Alif Laam Ra alif-lam-ra These til'ka (are the) Verses āyātu (of) the Book l-kitābi [the] clear l-mubīni
Álif. Lam. Ra’.
Indeed, We innā We have sent it down anzalnāhu (as) a Quran in Arabic qur'ānan (as) a Quran in Arabic ʿarabiyyan so that you may laʿallakum understand taʿqilūna
We naḥnu relate naquṣṣu to you ʿalayka the best aḥsana of the narrations l-qaṣaṣi in what bimā We have revealed awḥaynā to you ilayka (of) this hādhā the Quran l-qur'āna although wa-in you were kunta before it min before it qablihi surely among lamina the unaware l-ghāfilīna
When idh said qāla Yusuf yūsufu to his father li-abīhi O my father yāabati Indeed, I innī I saw ra-aytu eleven aḥada eleven ʿashara stars kawkaban and the sun wal-shamsa and the moon wal-qamara I saw them ra-aytuhum to me lī prostrating sājidīna
He said qāla O my son yābunayya (Do) not lā relate taqṣuṣ your vision ru'yāka to ʿalā your brothers ikh'watika lest they plan fayakīdū against you laka a plot kaydan Indeed inna the Shaitaan l-shayṭāna (is) to man lil'insāni an enemy ʿaduwwun open mubīnun
And thus wakadhālika will choose you yajtabīka your Lord rabbuka and will teach you wayuʿallimuka of min (the) interpretation tawīli (of) the narratives l-aḥādīthi and complete wayutimmu His Favor niʿ'matahu on you ʿalayka and on waʿalā (the) family āli (of) Yaqub yaʿqūba as kamā He completed it atammahā on ʿalā your two forefathers abawayka before min before qablu Ibrahim ib'rāhīma and Isaac wa-is'ḥāqa Indeed inna your Lord rabbaka (is) All-Knower ʿalīmun All-Wise ḥakīmun
Certainly laqad were kāna in fī Yusuf yūsufa and his brothers wa-ikh'watihi signs āyātun for those who ask lilssāilīna
When idh they said qālū Surely Yusuf layūsufu and his brother wa-akhūhu (are) more beloved aḥabbu to ilā our father abīnā than we minnā while we wanaḥnu (are) a group ʿuṣ'batun Indeed inna our father abānā (is) surely in lafī an error ḍalālin clear mubīnin
Kill uq'tulū Yusuf yūsufa or awi cast him iṭ'raḥūhu (to) a land arḍan so will be free yakhlu for you lakum (the) face wajhu (of) your father abīkum and you will be watakūnū after that min after that baʿdihi a people qawman righteous ṣāliḥīna
Said qāla a speaker qāilun among them min'hum (Do) not lā kill taqtulū Yusuf yūsufa but throw him wa-alqūhu in fī the bottom ghayābati (of) the well l-jubi will pick him yaltaqiṭ'hu some baʿḍu [the] caravan l-sayārati if in you are kuntum doing fāʿilīna
They said qālū O our father yāabānā Why mā (do) you laka not lā trust us tamannā with ʿalā Yusuf yūsufa while indeed, we wa-innā (are) for him lahu surely well-wishers lanāṣiḥūna
Send him arsil'hu with us maʿanā tomorrow ghadan (to) enjoy yartaʿ and play wayalʿab And indeed, we wa-innā for him lahu (will) surely (be) guardians laḥāfiẓūna
He said qāla Indeed, [I] innī it surely saddens me layaḥzununī that an you should take him tadhhabū you should take him bihi and I fear wa-akhāfu that an would eat him yakulahu a wolf l-dhi'bu while you wa-antum of him ʿanhu (are) unaware ghāfilūna
They said qālū If la-in eats him akalahu the wolf l-dhi'bu while we wanaḥnu (are) a group ʿuṣ'batun indeed, we innā then idhan surely (would be) losers lakhāsirūna
So when falammā they took him dhahabū they took him bihi and agreed wa-ajmaʿū that an they put him yajʿalūhu in fī (the) bottom ghayābati (of) the well l-jubi But We inspired wa-awḥaynā to him ilayhi Surely, you will inform them latunabbi-annahum about this affair bi-amrihim about this affair hādhā while they wahum (do) not lā perceive yashʿurūna
And they came wajāū (to) their father abāhum early at night ʿishāan weeping yabkūna
They said qālū O our father yāabānā Indeed, we innā [we] went dhahabnā racing each other nastabiqu and we left wataraknā Yusuf yūsufa with ʿinda our possessions matāʿinā and ate him fa-akalahu the wolf l-dhi'bu But not wamā you anta (will) believe bimu'minin us lanā even if walaw we are kunnā truthful ṣādiqīna
Dijeron: “¡Padre!
And they brought wajāū upon ʿalā his shirt qamīṣihi with false blood bidamin with false blood kadhibin He said qāla Nay bal has enticed you sawwalat has enticed you lakum your souls anfusukum (to) a matter amran so patience faṣabrun (is) beautiful jamīlun And Allah wal-lahu (is) the One sought for help l-mus'taʿānu against ʿalā what mā you describe taṣifūna
And there came wajāat a caravan sayyāratun and they sent fa-arsalū their water drawer wāridahum then he let down fa-adlā his bucket dalwahu He said qāla O good news yābush'rā This hādhā (is) a boy ghulāmun And they hid him wa-asarrūhu (as) a merchandise biḍāʿatan And Allah wal-lahu (is) All-Knower ʿalīmun of what bimā they do yaʿmalūna
And they sold him washarawhu for a price bithamanin very low bakhsin dirhams darāhima few maʿdūdatin and they were wakānū about him fīhi of mina those keen to give up l-zāhidīna
And said waqāla the one who alladhī bought him ish'tarāhu of min Egypt miṣ'ra to his wife li-im'ra-atihi Make comfortable akrimī his stay mathwāhu Perhaps ʿasā that an (he) will benefit us yanfaʿanā or aw we will take him nattakhidhahu (as) a son waladan And thus wakadhālika We established makkannā Yusuf liyūsufa in fī the land l-arḍi that We might teach him walinuʿallimahu (the) interpretation of min (the) interpretation of tawīli the events l-aḥādīthi And Allah wal-lahu (is) Predominant ghālibun over ʿalā His affairs amrihi but walākinna most akthara (of) the people l-nāsi (do) not lā know yaʿlamūna
And when walammā he reached balagha his maturity ashuddahu We gave him ātaynāhu wisdom ḥuk'man and knowledge waʿil'man And thus wakadhālika We reward najzī the good-doers l-muḥ'sinīna
And sought to seduce him warāwadathu she who allatī he (was) huwa in fī her house baytihā from ʿan his self nafsihi And she closed waghallaqati the doors l-abwāba and she said waqālat Come on hayta you laka He said qāla I seek refuge in Allah maʿādha I seek refuge in Allah l-lahi Indeed, he innahu (is) my lord rabbī (who has) made good aḥsana my stay mathwāya Indeed innahu not lā will succeed yuf'liḥu the wrongdoers l-ẓālimūna
Dijo José: “¡Qué Dios me proteja!
And certainly walaqad she did desire hammat him bihi and he would have desired wahamma her bihā if not lawlā that an he saw raā the proof bur'hāna (of) his Lord rabbihi Thus kadhālika that We might avert linaṣrifa from him ʿanhu the evil l-sūa and the immorality wal-faḥshāa Indeed, he innahu (was) of min Our slaves ʿibādinā the sincere l-mukh'laṣīna
And they both raced wa-is'tabaqā (to) the door l-bāba and she tore waqaddat his shirt qamīṣahu from min the back duburin and they both found wa-alfayā her husband sayyidahā at ladā the door l-bābi She said qālat What mā (is) the recompense jazāu (of one) who man intended arāda for your wife bi-ahlika evil sūan except illā that an he be imprisoned yus'jana or aw a punishment ʿadhābun painful alīmun
He said qāla She hiya sought to seduce me rāwadatnī about ʿan myself nafsī And testified washahida a witness shāhidun of min her family ahlihā If in [is] kāna his shirt qamīṣuhu (is) torn qudda from min the front qubulin then she has spoken the truth faṣadaqat and he wahuwa (is) of mina the liars l-kādhibīna
But if wa-in [is] kāna his shirt qamīṣuhu (is) torn qudda from min (the) back duburin then she has lied fakadhabat and he wahuwa (is) of mina the truthful l-ṣādiqīna
So when falammā he saw raā his shirt qamīṣahu torn qudda from min (the) back duburin he said qāla Indeed, it innahu (is) of min your plot kaydikunna Indeed inna your plot kaydakunna (is) great ʿaẓīmun
Yusuf yūsufu turn away aʿriḍ from ʿan this hādhā And ask forgiveness wa-is'taghfirī for your sin lidhanbiki Indeed, you innaki are kunti of mina the sinful l-khāṭiīna
And said waqāla women nis'watun in fī the city l-madīnati The wife of im'ra-atu Aziz l-ʿazīzi (is) seeking to seduce turāwidu her slave boy fatāhā about ʿan himself nafsihi indeed qad he has impassioned her shaghafahā (with) love ḥubban Indeed, we innā [we] surely see her lanarāhā in fī an error ḍalālin clear mubīnin
So when falammā she heard samiʿat of their scheming bimakrihinna she sent arsalat for them ilayhinna and she prepared wa-aʿtadat for them lahunna a banquet muttaka-an and she gave waātat each kulla one wāḥidatin of them min'hunna a knife sikkīnan and she said waqālati Come out ukh'ruj before them ʿalayhinna Then when falammā they saw him ra-aynahu they greatly admired him akbarnahu and cut waqaṭṭaʿna their hands aydiyahunna they said waqul'na Forbid ḥāsha Allah lillahi not mā (is) this hādhā a man basharan not in (is) this hādhā but illā an angel malakun noble karīmun
She said qālat That fadhālikunna (is) the one alladhī you blamed me lum'tunnanī about him fīhi And certainly walaqad I sought to seduce him rāwadttuhu [from] ʿan [himself] nafsihi but he saved himself fa-is'taʿṣama and if wala-in not lam he does yafʿal what mā I order him āmuruhu surely, he will be imprisoned layus'jananna and certainly will be walayakūnan of mina those who are disgraced l-ṣāghirīna
He said qāla My Lord rabbi the prison l-sij'nu (is) dearer aḥabbu to me ilayya than what mimmā they invite me yadʿūnanī to it ilayhi And unless wa-illā You turn away taṣrif from me ʿannī their plot kaydahunna I might incline aṣbu towards them ilayhinna and [I] be wa-akun of mina the ignorant l-jāhilīna
So responded fa-is'tajāba to him lahu his Lord rabbuhu and turned away faṣarafa from him ʿanhu their plot kaydahunna Indeed, [He] innahu He huwa (is) All-Hearer l-samīʿu All-Knower l-ʿalīmu
Then thumma (it) appeared badā to them lahum after min after baʿdi [what] mā they had seen ra-awū the signs l-āyāti surely they should imprison him layasjununnahu until ḥattā a time ḥīnin
And entered wadakhala with him maʿahu (in) the prison l-sij'na two young men fatayāni Said qāla one of them aḥaduhumā Indeed, I innī [I] see myself arānī pressing aʿṣiru wine khamran And said waqāla the other l-ākharu Indeed, I innī [I] see myself arānī [I am] carrying aḥmilu over fawqa my head rasī bread khub'zan (were) eating takulu the birds l-ṭayru from it min'hu Inform us nabbi'nā of its interpretation bitawīlihi indeed, we innā [we] see you narāka of mina the good-doers l-muḥ'sinīna
He said qāla Not lā (will) come to both of you yatīkumā food ṭaʿāmun you are provided with tur'zaqānihi but illā I will inform both of you nabbatukumā of its interpretation bitawīlihi before qabla [that] an [it] comes to both of you yatiyakumā That dhālikumā (is) of what mimmā has taught me ʿallamanī my Lord rabbī Indeed, I innī [I] abandon taraktu (the) religion millata (of) a people qawmin not lā they believe yu'minūna in Allah bil-lahi and they wahum in the Hereafter bil-ākhirati [they] hum (are) disbelievers kāfirūna
And I follow wa-ittabaʿtu (the) religion millata (of) my forefathers ābāī Ibrahim ib'rāhīma and Isaac wa-is'ḥāqa and Yaqub wayaʿqūba Not mā was kāna for us lanā that an we associate nush'rika with Allah bil-lahi any min thing shayin That dhālika (is) from min (the) Grace faḍli (of) Allah l-lahi upon us ʿalaynā and upon waʿalā the mankind l-nāsi but walākinna most akthara (of) the men l-nāsi (are) not lā grateful yashkurūna
Nosotros no asociamos ningún copartícipe a Dios.
O my two companions yāṣāḥibayi (of) the prison l-sij'ni Are lords a-arbābun separate mutafarriqūna better khayrun or ami Allah l-lahu the One l-wāḥidu the Irresistible l-qahāru
Not mā you worship taʿbudūna besides Him min besides Him dūnihi but illā names asmāan which you have named them sammaytumūhā you antum and your forefathers waābāukum not mā (has) sent down anzala Allah l-lahu for it bihā any min authority sul'ṭānin Not ini (is) the command l-ḥuk'mu but illā for Allah lillahi He has commanded amara that not allā you worship taʿbudū but illā Him Alone iyyāhu That dhālika (is) the religion l-dīnu the right l-qayimu but walākinna most akthara [the] men l-nāsi (do) not lā know yaʿlamūna
O my two companions yāṣāḥibayi (of) the prison l-sij'ni As for ammā one of you aḥadukumā he will give drink fayasqī (to) his master rabbahu wine khamran and as for wa-ammā the other l-ākharu he will be crucified fayuṣ'labu and will eat fatakulu the birds l-ṭayru from min his head rasihi Has been decreed quḍiya the matter l-amru about which alladhī about which fīhi you both inquire tastaftiyāni
And he said waqāla to the one whom lilladhī he thought ẓanna that he annahu (would be) saved nājin of both of them min'humā Mention me udh'kur'nī to ʿinda your master rabbika But made him forget fa-ansāhu the Shaitaan l-shayṭānu (the) mention dhik'ra (to) his master rabbihi so he remained falabitha in fī the prison l-sij'ni several biḍ'ʿa years sinīna
And said waqāla the king l-maliku Indeed, I innī [I] have seen arā seven sabʿa cows baqarātin fat simānin eating them yakuluhunna seven sabʿun lean ones ʿijāfun and seven wasabʿa ears (of corn) sunbulātin green khuḍ'rin and others wa-ukhara dry yābisātin O yāayyuhā chiefs l-mala-u Explain to me aftūnī about fī my vision ru'yāya if in you can kuntum of visions lilrru'yā interpret taʿburūna
They said qālū Confused aḍghāthu dreams aḥlāmin and not wamā we naḥnu (are) in the interpretation bitawīli (of) the dreams l-aḥlāmi learned biʿālimīna
But said waqāla the one who alladhī was saved najā of the two min'humā and remembered wa-iddakara after baʿda a period ummatin I anā [I] will inform you unabbi-ukum of its interpretation bitawīlihi so send me forth fa-arsilūni
Yusuf yūsufu O ayyuhā the truthful one l-ṣidīqu Explain to us aftinā about fī (the) seven sabʿi cows baqarātin fat simānin eating them yakuluhunna seven sabʿun lean ones ʿijāfun and seven wasabʿi ears (of corn) sunbulātin green khuḍ'rin and other wa-ukhara dry yābisātin that I may laʿallī return arjiʿu to ilā the people l-nāsi so that they may laʿallahum know yaʿlamūna
He said qāla You will sow tazraʿūna (for) seven sabʿa years sinīna as usual da-aban and that which famā you reap ḥaṣadttum so leave it fadharūhu in fī its ears sunbulihi except illā a little qalīlan from which mimmā you (will) eat takulūna
Then thumma will come yatī after min after baʿdi that dhālika seven sabʿun hard (years) shidādun (which will) consume yakul'na what mā you advanced qaddamtum for them lahunna except illā a little qalīlan of what mimmā you (will) store tuḥ'ṣinūna
Then thumma will come yatī after min after baʿdi that dhālika a year ʿāmun in it fīhi will be given abundant rain yughāthu the people l-nāsu and in it wafīhi they will press yaʿṣirūna
And said waqāla the king l-maliku Bring him to me i'tūnī Bring him to me bihi But when falammā came to him jāahu the messenger l-rasūlu he said qāla Return ir'jiʿ to ilā your lord rabbika and ask him fasalhu what mā (is the) case bālu (of) the women l-nis'wati who allātī cut qaṭṭaʿna their hands aydiyahunna Indeed inna my Lord rabbī of their plot bikaydihinna (is) All-Knower ʿalīmun
He said qāla What mā (was) your affair khaṭbukunna when idh you sought to seduce rāwadttunna Yusuf yūsufa from ʿan himself nafsihi They said qul'na Allah forbid ḥāsha Allah forbid lillahi Not mā we know ʿalim'nā about him ʿalayhi any min evil sūin Said qālati (the) wife im'ra-atu (of) Aziz l-ʿazīzi Now l-āna (is) manifest ḥaṣḥaṣa the truth l-ḥaqu I anā sought to seduce him rāwadttuhu from ʿan himself nafsihi and indeed, he wa-innahu (is) surely of lamina the truthful l-ṣādiqīna
That dhālika he may know liyaʿlama that I annī not lam [I] betray him akhun'hu in secret bil-ghaybi and that wa-anna Allah l-laha (does) not lā guide yahdī (the) plan kayda (of) the betrayers l-khāinīna
And not wamā I absolve ubarri-u myself nafsī Indeed inna the soul l-nafsa (is) a certain enjoiner la-ammāratun of evil bil-sūi unless illā [that] mā bestows Mercy raḥima my Lord rabbī Indeed inna my Lord rabbī (is) Oft-Forgiving ghafūrun Most Merciful raḥīmun
And said waqāla the king l-maliku Bring him to me i'tūnī Bring him to me bihi I will select him astakhliṣ'hu for myself linafsī Then when falammā he spoke to him kallamahu he said qāla Indeed, you innaka (are) today l-yawma with us ladaynā firmly established makīnun (and) trusted amīnun
He said qāla Appoint me ij'ʿalnī over ʿalā (the) treasuries khazāini (of) the land l-arḍi Indeed, I innī (will be) a guardian ḥafīẓun knowing ʿalīmun
And thus wakadhālika We established makkannā [to] Yusuf liyūsufa in fī the land l-arḍi to settle yatabawwa-u therein min'hā where ever ḥaythu he willed yashāu We bestow nuṣību Our Mercy biraḥmatinā (on) whom man We will nashāu And not walā We let go waste nuḍīʿu (the) reward ajra (of) the good-doers l-muḥ'sinīna
And surely (the) reward wala-ajru (of) the Hereafter l-ākhirati (is) better khayrun for those who lilladhīna believe āmanū and are wakānū God conscious yattaqūna
And came wajāa (the) brothers ikh'watu (of) Yusuf yūsufa and they entered fadakhalū upon him ʿalayhi and he recognized them faʿarafahum but they wahum knew him not lahu knew him not munkirūna
And when walammā he had furnished them jahhazahum with their supplies bijahāzihim he said qāla Bring to me i'tūnī a brother bi-akhin of yours lakum from min your father abīkum Do not alā you see tarawna that I annī [I] give full ūfī [the] measure l-kayla and that I am wa-anā (the) best khayru (of) the hosts l-munzilīna
But if fa-in not lam you bring him to me tatūnī you bring him to me bihi then (there will be) no falā measure kayla for you lakum from me ʿindī and not walā you will come near me taqrabūni
They said qālū We will try to get permission sanurāwidu for him ʿanhu (from) his father abāhu and indeed we wa-innā surely will do lafāʿilūna
And he said waqāla to his servants lifit'yānihi Put ij'ʿalū their merchandise biḍāʿatahum in fī their saddlebags riḥālihim so that they laʿallahum may recognize it yaʿrifūnahā when idhā they go back inqalabū to ilā their people ahlihim so that they may laʿallahum return yarjiʿūna
So when falammā they returned rajaʿū to ilā their father abīhim they said qālū O our father yāabānā Has been denied muniʿa to us minnā the measure l-kaylu so send fa-arsil with us maʿanā our brother akhānā (that) we will get measure naktal And indeed, we wa-innā for him lahu (will) surely (be) guardians laḥāfiẓūna
He said qāla Should hal I entrust you āmanukum with him ʿalayhi except illā as kamā I entrusted you amintukum with ʿalā his brother akhīhi before min before qablu But Allah fal-lahu (is) the best khayrun Guardian ḥāfiẓan and He wahuwa (is the) Most Merciful arḥamu (of) the merciful l-rāḥimīna
And when walammā they opened fataḥū their baggage matāʿahum they found wajadū their merchandise biḍāʿatahum returned ruddat to them ilayhim They said qālū O our father yāabānā What mā (could) we desire nabghī This hādhihi (is) our merchandise biḍāʿatunā returned ruddat to us ilaynā And we will get provision wanamīru (for) our family ahlanā and we will protect wanaḥfaẓu our brother akhānā and get an increase wanazdādu measure kayla (of) a camel's (load) baʿīrin That dhālika (is) a measurement kaylun easy yasīrun
He said qāla Never lan will I send him ur'silahu with you maʿakum until ḥattā you give to me tu'tūni a promise mawthiqan by mina Allah l-lahi that surely you will bring him to me latatunnanī that surely you will bring him to me bihi unless illā that an you are surrounded yuḥāṭa you are surrounded bikum And when falammā they had given him ātawhu their promise mawthiqahum he said qāla Allah l-lahu over ʿalā what mā we say naqūlu (is) a Guardian wakīlun
And he said waqāla O my sons yābaniyya (Do) not lā enter tadkhulū from min one gate bābin one gate wāḥidin but enter wa-ud'khulū from min gates abwābin different mutafarriqatin And not wamā I can avail ugh'nī you ʿankum against mina Allah l-lahi any min thing shayin Not ini (is) the decision l-ḥuk'mu except illā with Allah lillahi upon Him ʿalayhi I put my trust tawakkaltu and upon Him waʿalayhi let put (their) trust falyatawakkali the ones who put trust l-mutawakilūna
And when walammā they entered dakhalū from min where ḥaythu ordered them amarahum their father abūhum not mā it kāna avail(ed) yugh'nī them ʿanhum against mina Allah l-lahi any min thing shayin but illā (it was) a need ḥājatan of fī Yaqub's soul nafsi Yaqub's soul yaʿqūba which he carried out qaḍāhā And indeed, he wa-innahu (was) a possessor ladhū (of) knowledge ʿil'min because limā We had taught him ʿallamnāhu but walākinna most akthara (of) the people l-nāsi (do) not lā know yaʿlamūna
And when walammā they entered dakhalū upon ʿalā Yusuf yūsufa he took āwā to himself ilayhi his brother akhāhu He said qāla Indeed, I innī [I] am anā your brother akhūka so (do) not falā grieve tabta-is for what bimā they used (to) kānū do yaʿmalūna
So when falammā he had furnished them jahhazahum with their supplies bijahāzihim he put jaʿala the drinking cup l-siqāyata in fī the bag raḥli (of) his brother akhīhi Then thumma called out adhana an announcer mu-adhinun O you ayyatuhā (in) the caravan l-ʿīru Indeed, you innakum surely (are) thieves lasāriqūna
They said qālū turning towards wa-aqbalū them ʿalayhim What (is it) mādhā you miss tafqidūna
They said qālū We are missing nafqidu (the) cup ṣuwāʿa (of) the king l-maliki And for (one) who waliman brings jāa it bihi (is) a load ḥim'lu (of) a camel baʿīrin and I wa-anā for it bihi (is) responsible zaʿīmun
They said qālū By Allah tal-lahi certainly laqad you know ʿalim'tum not mā we came ji'nā that we cause corruption linuf'sida in fī the land l-arḍi and not wamā we are kunnā thieves sāriqīna
They said qālū Then what famā (will be the) recompense (of) it jazāuhu if in you are kuntum liars kādhibīna
They said qālū Its recompense jazāuhu (is that one) who man it is found wujida in fī his bag raḥlihi then he fahuwa (will be) his recompense jazāuhu Thus kadhālika (do) we recompense najzī the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
So he began fabada-a with their bags bi-awʿiyatihim before qabla (the) bag wiʿāi (of) his brother akhīhi then thumma he brought it out is'takhrajahā from min (the) bag wiʿāi (of) his brother akhīhi Thus kadhālika (did) We plan kid'nā for Yusuf liyūsufa He could not mā He could not kāna take liyakhudha his brother akhāhu by fī the law dīni (of) the king l-maliki except illā that an Allah willed yashāa Allah willed l-lahu We raise narfaʿu (in) degrees darajātin whom man We will nashāu but over wafawqa every kulli possessor dhī (of) knowledge ʿil'min (is) the All-Knower ʿalīmun
They said qālū If in he steals yasriq then verily faqad stole saraqa a brother akhun of his lahu before min before qablu But Yusuf kept it secret fa-asarrahā But Yusuf kept it secret yūsufu within fī himself nafsihi and (did) not walam reveal it yub'dihā to them lahum He said qāla You antum (are the) worse sharrun (in) position makānan and Allah wal-lahu knows best aʿlamu of what bimā you describe taṣifūna
They said qālū O yāayyuhā Aziz l-ʿazīzu Indeed inna he has lahu a father aban old shaykhan [great] kabīran so take fakhudh one of us aḥadanā (in) his place makānahu Indeed, we innā [we] see you narāka of mina the good-doers l-muḥ'sinīna
He said qāla Allah forbid maʿādha Allah forbid l-lahi that an we take nakhudha except illā (one) who man we found wajadnā our possession matāʿanā with him ʿindahu Indeed, we innā then idhan surely (would be) wrongdoers laẓālimūna
So when falammā they despaired is'tayasū of him min'hu they secluded themselves khalaṣū (in) private consultation najiyyan Said qāla the eldest among them kabīruhum Do not alam you know taʿlamū that anna your father abākum has taken qad has taken akhadha upon you ʿalaykum a promise mawthiqan by mina Allah l-lahi and before wamin and before qablu that mā you failed farraṭtum concerning fī Yusuf yūsufa So never falan will I leave abraḥa the land l-arḍa until ḥattā permits yadhana me lī my father abī or aw Allah decides yaḥkuma Allah decides l-lahu for me lī and He wahuwa (is) the Best khayru (of) the judges l-ḥākimīna
Return ir'jiʿū to ilā your father abīkum and say faqūlū 'O our father yāabānā Indeed inna your son ib'naka has stolen saraqa and not wamā we testify shahid'nā except illā of what bimā we knew ʿalim'nā And not wamā we were kunnā of the unseen lil'ghaybi guardians ḥāfiẓīna
And ask wasali the town l-qaryata where allatī we were kunnā [in it] fīhā and the caravan wal-ʿīra which allatī we returned aqbalnā [in it] fīhā And indeed, we wa-innā surely (are) truthful.' laṣādiqūna
He said qāla Nay bal have enticed sawwalat you lakum your souls anfusukum something amran so patience faṣabrun (is) beautiful jamīlun Perhaps ʿasā Allah l-lahu will bring them to me an will bring them to me yatiyanī will bring them to me bihim all jamīʿan Indeed, He innahu He huwa (is) the All-Knower l-ʿalīmu All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
And he turned away watawallā from them ʿanhum and said waqāla Alas, my grief yāasafā over ʿalā Yusuf yūsufa And became white wa-ib'yaḍḍat his eyes ʿaynāhu from mina the grief l-ḥuz'ni and he (was) fahuwa a suppressor kaẓīmun
They said qālū By Allah tal-lahi you will not cease tafta-u remembering tadhkuru Yusuf yūsufa until ḥattā you become takūna fatally ill ḥaraḍan or aw become takūna of mina those who perish l-hālikīna
He said qāla Only innamā I complain ashkū (of) my suffering bathī and my grief waḥuz'nī to ilā Allah l-lahi and I know wa-aʿlamu from mina Allah l-lahi what mā not lā you know taʿlamūna
O my sons yābaniyya Go idh'habū and inquire fataḥassasū about min Yusuf yūsufa and his brother wa-akhīhi and not walā despair tāy'asū of min (the) Mercy of Allah rawḥi (the) Mercy of Allah l-lahi Indeed innahu none lā despairs yāy'asu of min (the) Mercy of Allah rawḥi (the) Mercy of Allah l-lahi except illā the people l-qawmu the disbelievers l-kāfirūna
So when falammā they entered dakhalū upon him ʿalayhi they said qālū O Aziz yāayyuhā O Aziz l-ʿazīzu Has touched us massanā and our family wa-ahlanā the adversity l-ḍuru and we have come waji'nā with goods bibiḍāʿatin (of) little value muz'jātin but pay (in) full fa-awfi to us lanā the measure l-kayla and be charitable wataṣaddaq to us ʿalaynā Indeed inna Allah l-laha rewards yajzī the charitable l-mutaṣadiqīna
He said qāla Do hal you know ʿalim'tum what mā you did faʿaltum with Yusuf biyūsufa and his brother wa-akhīhi when idh you were antum ignorant jāhilūna
They said qālū Are you indeed a-innaka surely you la-anta Yusuf yūsufu He said qāla I am anā Yusuf yūsufu and this wahādhā (is) my brother akhī Indeed qad Allah has been gracious manna Allah has been gracious l-lahu to us ʿalaynā Indeed, he innahu who man fears Allah yattaqi and (is) patient wayaṣbir then indeed fa-inna Allah l-laha (does) not lā let go waste yuḍīʿu (the) reward ajra (of) the good-doers l-muḥ'sinīna
They said qālū By Allah tal-lahi certainly laqad Allah has preferred you ātharaka Allah has preferred you l-lahu over us ʿalaynā and indeed wa-in we have been kunnā sinners lakhāṭiīna
Dijeron: “¡Por Dios!
He said qāla No lā blame tathrība upon you ʿalaykumu today l-yawma Allah will forgive yaghfiru Allah will forgive l-lahu you lakum and He wahuwa (is) the Most Merciful arḥamu (of) those who show mercy l-rāḥimīna
Go idh'habū with this shirt of mine biqamīṣī with this shirt of mine hādhā and cast it fa-alqūhu over ʿalā (the) face wajhi (of) my father abī he will regain sight yati he will regain sight baṣīran And bring to me watūnī your family bi-ahlikum all together ajmaʿīna
And when walammā departed faṣalati the caravan l-ʿīru their father said qāla their father said abūhum Indeed, I innī [I] find la-ajidu (the) smell rīḥa (of) Yusuf yūsufa if not lawlā that an you think me weakened in mind tufannidūni
They said qālū By Allah tal-lahi indeed, you innaka surely (are) in lafī your error ḍalālika old l-qadīmi
Dijeron [los otros hijos]: “¡Por Dios! Sigues en tu antiguo error”.
Then when falammā [that] an arrived jāa the bearer of glad tidings l-bashīru he cast it alqāhu over ʿalā his face wajhihi then returned (his) sight fa-ir'tadda then returned (his) sight baṣīran He said qāla Did not alam I say aqul to you lakum indeed, I innī [I] know aʿlamu from mina Allah l-lahi what mā not lā you know taʿlamūna
They said qālū O our father yāabānā Ask forgiveness is'taghfir for us lanā (of) our sins dhunūbanā Indeed, we innā have been kunnā sinners khāṭiīna
Dijeron: “¡Padre!
He said qāla Soon sawfa I will ask forgiveness astaghfiru for you lakum (from) my Lord rabbī Indeed, He innahu He huwa (is) the Oft-Forgiving l-ghafūru the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
Then when falammā they entered dakhalū upon ʿalā Yusuf yūsufa he took āwā to himself ilayhi his parents abawayhi and said waqāla Enter ud'khulū Egypt miṣ'ra if in Allah wills shāa Allah wills l-lahu safe āminīna
And he raised warafaʿa his parents abawayhi upon ʿalā the throne l-ʿarshi and they fell down wakharrū to him lahu prostrate sujjadan And he said waqāla O my father yāabati This hādhā (is the) interpretation tawīlu (of) my dream ru'yāya (of) before min (of) before qablu Verily qad has made it jaʿalahā my Lord rabbī true ḥaqqan And indeed waqad He was good aḥsana to me bī when idh He took me out akhrajanī of mina the prison l-sij'ni and brought wajāa you bikum from mina the bedouin life l-badwi after min after baʿdi [that] an had caused discord nazagha the Shaitaan l-shayṭānu between me baynī and between wabayna my brothers ikh'watī Indeed inna my Lord rabbī (is) Most Subtle laṭīfun to what limā He wills yashāu Indeed, He innahu He huwa (is) the All-Knower l-ʿalīmu the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
My Lord rabbi indeed qad you have given me ātaytanī of mina the sovereignty l-mul'ki and taught me waʿallamtanī of min the interpretation tawīli of the events l-aḥādīthi Creator fāṭira (of) the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi You anta (are) my Protector waliyyī in fī the world l-dun'yā and the Hereafter wal-ākhirati Cause me to die tawaffanī (as) a Muslim mus'liman and join me wa-alḥiq'nī with the righteous bil-ṣāliḥīna
That dhālika (is) from min the news anbāi (of) the unseen l-ghaybi which We reveal nūḥīhi to you ilayka And not wamā you were kunta with them ladayhim when idh they put together ajmaʿū their plan amrahum while they wahum (were) plotting yamkurūna
And not wamā most aktharu (of) the mankind l-nāsi even though walaw you desire ḥaraṣta (will be) believers bimu'minīna
And not wamā you ask them tasaluhum for it ʿalayhi any min reward ajrin Not in (is) it huwa but illā a reminder dhik'run to the worlds lil'ʿālamīna
And how many waka-ayyin of min a Sign āyatin in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi they pass yamurrūna over it ʿalayhā while they wahum (are) from them ʿanhā the ones who turn away muʿ'riḍūna
And not wamā believe yu'minu most of them aktharuhum in Allah bil-lahi except illā while they wahum associate partners with Him mush'rikūna

Say qul This hādhihi (is) my way sabīlī I invite adʿū to ilā Allah l-lahi with ʿalā insight baṣīratin I anā and whoever wamani follows me ittabaʿanī And Glory be wasub'ḥāna (to) Allah l-lahi and not wamā I am anā of mina the polytheists l-mush'rikīna
And not wamā We sent arsalnā before you min before you qablika but illā men rijālan We revealed nūḥī to them ilayhim from (among) min (the) people ahli (of) the townships l-qurā So have not afalam they traveled yasīrū in fī the earth l-arḍi and seen fayanẓurū how kayfa was kāna (the) end ʿāqibatu (of) those who alladhīna (were) before them min (were) before them qablihim And surely the home waladāru (of) the Hereafter l-ākhirati (is) best khayrun for those who lilladhīna fear Allah ittaqaw Then will not afalā you use reason taʿqilūna
Until ḥattā when idhā gave up hope is'tayasa the Messengers l-rusulu and thought waẓannū that they annahum certainly qad were denied kudhibū then came to them jāahum Our help naṣrunā and was saved fanujjiya whom man We willed nashāu And not walā (can) be repelled yuraddu Our punishment basunā from ʿani the people l-qawmi (who are) criminals l-muj'rimīna
Verily laqad (there) is kāna in fī their stories qaṣaṣihim a lesson ʿib'ratun for men li-ulī (of) understanding l-albābi Not mā (it) is kāna a narration ḥadīthan invented yuf'tarā but walākin a confirmation taṣdīqa (of that) which alladhī (was) before it bayna (was) before it yadayhi and a detailed explanation watafṣīla (of) all kulli things shayin and a guidance wahudan and mercy waraḥmatan for a people liqawmin who believe yu'minūna
