y tal vez pueda traeros una brasa encendida o encuentre junto al fuego quien pueda indicarnos [el camino]”.

فَلَمَّآ

Then when

he came to it

Indeed, you

بِٱلْوَادِ

(are) in the valley

bil-wādi

ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ

the sacred

(of) Tuwa

Yo soy tu Señor; quítate las sandalias, pues estás en el valle sagrado de Tuwa,

(have) chosen you

Y Yo te he elegido; escucha lo que voy a revelarte.

for My remembrance

١٤

Yo soy Al-lah, y no hay más divinidad que Yo. Adórame solo a Mí y haz la oración para recordarme.

Indeed

ٱلسَّاعَةَ

the Hour

ءَاتِيَةٌ

(will be) coming

لِتُجْزَىٰ

that may be recompensed

كُلُّ

نَفْسٍۭ

بِمَا

El Día de la Resurrección es indubitable y nadie salvo Dios sabe cuándo llegará. Ese día cada alma recibirá la recompensa o el castigo que se merezca por sus obras.

يَصُدَّنَّكَ

(let) avert you

عَنْهَا

from it

مَن

لَّا

يُؤْمِنُ

بِهَا

in it

وَٱتَّبَعَ

and follows

wa-ittabaʿa

هَوَىٰهُ

his desires

فَتَرْدَىٰ

lest you perish

fatardā

No te dejes seducir por quienes no creen en la resurrección y siguen sus pasiones, porque serás de los que pierdan.

And what

تِلْكَ

(is) that

بِيَمِينِكَ

in your right hand

يَـٰمُوسَىٰ

O Musa

١٧

¿Qué es lo que tienes en tu diestra? ¡Oh, Moisés!”

He said

هِىَ

It

عَصَاىَ

(is) my staff

ʿaṣāya

أَتَوَكَّؤُا۟

I lean

atawakka-u

عَلَيْهَا

upon it

ʿalayhā

وَأَهُشُّ

and I bring down leaves

wa-ahushu

بِهَا

with it

bihā

عَلَىٰ

for

ʿalā

غَنَمِى

my sheep

ghanamī

وَلِىَ

and for me

waliya

فِيهَا

in it

fīhā

مَـَٔارِبُ

(are) uses

maāribu

أُخْرَىٰ

other

ukh'rā

١٨

Respondió: “Es mi bastón. Me sirve de apoyo y con él vareo los árboles para que mi ganado coma [de su follaje], además de otros usos”.

He said

أَلْقِهَا

Throw it down

يَـٰمُوسَىٰ

O Musa

١٩

Dijo [Dios]: “Arrójalo, ¡Oh, Moisés!”

فَأَلْقَىٰهَا

So he threw it down

fa-alqāhā

فَإِذَا

and behold

fa-idhā

هِىَ

It

hiya

حَيَّةٌۭ

(was) a snake

ḥayyatun

تَسْعَىٰ

moving swiftly

tasʿā

٢٠

Lo arrojó, y este se convirtió en una serpiente que reptaba.

Seize it

ٱلْأُولَىٰ

Dijo [Dios]: “Recógela y no temas, pues la devolveré a su forma original.

Introduce tu mano en tu costado y saldrá blanca, resplandeciente, sin

We conferred a favor

بِٱلسَّاحِلِ

يَأْخُذْهُ

will take him

yakhudh'hu

عَدُوٌّۭ

an enemy

ʿaduwwun

لِّى

to Me

lī

وَعَدُوٌّۭ

and an enemy

waʿaduwwun

لَّهُۥ ۚ

to him

lahu

وَأَلْقَيْتُ

And I cast

wa-alqaytu

عَلَيْكَ

over you

ʿalayka

مَحَبَّةًۭ

love

maḥabbatan

مِّنِّى

from Me

minnī

وَلِتُصْنَعَ

and that you may be brought up

walituṣ'naʿa

عَلَىٰ

under

ʿalā

عَيْنِىٓ

My eye

ʿaynī

٣٩

“Deposítale en un cesto y déjale en el río, que la corriente lo llevará hasta una orilla donde será recogido por un enemigo Mío y suyo [el Faraón]”. Desperté cariño hacia ti [entre los que te encontraron], para que crecieras educado bajo Mi observancia.

فَرَجَعْنَـٰكَ

So We returned you

farajaʿnāka

إِلَىٰٓ

to

ilā

أُمِّكَ

your mother

ummika

كَىْ

that

kay

تَقَرَّ

may be cooled

taqarra

عَيْنُهَا

her eyes

ʿaynuhā

وَلَا

and not

walā

تَحْزَنَ ۚ

she grieves

taḥzana

وَقَتَلْتَ

And you killed

waqatalta

نَفْسًۭا

a man

nafsan

فَنَجَّيْنَـٰكَ

but We saved you

fanajjaynāka

مِنَ

from

mina

ٱلْغَمِّ

the distress

l-ghami

وَفَتَنَّـٰكَ

and We tried you

wafatannāka

فُتُونًۭا ۚ

(with) a trial

futūnan

فَلَبِثْتَ

Then you remained

falabith'ta

سِنِينَ

(some) years

sinīna

فِىٓ

with

fī

أَهْلِ

(the) people

ahli

مَدْيَنَ

(of) Madyan

madyana

ثُمَّ

Then

thumma

جِئْتَ

you came

ji'ta

عَلَىٰ

at

ʿalā

قَدَرٍۢ

the decreed (time)

qadarin

يَـٰمُوسَىٰ

O Musa

yāmūsā

٤٠

Cuando tu hermana, que seguía tus rastros, le dijo [al Faraón]: ‘¿Acaso quieres que te indique a alguien que pueda encargarse de cuidarle?’ Y así te devolví a tu madre para que se tranquilizara y no estuviera triste. [También te concedí una gracia] cuando [involuntariamente] mataste a un hombre [del pueblo del Faraón] y te salvé de que tomaran represalias contra ti. Te he probado con pruebas difíciles. Luego permaneciste unos años en Madián y ahora has regresado aquí, tal como estaba decretado, ¡Oh, Moisés!

Presentaos ante el Faraón, pues se ha extralimitado,

ʿalaynā

أَوْ

or

أَن

يَطْغَىٰ

he will transgress

وَأَرَىٰ

and I see

Dijo [Dios]: “No tengáis miedo, pues Yo estoy con vosotros escuchando y observándolo todo.

فَأْتِيَاهُ

So go to him

فَقُولَآ

Indeed, we

رَسُولَا

both (are) Messengers

رَبِّكَ

فَأَرْسِلْ

so send

fa-arsil

مَعَنَا

with us

maʿanā

بَنِىٓ

(the) Children of Israel

banī

إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

(the) Children of Israel

is'rāīla

وَلَا

and (do) not

walā

تُعَذِّبْهُمْ ۖ

torment them

tuʿadhib'hum

قَدْ

Verily

qad

جِئْنَـٰكَ

we came to you

ji'nāka

بِـَٔايَةٍۢ

with a Sign

biāyatin

مِّن

from

min

رَّبِّكَ ۖ

your Lord

rabbika

وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ

And peace

wal-salāmu

عَلَىٰ

on

ʿalā

مَنِ

(one) who

mani

ٱتَّبَعَ

follows

ittabaʿa

ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ

the Guidance

l-hudā

٤٧

Id ante él y decidle: ‘Somos Mensajeros enviados por tu Señor, para que dejes ir con nosotros a los Hijos de Israel y no les tortures más. Hemos venido con un milagro de tu Señor. Quien siga la guía estará a salvo.

Indeed, we

قَدْ

أُوحِىَ

it has been revealed

ūḥiya

إِلَيْنَآ

to us

ilaynā

أَنَّ

ٱلْعَذَابَ

the punishment

عَلَىٰ

(will be) on

ʿalā

مَن

(one) who

man

كَذَّبَ

denies

kadhaba

وَتَوَلَّىٰ

and turns away

watawallā

٤٨

Nos ha sido revelado que quien desmienta y rechace [el Mensaje] será castigado”.

Then who

رَّبُّكُمَا

(is) your Lord

Dijo [el Faraón]: “Respóndeme, ¡Oh, Moisés! ¿Y quién es vuestro Señor?”

رَبُّنَا

Our Lord

rabbunā

ٱلَّذِىٓ

(is) the One Who

alladhī

أَعْطَىٰ

gave

aʿṭā

كُلَّ

(to) every

خَلْقَهُۥ

its form

khalqahu

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

هَدَىٰ

He guided (it)

hadā

٥٠

Dijo [Moisés]: “Nuestro Señor es Quien ha creado todo con una naturaleza particular y, luego, lo encamina [para que cumpla su destino]”.

Entonces, preguntó [el Faraón]: “¿Cuál ha sido el destino de las generaciones anteriores?”

Dijo [Moisés]: “Solo mi Señor lo sabe, y Él lo tiene registrado todo en un Libro. Mi Señor no se equivoca nunca ni se olvida de nada.

لَكُمْ

سُبُلًۭا

ways

وَأَنزَلَ

and sent down

مِنَ

from

mina

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

the sky

مَآءًۭ

water

māan

فَأَخْرَجْنَا

then We (have) brought forth

fa-akhrajnā

بِهِۦٓ

with it

bihi

أَزْوَٰجًۭا

pairs

azwājan

مِّن

of

min

نَّبَاتٍۢ

plants

nabātin

شَتَّىٰ

diverse

shattā

٥٣

Él nos dispuso la Tierra como un lecho [propicio para habitarlo] y nos trazó en ella caminos, e hizo descender agua del cielo para que con ella brotasen diferentes plantas.

Eat

وَٱرْعَوْا۟

أَنْعَـٰمَكُمْ ۗ

your cattle

إِنَّ

Indeed

that

dhālika

لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ

surely (are) Signs

laāyātin

لِّأُو۟لِى

for possessors

li-ulī

ٱلنُّهَىٰ

(of) intelligence

l-nuhā

Comed de ellas y apacentad vuestros ganados. En ello hay signos para los dotados de entendimiento.

۞ مِنْهَا

From it

min'hā

خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ

We created you

khalaqnākum

وَفِيهَا

and in it

wafīhā

نُعِيدُكُمْ

We will return you

nuʿīdukum

وَمِنْهَا

and from it

wamin'hā

نُخْرِجُكُمْ

We will bring you out

nukh'rijukum

تَارَةً

time

tāratan

أُخْرَىٰ

another

ukh'rā

٥٥

De ella [la tierra] os he creado, a ella os haré retornar [cuando muráis], y de ella os haré surgir nuevamente [el Día de la Resurrección]”.

And verily

walaqad

أَرَيْنَـٰهُ

We showed him

araynāhu

ءَايَـٰتِنَا

Our Signs

كُلَّهَا

all of them

فَكَذَّبَ

but he denied

وَأَبَىٰ

and refused

wa-abā

Le mostré [al Faraón] todos Mis milagros, pero los desmintió y rehusó creer.

He said

أَجِئْتَنَا

Have you come to us

aji'tanā

لِتُخْرِجَنَا

to drive us out

litukh'rijanā

مِنْ

أَرْضِنَا

our land

with your magic

bisiḥ'rika

يَـٰمُوسَىٰ

O Musa

yāmūsā

٥٧

Dijo [el Faraón]: “¡Oh, Moisés! ¿Acaso has venido a expulsarnos de nuestra tierra con tu hechicería?

فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ

Then we will surely produce for you

بِسِحْرٍۢ

مِّثْلِهِۦ

فَٱجْعَلْ

بَيْنَنَا

between us

baynanā

وَبَيْنَكَ

مَوْعِدًۭا

لَّا

نُخْلِفُهُۥ

we will fail it

نَحْنُ

[we]

naḥnu

وَلَآ

and not

walā

أَنتَ

you

anta

مَكَانًۭا

(in) a place

makānan

سُوًۭى

even

suwan

Nosotros te traeremos una hechicería igual que la tuya, solo fija un día para que tú y nosotros nos encontremos en un lugar y que nadie falte”.

مَوْعِدُكُمْ

Your appointment

mawʿidukum

يَوْمُ

(is on the) day

yawmu

ٱلزِّينَةِ

(of) the festival

l-zīnati

وَأَن

and that

يُحْشَرَ

will be assembled

yuḥ'shara

ٱلنَّاسُ

the people

l-nāsu

ضُحًۭى

(at) forenoon

ḍuḥan

Dijo [Moisés]: “Nuestra cita será el día de la fiesta, cuando la gente se congregue a media mañana”.

فَتَوَلَّىٰ

Then went away

فِرْعَوْنُ

Firaun

fir'ʿawnu

فَجَمَعَ

and put together

fajamaʿa

كَيْدَهُۥ

his plan

أَتَىٰ

came

atā

٦٠

Entonces el Faraón se retiró y se dedicó a reclutar hechiceros. Luego, el día de la cita, concurrió.

وَيْلَكُمْ

Woe to you

waylakum

لَا

(Do) not

تَفْتَرُوا۟

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

l-lahi

كَذِبًۭا

a lie

kadhiban

فَيُسْحِتَكُم

lest He will destroy you

fayus'ḥitakum

بِعَذَابٍۢ ۖ

with a punishment

biʿadhābin

وَقَدْ

And verily

waqad

خَابَ

he failed

khāba

مَنِ

who

mani

ٱفْتَرَىٰ

invented

if'tarā

٦١

Moisés les dijo [a los hechiceros]: “¡Ay de vosotros! No inventéis mentiras contra Dios, pues os aniquilará con Su castigo: Los que inventan mentiras acerca de Dios serán los perdedores”.

فَتَنَـٰزَعُوٓا۟

Then they disputed

fatanāzaʿū

أَمْرَهُم

(in) their affair

amrahum

بَيْنَهُمْ

among them

baynahum

وَأَسَرُّوا۟

and they kept secret

wa-asarrū

ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ

the private conversation

l-najwā

٦٢

Entonces, [los hechiceros] debatieron entre ellos acerca de Moisés, y deliberaron secretamente.

قَالُوٓا۟

They said

إِنْ

Indeed

in

هَـٰذَٰنِ

these two

hādhāni

لَسَـٰحِرَٰنِ

[two] magicians

lasāḥirāni

يُرِيدَانِ

they intend

yurīdāni

أَن

that

an

يُخْرِجَاكُم

they drive you out

yukh'rijākum

مِّنْ

of

min

أَرْضِكُم

your land

arḍikum

بِسِحْرِهِمَا

with their magic

bisiḥ'rihimā

وَيَذْهَبَا

and do away

wayadhhabā

بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ

with your way

biṭarīqatikumu

ٱلْمُثْلَىٰ

the exemplary

l-muth'lā

٦٣

Dijeron: “Estos son solo dos hechiceros que con su magia quieren expulsaros de vuestra tierra y acabar con vuestras nobles costumbres.

فَأَجْمِعُوا۟

So put together

fa-ajmiʿū

كَيْدَكُمْ

your plan

ثُمَّ

ٱئْتُوا۟

صَفًّۭا ۚ

وَقَدْ

And verily

waqad

أَفْلَحَ

(will be) successful

aflaḥa

ٱلْيَوْمَ

today

l-yawma

مَنِ

who

mani

ٱسْتَعْلَىٰ

overcomes

is'taʿlā

٦٤

[Oh, hechiceros de Egipto,] Decidid vuestro plan a seguir y, luego, acudid como un solo cuerpo: pues, ¡quien sea superior hoy, ha de conseguir prosperidad!”

They said

يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ

O Musa

إِمَّآ

نَّكُونَ

we will be

nakūna

أَوَّلَ

the first

awwala

مَنْ

أَلْقَىٰ

Dijeron: “¡Oh, Moisés! ¿Arrojas tú o lo hacemos nosotros primero?”

He said

بَلْ

Nay

bal

أَلْقُوا۟ ۖ

you throw

فَإِذَا

Then behold

fa-idhā

حِبَالُهُمْ

Their ropes

وَعِصِيُّهُمْ

and their staffs

waʿiṣiyyuhum

يُخَيَّلُ

seemed

yukhayyalu

إِلَيْهِ

to him

ilayhi

مِن

by

min

سِحْرِهِمْ

their magic

siḥ'rihim

أَنَّهَا

that they

annahā

تَسْعَىٰ

(were) moving

tasʿā

٦٦

Dijo [Moisés]: “Arrojad vosotros primero”. Entonces arrojaron sus cuerdas y varas y, por el hechizo que habían empleado, estas parecían moverse [como si fueran verdaderas serpientes].

فَأَوْجَسَ

So sensed

وَلَا

and not

walā

يُفْلِحُ

will be successful

yuf'liḥu

ٱلسَّاحِرُ

the magician

l-sāḥiru

حَيْثُ

wherever

ḥaythu

أَتَىٰ

he comes

atā

٦٩

Arroja lo que tienes en tu diestra, que anulará lo que ellos han hecho, pues solo se trata de una hechicería, y los hechiceros jamás han de triunfar”.

فَأُلْقِىَ

So were thrown down

ٱلسَّحَرَةُ

قَالُوٓا۟

They said

We believe

بِرَبِّ

in (the) Lord

هَـٰرُونَ

(of) Harun

hārūna

وَمُوسَىٰ

and Musa

wamūsā

٧٠

Los hechiceros [al percibir que el milagro que acompañaba a Moisés no era magia] se postraron y exclamaron: “Creemos en el Señor de Aarón y Moisés”.

He said

ءَامَنتُمْ

You believe

āmantum

لَهُۥ

[to] him

قَبْلَ

before

qabla

أَنْ

[that]

an

ءَاذَنَ

I gave permission

لَكُمْ ۖ

to you

lakum

إِنَّهُۥ

Indeed, he

innahu

لَكَبِيرُكُمُ

(is) your chief

lakabīrukumu

ٱلَّذِى

the one who

alladhī

عَلَّمَكُمُ

taught you

ʿallamakumu

ٱلسِّحْرَ ۖ

the magic

l-siḥ'ra

فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ

So surely I will cut off

fala-uqaṭṭiʿanna

أَيْدِيَكُمْ

your hands

aydiyakum

وَأَرْجُلَكُم

and your feet

wa-arjulakum

مِّنْ

of

min

خِلَـٰفٍۢ

opposite sides

khilāfin

وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ

and surely I will crucify you

wala-uṣallibannakum

فِى

on

fī

جُذُوعِ

(the) trunks

judhūʿi

ٱلنَّخْلِ

(of) date-palms

l-nakhli

وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ

and surely you will know

walataʿlamunna

أَيُّنَآ

which of us

ayyunā

أَشَدُّ

(is) more severe

ashaddu

عَذَابًۭا

(in) punishment

ʿadhāban

وَأَبْقَىٰ

and more lasting

wa-abqā

٧١

Dijo [el Faraón enfurecido]: “¿Acaso vais a creer en él sin que yo os lo haya autorizado? Seguramente él es vuestro maestro que os ha enseñado la magia. Ordenaré que se os amputen la mano y el pie opuestos y, luego, os haré clavar sobre troncos de palmera. Así sabréis quién es el que puede infligir el castigo más severo y duradero”.

They said

نُّؤْثِرَكَ

we will prefer you

nu'thiraka

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

مَا

جَآءَنَا

has come to us

ٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ

the clear proofs

l-bayināti

وَٱلَّذِى

and the One Who

wa-alladhī

فَطَرَنَا ۖ

created us

faṭaranā

فَٱقْضِ

So decree

fa-iq'ḍi

مَآ

whatever

mā

أَنتَ

you

anta

قَاضٍ ۖ

(are) decreeing

qāḍin

إِنَّمَا

Only

innamā

تَقْضِى

you can decree

taqḍī

هَـٰذِهِ

(for) this

hādhihi

ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ

life

l-ḥayata

ٱلدُّنْيَآ

(of) the world

l-dun'yā

٧٢

Dijeron: “No antepondremos nuestra lealtad a ti a los milagros evidentes que hemos presenciado, y [menos aún] a Quien nos creó. Haz pues con nosotros lo que has decidido; tú solo puedes condenarnos en esta vida.

إِنَّآ

Indeed, [we]

ءَامَنَّا

we believe

āmannā

بِرَبِّنَا

in our Lord

birabbinā

لِيَغْفِرَ

that He may forgive

liyaghfira

لَنَا

for us

خَطَـٰيَـٰنَا

our sins

khaṭāyānā

وَمَآ

and what

wamā

أَكْرَهْتَنَا

you compelled us

akrahtanā

عَلَيْهِ

on it

ʿalayhi

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلسِّحْرِ ۗ

the magic

l-siḥ'ri

وَٱللَّهُ

And Allah

wal-lahu

خَيْرٌۭ

(is) Best

khayrun

وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

and Ever Lasting

wa-abqā

٧٣

Creemos en nuestro Señor, para que perdone nuestros pecados y los hechizos que nos has obligado a hacer. La recompensa de Dios es mejor y más duradera”.

Indeed, he

جَهَنَّمَ

(is) Hell

لَا

Not

lā

يَمُوتُ

he will die

yamūtu

فِيهَا

in it

fīhā

وَلَا

and not

walā

يَحْيَىٰ

live

yaḥyā

Quien se presente ante su Señor siendo culpable tendrá el Infierno como castigo, en el que no podrá morir [para librarse del tormento] ni vivir [sin padecerlo].

But whoever

يَأْتِهِۦ

comes to Him

مُؤْمِنًۭا

(as) a believer

mu'minan

قَدْ

verily

qad

عَمِلَ

he has done

ʿamila

ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ

the righteous deeds

l-ṣāliḥāti

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

then those

fa-ulāika

لَهُمُ

for them

lahumu

ٱلدَّرَجَـٰتُ

(will be) the ranks

l-darajātu

ٱلْعُلَىٰ

[the] high

l-ʿulā

٧٥

En cambio, quien se presente ante su Señor creyendo en Él y habiendo obrado rectamente, obtendrá los más altos grados [en el Paraíso].

Gardens

jannātu

عَدْنٍۢ

(of) Eden

ʿadnin

تَجْرِى

flows

tajrī

مِن

from

min

تَحْتِهَا

underneath them

taḥtihā

ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ

the rivers

l-anhāru

خَـٰلِدِينَ

abiding forever

khālidīna

فِيهَا ۚ

in it

fīhā

وَذَٰلِكَ

And that

wadhālika

جَزَآءُ

(is) the reward

jazāu

مَن

(for him) who

man

تَزَكَّىٰ

purifies himself

tazakkā

٧٦

Morarán eternamente en los Jardines del Edén, bajo los cuales corren ríos. Esa será la recompensa de quienes se purifiquen.

And verily

walaqad

أَوْحَيْنَآ

We inspired

إِلَىٰ

مُوسَىٰٓ

بِعِبَادِى

with My slaves

biʿibādī

فَٱضْرِبْ

and strike

fa-iḍ'rib

لَهُمْ

for them

lahum

طَرِيقًۭا

a path

ṭarīqan

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْبَحْرِ

the sea

l-baḥri

يَبَسًۭا

dry

yabasan

لَّا

not

lā

تَخَـٰفُ

fearing

takhāfu

دَرَكًۭا

to be overtaken

darakan

وَلَا

and not

walā

تَخْشَىٰ

being afraid

takhshā

٧٧

Le ordené a Moisés: “Sal por la noche con Mis siervos, y abre [por Mi voluntad] el mar, dejándoles un camino de tierra firme [por donde puedan huir], y no tengan temor de que les alcancen ni tampoco de morir ahogados”.

فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ

Then followed them

fa-atbaʿahum

فِرْعَوْنُ

Firaun

fir'ʿawnu

بِجُنُودِهِۦ

with his forces

bijunūdihi

فَغَشِيَهُم

but covered them

faghashiyahum

مِّنَ

from

mina

ٱلْيَمِّ

the sea

l-yami

مَا

what

mā

غَشِيَهُمْ

covered them

ghashiyahum

Cuando el Faraón y su ejército siguieron [a los creyentes], el mar se los tragó.

And led astray

Firaun

El Faraón, en lugar de guiar a su pueblo, lo llevó al extravío.

O Children of Israel

إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

O Children of Israel

قَدْ

Verily

qad

أَنجَيْنَـٰكُم

We delivered you

anjaynākum

مِّنْ

from

min

عَدُوِّكُمْ

your enemy

ʿaduwwikum

وَوَٰعَدْنَـٰكُمْ

and We made a covenant with you

wawāʿadnākum

جَانِبَ

on (the) side

jāniba

ٱلطُّورِ

(of) the Mount

l-ṭūri

ٱلْأَيْمَنَ

the right

l-aymana

وَنَزَّلْنَا

and We sent down

wanazzalnā

عَلَيْكُمُ

to you

ʿalaykumu

ٱلْمَنَّ

the Manna

l-mana

وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ

and the quails

wal-salwā

٨٠

¡Oh, Hijos de Israel! [Recordad cuando] os salvé de vuestros enemigos, os cité en la ladera derecha del monte [para que pudierais presenciar Mis milagros], y os envié el maná y las codornices.

كُلُوا۟

Eat

kulū

مِن

طَيِّبَـٰتِ

(the) good things

رَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ

We have provided you

razaqnākum

وَلَا

and (do) not

تَطْغَوْا۟

transgress

taṭghaw

فِيهِ

therein

fīhi

فَيَحِلَّ

lest should descend

fayaḥilla

عَلَيْكُمْ

upon you

ʿalaykum

غَضَبِى ۖ

My Anger

ghaḍabī

وَمَن

And whoever

waman

يَحْلِلْ

on whom descends

yaḥlil

عَلَيْهِ

on whom descends

ʿalayhi

غَضَبِى

My Anger

ghaḍabī

فَقَدْ

indeed

faqad

هَوَىٰ

he (has) perished

hawā

٨١

Comed de las cosas buenas que os he provisto, pero no os extralimitéis, pues Mi ira recaería sobre vosotros. Aquel sobre quien caiga Mi ira será un desdichado.

But indeed, I Am

لَغَفَّارٌۭ

the Perpetual Forgiver

لِّمَن

waʿamila

صَـٰلِحًۭا

righteous (deeds)

ṣāliḥan

ثُمَّ

ٱهْتَدَىٰ

remains guided

Yo soy Perdonador con quienes se arrepienten, creen, obran rectamente y se encaminan [por el sendero recto].

And what

أَعْجَلَكَ

made you hasten

قَوْمِكَ

your people

يَـٰمُوسَىٰ

O Musa

[Cuando Moisés se presentó a la cita, Dios le dijo:] “¡Oh, Moisés! ¿Qué te ha urgido a presentarte dejando atrás a tu pueblo?”

وَعَجِلْتُ

إِلَيْكَ

to you

ilayka

رَبِّ

my Lord

rabbi

لِتَرْضَىٰ

that You be pleased

litarḍā

٨٤

Dijo: “Ellos vienen detrás de mí; solo me he adelantado para complacerte, ¡Señor mío!”

He said

فَإِنَّا

But indeed, We

fa-innā

قَدْ

[verily]

فَتَنَّا

We (have) tried

fatannā

قَوْمَكَ

your people

مِنۢ

baʿdika

وَأَضَلَّهُمُ

and has led them astray

wa-aḍallahumu

ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ

Dijo [Dios]: “He puesto a prueba a tu pueblo después de que los has dejado, y el samaritano les ha extraviado”.

Then Musa returned

أَسِفًۭا ۚ

(and) sorrowful

قَالَ

He said

يَـٰقَوْمِ

O my people

yāqawmi

أَلَمْ

Did not

alam

يَعِدْكُمْ

promise you

yaʿid'kum

رَبُّكُمْ

your Lord

rabbukum

وَعْدًا

a promise

waʿdan

حَسَنًا ۚ

good

ḥasanan

أَفَطَالَ

Then, did seem long

afaṭāla

عَلَيْكُمُ

to you

ʿalaykumu

ٱلْعَهْدُ

the promise

l-ʿahdu

أَمْ

or

am

أَرَدتُّمْ

did you desire

aradttum

أَن

that

an

يَحِلَّ

descend

yaḥilla

عَلَيْكُمْ

upon you

ʿalaykum

غَضَبٌۭ

(the) Anger

ghaḍabun

مِّن

of

min

رَّبِّكُمْ

your Lord

rabbikum

فَأَخْلَفْتُم

so you broke

fa-akhlaftum

مَّوْعِدِى

(the) promise to me

mawʿidī

٨٦

Cuando Moisés regresó ante su pueblo enojado y avergonzado, les dijo: “¡Oh, pueblo mío! ¿Acaso vuestro Señor no os ha hecho una promesa hermosa? ¿Acaso os parece que me he ausentado por mucho tiempo? ¿Acaso queréis que la ira de vuestro Señor se desate sobre vosotros, y por eso habéis quebrantado la promesa que me habíais hecho?”’

They said

أَخْلَفْنَا

we broke

akhlafnā

مَوْعِدَكَ

promise to you

mawʿidaka

بِمَلْكِنَا

by our will

bimalkinā

وَلَـٰكِنَّا

but we

walākinnā

حُمِّلْنَآ

[we] were made to carry

ḥummil'nā

أَوْزَارًۭا

burdens

awzāran

مِّن

from

min

زِينَةِ

ornaments

zīnati

ٱلْقَوْمِ

(of) the people

l-qawmi

فَقَذَفْنَـٰهَا

so we threw them

faqadhafnāhā

فَكَذَٰلِكَ

and thus

fakadhālika

أَلْقَى

threw

alqā

ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ

the Samiri

l-sāmiriyu

٨٧

Dijeron: “No hemos quebrantado la promesa que te hicimos intencionalmente, sino que cuando arrojamos al fuego las joyas del pueblo [del Faraón] que teníamos en nuestro poder, el samaritano también las arrojó,

فَأَخْرَجَ

Then he brought forth

fa-akhraja

لَهُمْ

for them

lahum

عِجْلًۭا

a calf's

ʿij'lan

جَسَدًۭا

body

jasadan

لَّهُۥ

it had

خُوَارٌۭ

a lowing sound

khuwārun

فَقَالُوا۟

and they said

faqālū

هَـٰذَآ

This

hādhā

إِلَـٰهُكُمْ

(is) your god

ilāhukum

وَإِلَـٰهُ

and the god

wa-ilāhu

مُوسَىٰ

(of) Musa

mūsā

فَنَسِىَ

but he forgot

fanasiya

٨٨

y fundió las joyas dándoles la forma de un becerro que emitía un sonido como un mugido, y entonces exclamaron [el samaritano y sus seguidores]: ‘Esta es nuestra divinidad y la de Moisés, pero Moisés la ha olvidado’”.

Then, did not

نَفْعًۭا

any benefit

¿Acaso no veían que no podía hablarles y no podía dañarles ni beneficiarles?

And verily

walaqad

Harun

hārūnu

مِن

قَبْلُ

يَـٰقَوْمِ

O my people

yāqawmi

إِنَّمَا

Only

innamā

فُتِنتُم

you are being tested

futintum

بِهِۦ ۖ

by it

bihi

وَإِنَّ

and indeed

wa-inna

رَبَّكُمُ

your Lord

rabbakumu

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ

(is) the Most Gracious

l-raḥmānu

فَٱتَّبِعُونِى

so follow me

fa-ittabiʿūnī

وَأَطِيعُوٓا۟

and obey

wa-aṭīʿū

أَمْرِى

my order

amrī

٩٠

Pero antes [de que regresara Moisés] Aarón les había advertido: “¡Oh, pueblo mío! Se os está poniendo a prueba con eso. Vuestro verdadero Señor es el Compasivo, seguidme y obedeced mis órdenes”.

we will cease

يَرْجِعَ

إِلَيْنَا

to us

ilaynā

مُوسَىٰ

Musa

mūsā

Respondieron: “No dejaremos de postrarnos ante él hasta que vuelva Moisés”.

يَـٰهَـٰرُونُ

O Harun

yāhārūnu

مَا

What

مَنَعَكَ

prevented you

إِذْ

رَأَيْتَهُمْ

ضَلُّوٓا۟

going astray

ḍallū

٩٢

Dijo [Moisés]: “¡Oh, Aarón! ¿Qué ha impedido, cuando viste que se desviaban,

تَتَّبِعَنِ ۖ

you follow me

tattabiʿani

أَفَعَصَيْتَ

Then, have you disobeyed

afaʿaṣayta

أَمْرِى

my order

buscarme [para informarme lo sucedido]? ¿Es que has desobedecido mi orden [de velar por ellos]?”

O son of my mother

بِرَأْسِىٓ ۖ

by my head

إِنِّى

Indeed, I

خَشِيتُ

[I] feared

أَن

تَقُولَ

you would say

taqūla

فَرَّقْتَ

You caused division

farraqta

بَيْنَ

between

bayna

بَنِىٓ

(the) Children of Israel

banī

إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

(the) Children of Israel

is'rāīla

وَلَمْ

and not

walam

تَرْقُبْ

you respect

tarqub

قَوْلِى

my word

qawlī

٩٤

Dijo [Aarón]: “¡Oh, hermano mío! No me recrimines agarrándome por la barba y la cabeza. Tenía miedo de que [si los dejaba para salir a buscarte] me dijeras: ‘Lo que has hecho es causar la discordia y la división entre los Hijos de Israel [al haberte ausentado], y no has cumplido con lo que te ordené’”.

Dijo [Moisés]: “Y tú, Samaritano, ¿qué has hecho?”

بَصُرْتُ

I perceived

بِمَا

لَمْ

يَبْصُرُوا۟

they perceive

yabṣurū

بِهِۦ

in it

فَقَبَضْتُ

so I took

faqabaḍtu

قَبْضَةًۭ

a handful

qabḍatan

مِّنْ

from

min

أَثَرِ

(the) track

athari

ٱلرَّسُولِ

(of) the Messenger

l-rasūli

فَنَبَذْتُهَا

then threw it

fanabadhtuhā

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

and thus

wakadhālika

سَوَّلَتْ

suggested

sawwalat

لِى

to me

lī

نَفْسِى

my soul

nafsī

٩٦

Dijo: “Vi algo que ellos no pudieron ver. Entonces tomé un puñado de tierra de las huellas que dejó el mensajero y lo arrojé [sobre las joyas cuando se fundían]. Así me lo sugirió mi alma”.

قَالَ

He said

qāla

فَٱذْهَبْ

Then go

fa-idh'hab

فَإِنَّ

And indeed

fa-inna

لَكَ

for you

laka

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

the life

l-ḥayati

أَن

that

an

تَقُولَ

you will say

taqūla

لَا

(Do) not

lā

مِسَاسَ ۖ

touch

misāsa

وَإِنَّ

And indeed

wa-inna

لَكَ

for you

laka

مَوْعِدًۭا

(is) an appointment

mawʿidan

لَّن

never

lan

تُخْلَفَهُۥ ۖ

you will fail to (keep) it

tukh'lafahu

وَٱنظُرْ

And look

wa-unẓur

إِلَىٰٓ

at

ilā

إِلَـٰهِكَ

your god

ilāhika

ٱلَّذِى

that which

alladhī

ظَلْتَ

you have remained

ẓalta

عَلَيْهِ

to it

ʿalayhi

عَاكِفًۭا ۖ

devoted

ʿākifan

لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥ

Surely we will burn it

lanuḥarriqannahu

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

لَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥ

certainly we will scatter it

lanansifannahu

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْيَمِّ

the sea

l-yami

نَسْفًا

(in) particles

nasfan

٩٧

Dijo [Moisés]: “Aléjate de nosotros; tu castigo en esta vida será que digas: ‘No os acerquéis a mí’ [y vivirás solo], pero te aguarda una cita ineludible [el Día del Juicio]. Observa [lo que haremos con] lo que consideraste tu divinidad, y a lo cual has adorado: Lo quemaremos y esparciremos sus restos en el mar.

إِنَّمَآ

Only

innamā

إِلَـٰهُكُمُ

your God

ilāhukumu

ٱللَّهُ

(is) Allah

l-lahu

ٱلَّذِى

the One

alladhī

لَآ

(there is) no

إِلَـٰهَ

god

ilāha

إِلَّا

but

illā

هُوَ ۚ

He

huwa

وَسِعَ

He has encompassed

wasiʿa

كُلَّ

all

kulla

شَىْءٍ

things

shayin

عِلْمًۭا

(in) knowledge

ʿil'man

٩٨

Tu única divinidad es Dios. No existe nada ni nadie con derecho a ser adorado salvo Él, y todo lo abarca con Su conocimiento”.

Thus

نَقُصُّ

We relate

naquṣṣu

عَلَيْكَ

to you

ʿalayka

مِنْ

from

min

أَنۢبَآءِ

(the) news

anbāi

مَا

(of) what

mā

قَدْ

has preceded

qad

سَبَقَ ۚ

has preceded

sabaqa

وَقَدْ

And certainly

waqad

ءَاتَيْنَـٰكَ

We have given you

ātaynāka

مِن

from

min

لَّدُنَّا

Us

ladunnā

ذِكْرًۭا

a Reminder

dhik'ran

٩٩

Así es como te he revelado [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] las historias de quienes te precedieron, porque te he concedido el Mensaje.

Whoever

man

أَعْرَضَ

turns away

aʿraḍa

عَنْهُ

from it

ʿanhu

فَإِنَّهُۥ

then indeed, he

fa-innahu

يَحْمِلُ

will bear

يَوْمَ

(on the) Day

yawma

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

(of) Resurrection

l-qiyāmati

وِزْرًا

a burden

wiz'ran

١٠٠

Quien se aparte de él, llevará una pesada carga el Día del Juicio,

Abiding forever

فِيهِ ۖ

وَسَآءَ

(of) the Resurrection

l-qiyāmati

حِمْلًۭا

(as) a load

ḥim'lan

que cargará por toda la eternidad. ¡Qué pésima carga tendrán que soportar el Día de la Resurrección!

the Trumpet

and We will gather

the criminals

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

that Day

yawma-idhin

زُرْقًۭا

blue-eyed

zur'qan

١٠٢

Ese día, cuando la trompeta sea soplada, reuniré a los culpables, y sus miradas estarán ensombrecidas.

They are murmuring

Se susurrarán unos a otros, y algunos dirán: “Solo permanecimos [en la vida mundanal] diez días”.

يَوْمًۭا

a day

yawman

١٠٤

Y otros, los más sensatos, dirán: “Solo permanecimos un día.” Bien sé lo que dicen.

And they ask you

my Lord

نَسْفًۭا

١٠٥

Te preguntan [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] qué ocurrirá con las montañas [el Día del Juicio]. Diles: “Mi Señor las reducirá a polvo,

Then He will leave it

y las convertirá en inmensas llanuras.

وَخَشَعَتِ

And (will be) humbled

ٱلْأَصْوَاتُ

the voices

لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ

for the Most Gracious

lilrraḥmāni

فَلَا

so not

falā

تَسْمَعُ

you will hear

tasmaʿu

إِلَّا

except

illā

هَمْسًۭا

a faint sound

hamsan

١٠٨

Ese día todos acudirán al llamado del [ángel] pregonero, y nadie errará el camino; las voces callarán ante el Misericordioso, y solo se oirá el sonido de sus pasos.

(On) that Day

ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُ

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ

the Most Gracious

l-raḥmānu

وَرَضِىَ

and He has accepted

waraḍiya

لَهُۥ

for him

lahu

قَوْلًۭا

a word

qawlan

١٠٩

Entonces, ninguna intercesión será aceptada, salvo la de quien el Misericordioso quiera y sus palabras le sean aceptadas.

وَلَا

while not

walā

يُحِيطُونَ

they encompass

yuḥīṭūna

بِهِۦ

it

bihi

عِلْمًۭا

(in) knowledge

ʿil'man

١١٠

Dios bien conoce el pasado y el futuro, mientras que ellos nunca podrán alcanzar este conocimiento.

۞ وَعَنَتِ

And (will be) humbled

waʿanati

ٱلْوُجُوهُ

the faces

l-wujūhu

لِلْحَىِّ

before the Ever-Living

lil'ḥayyi

ٱلْقَيُّومِ ۖ

the Self-Subsisting

l-qayūmi

وَقَدْ

And verily

waqad

خَابَ

will have failed

khāba

مَنْ

(he) who

man

حَمَلَ

carried

ḥamala

ظُلْمًۭا

wrongdoing

ẓul'man

١١١

[El Día del Juicio] todos los rostros se humillarán ante Dios, el Viviente, Quien se basta a Sí mismo y se ocupa de toda la creación. Estarán condenados al castigo quienes sean culpables de injustica [idolatría].

وَمَن

But (he) who

waman

يَعْمَلْ

does

yaʿmal

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ

the righteous deeds

l-ṣāliḥāti

وَهُوَ

while he

wahuwa

مُؤْمِنٌۭ

(is) a believer

mu'minun

فَلَا

then not

falā

يَخَافُ

he will fear

yakhāfu

ظُلْمًۭا

injustice

ẓul'man

وَلَا

and not

walā

هَضْمًۭا

deprivation

haḍman

١١٢

En cambio, el creyente que haya obrado rectamente no ha de temer que lo traten injustamente ni lo priven de la recompensa [de sus buenas obras].

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

And thus

wakadhālika

أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ

We have sent it down

anzalnāhu

قُرْءَانًا

(the) Quran

qur'ānan

عَرَبِيًّۭا

(in) Arabic

ʿarabiyyan

وَصَرَّفْنَا

and We have explained

waṣarrafnā

فِيهِ

in it

fīhi

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلْوَعِيدِ

the warnings

l-waʿīdi

لَعَلَّهُمْ

that they may

laʿallahum

يَتَّقُونَ

fear

yattaqūna

أَوْ

or

aw

يُحْدِثُ

it may cause

yuḥ'dithu

لَهُمْ

[for] them

lahum

ذِكْرًۭا

remembrance

dhik'ran

١١٣

He revelado el Corán en idioma árabe, y expuse en él toda clase de advertencias para que tengan temor de Dios o les haga reflexionar.

فَتَعَـٰلَى

So high (above all)

fataʿālā

ٱللَّهُ

(is) Allah

l-lahu

ٱلْمَلِكُ

the King

l-maliku

ٱلْحَقُّ ۗ

the True

l-ḥaqu

وَلَا

And (do) not

walā

تَعْجَلْ

hasten

taʿjal

بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ

with the Quran

bil-qur'āni

مِن

before

min

قَبْلِ

before

qabli

أَن

[that]

an

يُقْضَىٰٓ

is completed

yuq'ḍā

إِلَيْكَ

to you

ilayka

وَحْيُهُۥ ۖ

its revelation

waḥyuhu

وَقُل

and say

waqul

رَّبِّ

My Lord

rabbi

زِدْنِى

Increase me

zid'nī

عِلْمًۭا

(in) knowledge

ʿil'man

١١٤

¡Exaltado sea Dios! El único Soberano real. No te adelantes [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] a repetir lo que te es revelado del Corán hasta que [el ángel Gabriel] concluya [de recitarlo], y di: “¡Señor mío! Acrecienta mi conocimiento”.

وَلَقَدْ

And verily

walaqad

عَهِدْنَآ

We made a covenant

ʿahid'nā

إِلَىٰٓ

with

ilā

ءَادَمَ

Adam

ādama

مِن

before

min

قَبْلُ

before

qablu

فَنَسِىَ

but he forgot

fanasiya

وَلَمْ

and not

walam

نَجِدْ

We found

najid

لَهُۥ

in him

lahu

عَزْمًۭا

determination

ʿazman

١١٥

Ya antes había tomado un compromiso de Adán [de no prestarse a los susurros del demonio], pero lo olvidó [y comió del árbol prohibido], no tuvo una resolución firme.

وَإِذْ

And when

wa-idh

قُلْنَا

We said

qul'nā

لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ

to the Angels

lil'malāikati

ٱسْجُدُوا۟

Prostrate

us'judū

لِـَٔادَمَ

to Adam

liādama

فَسَجَدُوٓا۟

then they prostrated

fasajadū

إِلَّآ

except

illā

إِبْلِيسَ

Iblis

ib'līsa

أَبَىٰ

he refused

abā

١١٦

[Recuerda] cuando dije a los ángeles: “¡Haced una reverencia ante Adán!” Todos la hicieron excepto Iblís.

فَقُلْنَا

Then We said

faqul'nā

يَـٰٓـَٔادَمُ

O Adam

yāādamu

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

هَـٰذَا

this

hādhā

عَدُوٌّۭ

(is) an enemy

ʿaduwwun

لَّكَ

to you

laka

وَلِزَوْجِكَ

and to your wife

walizawjika

فَلَا

So not

falā

يُخْرِجَنَّكُمَا

(let) him drive you both

yukh'rijannakumā

مِنَ

from

mina

ٱلْجَنَّةِ

Paradise

l-janati

فَتَشْقَىٰٓ

so (that) you would suffer

fatashqā

١١٧

Dije: “¡Oh, Adán! Este [el demonio] es un enemigo para ti y para tu esposa; que no haga que os expulse, del Paraíso pues serás un desdichado.

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

لَكَ

for you

laka

أَلَّا

that not

allā

تَجُوعَ

you will be hungry

tajūʿa

فِيهَا

therein

fīhā

وَلَا

and not

walā

تَعْرَىٰ

you will be unclothed

taʿrā

١١٨

En el Paraíso no padecerás hambre ni te faltará con qué cubrir tu desnudez,

وَأَنَّكَ

And that you

wa-annaka

لَا

not

lā

تَظْمَؤُا۟

will suffer from thirst

taẓma-u

فِيهَا

therein

fīhā

وَلَا

and not

walā

تَضْحَىٰ

exposed to the sun's heat

taḍḥā

١١٩

ni tampoco sufrirás sed ni calor”.

فَوَسْوَسَ

Then whispered

fawaswasa

إِلَيْهِ

to him

ilayhi

ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ

Shaitaan

l-shayṭānu

قَالَ

he said

qāla

يَـٰٓـَٔادَمُ

O Adam

yāādamu

هَلْ

Shall

hal

أَدُلُّكَ

I direct you

adulluka

عَلَىٰ

to

ʿalā

شَجَرَةِ

(the) tree

shajarati

ٱلْخُلْدِ

(of) the Eternity

l-khul'di

وَمُلْكٍۢ

and a kingdom

wamul'kin

لَّا

not

lā

يَبْلَىٰ

(that will) deteriorate

yablā

١٢٠

Pero el demonio le sedujo diciéndole: “¡Oh, Adán! ¿Quieres que te indique el árbol de la inmortalidad y el poder eterno?”

فَأَكَلَا

Then they both ate

fa-akalā

مِنْهَا

from it

min'hā

فَبَدَتْ

so became apparent

fabadat

لَهُمَا

to them

lahumā

سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا

their shame

sawātuhumā

وَطَفِقَا

and they began

waṭafiqā

يَخْصِفَانِ

(to) fasten

yakhṣifāni

عَلَيْهِمَا

on themselves

ʿalayhimā

مِن

from

min

وَرَقِ

(the) leaves

waraqi

ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۚ

(of) Paradise

l-janati

وَعَصَىٰٓ

And Adam disobeyed

waʿaṣā

ءَادَمُ

And Adam disobeyed

ādamu

رَبَّهُۥ

his Lord

rabbahu

فَغَوَىٰ

and erred

faghawā

١٢١

Cuando ambos comieron del árbol, advirtieron su desnudez y comenzaron a cubrirse con hojas del Paraíso. Adán desobedeció a su Señor y cometió un pecado.

ثُمَّ

Then

thumma

ٱجْتَبَـٰهُ

chose him

ij'tabāhu

رَبُّهُۥ

his Lord

rabbuhu

فَتَابَ

and turned

fatāba

عَلَيْهِ

to him

ʿalayhi

وَهَدَىٰ

and guided (him)

wahadā

١٢٢

Más tarde, su Señor le eligió [como Profeta], le perdonó y le guió.

قَالَ

He said

qāla

ٱهْبِطَا

Go down

ih'biṭā

مِنْهَا

from it

min'hā

جَمِيعًۢا ۖ

all

jamīʿan

بَعْضُكُمْ

some of you

baʿḍukum

لِبَعْضٍ

to others

libaʿḍin

عَدُوٌّۭ ۖ

(as) enemy

ʿaduwwun

فَإِمَّا

Then if

fa-immā

يَأْتِيَنَّكُم

comes to you

yatiyannakum

مِّنِّى

from Me

minnī

هُدًۭى

guidance

hudan

فَمَنِ

then whoever

famani

ٱتَّبَعَ

follows

ittabaʿa

هُدَاىَ

My guidance

hudāya

فَلَا

then not

falā

يَضِلُّ

he will go astray

yaḍillu

وَلَا

and not

walā

يَشْقَىٰ

suffer

yashqā

١٢٣

Dijo [Dios]: “¡Descended del Paraíso [y habitad la Tierra]! Seréis enemigos unos de otros. Cuando os llegue de Mí una guía, quienes sigan Mi guía no se extraviarán [en esta vida] ni serán desdichados [en el más allá].

وَمَنْ

And whoever

waman

أَعْرَضَ

turns away

aʿraḍa

عَن

from

ʿan

ذِكْرِى

My remembrance

dhik'rī

فَإِنَّ

then indeed

fa-inna

لَهُۥ

for him

lahu

مَعِيشَةًۭ

(is) a life

maʿīshatan

ضَنكًۭا

straitened

ḍankan

وَنَحْشُرُهُۥ

and We will gather him

wanaḥshuruhu

يَوْمَ

(on the) Day

yawma

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

(of) the Resurrection

l-qiyāmati

أَعْمَىٰ

blind

aʿmā

١٢٤

Pero quien se aleje de Mi recuerdo [Mi religión] llevará una vida de tribulación, y el Día del Juicio le resucitaré ciego.

قَالَ

He will say

qāla

رَبِّ

My Lord

rabbi

لِمَ

Why

lima

حَشَرْتَنِىٓ

You raised me

ḥashartanī

أَعْمَىٰ

blind

aʿmā

وَقَدْ

while [verily]

waqad

كُنتُ

I had

kuntu

بَصِيرًۭا

sight

baṣīran

١٢٥

Y entonces dirá: ‘¡Señor mío! ¿Por qué me has resucitado ciego, si antes veía?’”

قَالَ

He will say

qāla

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

kadhālika

أَتَتْكَ

came to you

atatka

ءَايَـٰتُنَا

Our Signs

āyātunā

فَنَسِيتَهَا ۖ

but you forgot them

fanasītahā

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

and thus

wakadhālika

ٱلْيَوْمَ

today

l-yawma

تُنسَىٰ

you will be forgotten

tunsā

١٢٦

Dirá [Dios]: “Así como cuando te llegaron Mis signos los ignoraste, hoy tú serás ignorado”.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

And thus

wakadhālika

نَجْزِى

We recompense

najzī

مَنْ

(he) who

man

أَسْرَفَ

transgresses

asrafa

وَلَمْ

and not

walam

يُؤْمِنۢ

believes

yu'min

بِـَٔايَـٰتِ

in (the) Signs

biāyāti

رَبِّهِۦ ۚ

(of) his Lord

rabbihi

وَلَعَذَابُ

And surely (the) punishment

walaʿadhābu

ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

(of) the Hereafter

l-ākhirati

أَشَدُّ

(is) more severe

ashaddu

وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

and more lasting

wa-abqā

١٢٧

Así voy a retribuir a quienes se han extralimitado y no han creído en los signos de su Señor. Pero el castigo de la otra vida será aún más severo y duradero.

أَفَلَمْ

Then has not

afalam

يَهْدِ

it guided

yahdi

لَهُمْ

[for] them

lahum

كَمْ

how many

kam

أَهْلَكْنَا

We (have) destroyed

ahlaknā

قَبْلَهُم

before them

qablahum

مِّنَ

of

mina

ٱلْقُرُونِ

the generations

l-qurūni

يَمْشُونَ

(as) they walk

yamshūna

فِى

in

fī

مَسَـٰكِنِهِمْ ۗ

their dwellings

masākinihim

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

فِى

in

fī

ذَٰلِكَ

that

dhālika

لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ

surely (are) Signs

laāyātin

لِّأُو۟لِى

for possessors

li-ulī

ٱلنُّهَىٰ

(of) intelligence

l-nuhā

١٢٨

¿Acaso no se les ha evidenciado [a quienes rechazan este Mensaje] cuántas civilizaciones he destruido, cuando pasan junto a sus ruinas? En ello hay signos para los dotados de entendimiento.

وَلَوْلَا

And if not

walawlā

كَلِمَةٌۭ

(for) a Word

kalimatun

سَبَقَتْ

(that) preceded

sabaqat

مِن

from

min

رَّبِّكَ

your Lord

rabbika

لَكَانَ

surely (would) have been

lakāna

لِزَامًۭا

an obligation

lizāman

وَأَجَلٌۭ

and a term

wa-ajalun

مُّسَمًّۭى

determined

musamman

١٢٩

De no ser porque tu Señor ha decretado [retrasarles el castigo hasta el Día del Juicio a quienes te desmientan] y ha prefijado para cada ser su plazo [de vida durante la cual puede arrepentirse], ya les habría aniquilado.

فَٱصْبِرْ

So be patient

fa-iṣ'bir

عَلَىٰ

over

ʿalā

مَا

what

mā

يَقُولُونَ

they say

yaqūlūna

وَسَبِّحْ

and glorify

wasabbiḥ

بِحَمْدِ

with praise

biḥamdi

رَبِّكَ

(of) your Lord

rabbika

قَبْلَ

before

qabla

طُلُوعِ

(the) rising

ṭulūʿi

ٱلشَّمْسِ

(of) the sun

l-shamsi

وَقَبْلَ

and before

waqabla

غُرُوبِهَا ۖ

its setting

ghurūbihā

وَمِنْ

and from

wamin

ءَانَآئِ

(the) hours

ānāi

ٱلَّيْلِ

(of) the night

al-layli

فَسَبِّحْ

and glorify

fasabbiḥ

وَأَطْرَافَ

(at the) ends

wa-aṭrāfa

ٱلنَّهَارِ

(of) the day

l-nahāri

لَعَلَّكَ

so that you may

laʿallaka

تَرْضَىٰ

be satisfied

tarḍā

١٣٠

Ten paciencia ante sus injurias, y glorifica con alabanzas a tu Señor antes de la salida del Sol y antes del ocaso, durante la noche y durante los extremos del día, para que así [Dios te retribuya con una gran recompensa y] quedes complacido.

وَلَا

And (do) not

walā

تَمُدَّنَّ

extend

tamuddanna

عَيْنَيْكَ

your eyes

ʿaynayka

إِلَىٰ

towards

ilā

مَا

what

mā

مَتَّعْنَا

We have given for enjoyment

mattaʿnā

بِهِۦٓ

[with it]

bihi

أَزْوَٰجًۭا

pairs

azwājan

مِّنْهُمْ

of them

min'hum

زَهْرَةَ

(the) splendor

zahrata

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

(of) the life

l-ḥayati

ٱلدُّنْيَا

(of) the world

l-dun'yā

لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ

that We may test them

linaftinahum

فِيهِ ۚ

in it

fīhi

وَرِزْقُ

And (the) provision

wariz'qu

رَبِّكَ

(of) your Lord

rabbika

خَيْرٌۭ

(is) better

khayrun

وَأَبْقَىٰ

and more lasting

wa-abqā

١٣١

No codicies [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] aquello con lo que he agraciado a algunos de los ricos [de los incrédulos], pues son solo placeres de esta vida mundanal con los que les ponemos a prueba. La recompensa que tu Señor tiene reservada es mejor y más duradera.

وَأْمُرْ

And enjoin

wamur

أَهْلَكَ

(on) your family

ahlaka

بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ

the prayer

bil-ṣalati

وَٱصْطَبِرْ

and be steadfast

wa-iṣ'ṭabir

عَلَيْهَا ۖ

therein

ʿalayhā

لَا

Not

lā

نَسْـَٔلُكَ

We ask you

nasaluka

رِزْقًۭا ۖ

(for) provision

riz'qan

نَّحْنُ

We

naḥnu

نَرْزُقُكَ ۗ

provide (for) you

narzuquka

وَٱلْعَـٰقِبَةُ

and the outcome

wal-ʿāqibatu

لِلتَّقْوَىٰ

(is) for the righteous[ness]

lilttaqwā

١٣٢

Ordena a tu familia practicar la oración prescrita y sé constante en su cumplimiento. Que el trabajo en búsqueda del sustento no te haga descuidar el cumplimiento de lo que Dios ha prescrito, porque soy Yo quien os sustento. La bienaventuranza es para los piadosos.

وَقَالُوا۟

And they say

waqālū

لَوْلَا

Why not

lawlā

يَأْتِينَا

he brings us

yatīnā

بِـَٔايَةٍۢ

a sign

biāyatin

مِّن

from

min

رَّبِّهِۦٓ ۚ

his Lord

rabbihi

أَوَلَمْ

Has not

awalam

تَأْتِهِم

come to them

tatihim

بَيِّنَةُ

evidence

bayyinatu

مَا

(of) what

mā

فِى

(was) in

fī

ٱلصُّحُفِ

the Scriptures

l-ṣuḥufi

ٱلْأُولَىٰ

the former

l-ūlā

١٣٣

[Los que rechazan el Mensaje] dicen: “¿Por qué no nos muestra un milagro de su Señor [que compruebe su profecía]?” Pero si ya les han llegado pruebas evidentes en los primeros Libros revelados.

وَلَوْ

And if

walaw

أَنَّآ

We

annā

أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُم

(had) destroyed them

ahlaknāhum

بِعَذَابٍۢ

with a punishment

biʿadhābin

مِّن

before him

min

قَبْلِهِۦ

before him

qablihi

لَقَالُوا۟

surely they (would) have said

laqālū

رَبَّنَا

Our Lord

rabbanā

لَوْلَآ

why not

lawlā

أَرْسَلْتَ

You sent

arsalta

إِلَيْنَا

to us

ilaynā

رَسُولًۭا

a Messenger

rasūlan

فَنَتَّبِعَ

so we (could) have followed

fanattabiʿa

ءَايَـٰتِكَ

Your signs

āyātika

مِن

before

min

قَبْلِ

before

qabli

أَن

[that]

an

نَّذِلَّ

we were humiliated

nadhilla

وَنَخْزَىٰ

and disgraced

wanakhzā

١٣٤

Y si hubiera decretado destruirles con un castigo antes de la llegada de Mi Mensajero, habrían dicho: “¡Señor nuestro! Si nos hubieras enviado un Mensajero, habríamos seguido Tu Mensaje antes de ser humillados [con el castigo] y desdichados para siempre”.

Say

qul

كُلٌّۭ

Each

kullun

مُّتَرَبِّصٌۭ

(is) waiting

mutarabbiṣun

فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ ۖ

so await

fatarabbaṣū

فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ

Then you will know

fasataʿlamūna

مَنْ

who

man

أَصْحَـٰبُ

(are the) companions

aṣḥābu

ٱلصِّرَٰطِ

(of) the way

l-ṣirāṭi

ٱلسَّوِىِّ

[the] even

l-sawiyi

وَمَنِ

and who

wamani

ٱهْتَدَىٰ

is guided

ih'tadā

١٣٥

Diles [¡Oh, Muhámmad!]: “Todos esperáis [saber qué ocurrirá]; seguid esperando, que ya sabréis quiénes están en el camino recto y siguen la guía”.
