Indeed

(are) the believers

Bienaventurados los creyentes

Those who

هُمْ

se apartan de las frivolidades,

لِلزَّكَوٰةِ

of purification works

فَـٰعِلُونَ

And those who

wa-alladhīna

هُمْ

لِفُرُوجِهِمْ

of their modesty

حَـٰفِظُونَ

(are) guardians

عَلَىٰٓ

أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ

their spouses

their right hands

aymānuhum

فَإِنَّهُمْ

then indeed, they

fa-innahum

غَيْرُ

(are) not

ghayru

مَلُومِينَ

blameworthy

malūmīna

y solo cohabitan con sus esposas o con lo que posee su diestra, porque eso no es censurable.

فَمَنِ

Then whoever

ٱبْتَغَىٰ

seeks

ib'taghā

وَرَآءَ

beyond

ذَٰلِكَ

that

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

then those

fa-ulāika

هُمُ

[they]

humu

ٱلْعَادُونَ

(are) the transgressors

l-ʿādūna

٧

Pero quien busque algo más allá de eso, está transgrediendo [la ley].

وَٱلَّذِينَ

And those who

wa-alladhīna

هُمْ

[they]

hum

لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمْ

of their trusts

li-amānātihim

وَعَهْدِهِمْ

and their promise(s)

waʿahdihim

رَٰعُونَ

(are) observers

rāʿūna

٨

[Son de los bienaventurados quienes] sean fieles a la confianza depositada en ellos, cumplen con sus compromisos y acuerdos,

And those who

wa-alladhīna

هُمْ

hum

عَلَىٰ

over

ʿalā

صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ

their prayers

ṣalawātihim

يُحَافِظُونَ

they guard

٩

y cumplen con sus oraciones.

Those

ulāika

هُمُ

[they]

ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ

(are) the inheritors

[Quienes tengan estas virtudes] serán los herederos

will inherit

ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ

the Paradise

ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ

the humankind

clay

ṭīnin

١٢

Creé al [primer] ser humano de barro.

We placed him

نُطْفَةًۭ

(as) a semen-drop

١٣

Luego [hice que se reprodujera por medio de la fecundación, y] preservé el óvulo fecundado dentro de una cavidad segura.

Then

خَلَقْنَا

We created

khalaqnā

ٱلنُّطْفَةَ

the semen-drop

l-nuṭ'fata

عَلَقَةًۭ

(into) a clinging substance

ʿalaqatan

فَخَلَقْنَا

then We created

fakhalaqnā

ٱلْعَلَقَةَ

the clinging substance

l-ʿalaqata

مُضْغَةًۭ

(into) an embryonic lump

muḍ'ghatan

فَخَلَقْنَا

then We created

fakhalaqnā

ٱلْمُضْغَةَ

the embryonic lump

l-muḍ'ghata

عِظَـٰمًۭا

(into) bones

ʿiẓāman

فَكَسَوْنَا

then We clothed

fakasawnā

ٱلْعِظَـٰمَ

the bones

l-ʿiẓāma

لَحْمًۭا

(with) flesh

laḥman

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

أَنشَأْنَـٰهُ

We produce it

anshanāhu

خَلْقًا

(as) a creation

khalqan

ءَاخَرَ ۚ

another

ākhara

فَتَبَارَكَ

So blessed is

fatabāraka

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

أَحْسَنُ

(the) Best

aḥsanu

ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ

(of) the Creators

l-khāliqīna

١٤

Transformé el óvulo fecundado en un embrión, luego en una masa de tejidos, luego de esa masa de tejidos creé sus huesos a los que vestí de carne, finalmente soplé en el feto su espíritu. ¡Bendito sea Dios, el mejor de los creadores!

surely (will) die

[Sabed que] después de haber sido creados, tendréis que morir,

(of) the Resurrection

pero el Día de la Resurrección seréis devueltos a la vida.

And indeed

walaqad

خَلَقْنَا

We (have) created

فَوْقَكُمْ

above you

سَبْعَ

seven

sabʿa

طَرَآئِقَ

paths

وَمَا

and not

wamā

كُنَّا

We are

kunnā

عَنِ

of

ʿani

ٱلْخَلْقِ

the creation

l-khalqi

غَـٰفِلِينَ

unaware

ghāfilīna

١٧

Creé siete cielos por encima vuestro y no he descuidado la creación.

وَأَنزَلْنَا

And We send down

wa-anzalnā

مِنَ

from

mina

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

the sky

مَآءًۢ

water

بِقَدَرٍۢ

in (due) measure

فَأَسْكَنَّـٰهُ

then We cause it to settle

fa-askannāhu

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ

the earth

l-arḍi

وَإِنَّا

And indeed, We

wa-innā

عَلَىٰ

on

ʿalā

ذَهَابٍۭ

taking it away

dhahābin

بِهِۦ

taking it away

bihi

لَقَـٰدِرُونَ

surely (are) Able

laqādirūna

١٨

Hice descender del cielo el agua en una medida limitada para que permanezca en la tierra, pero si quisiera la podría hacer desaparecer.

فَأَنشَأْنَا

Then We produced

fa-anshanā

لَكُم

for you

lakum

بِهِۦ

by it

bihi

جَنَّـٰتٍۢ

gardens

jannātin

مِّن

of date-palms

min

نَّخِيلٍۢ

of date-palms

nakhīlin

وَأَعْنَـٰبٍۢ

and grapevines

wa-aʿnābin

لَّكُمْ

for you

lakum

فِيهَا

in it

fīhā

فَوَٰكِهُ

(are) fruits

fawākihu

كَثِيرَةٌۭ

abundant

kathīratun

وَمِنْهَا

and from them

wamin'hā

تَأْكُلُونَ

you eat

takulūna

١٩

Con ella hago brotar jardines de palmeras y viñedos de los que obtenéis abundantes frutos con los que os alimentáis.

وَشَجَرَةًۭ

And a tree

washajaratan

تَخْرُجُ

(that) springs forth

طُورِ

Mount Sinai

سَيْنَآءَ

بِٱلدُّهْنِ

وَصِبْغٍۢ

and a relish

waṣib'ghin

لِّلْـَٔاكِلِينَ

for those who eat

lil'ākilīna

Y [también] un árbol que crece en el monte Sinaí, que produce aceite y aderezo, una delicia para los comensales.

وَإِنَّ

And indeed

wa-inna

لَكُمْ

for you

lakum

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ

the cattle

l-anʿāmi

لَعِبْرَةًۭ ۖ

surely, (is) a lesson

laʿib'ratan

نُّسْقِيكُم

We give you drink

nus'qīkum

مِّمَّا

from what

mimmā

فِى

(is) in

fī

بُطُونِهَا

their bellies

buṭūnihā

وَلَكُمْ

and for you

walakum

فِيهَا

in them

fīhā

مَنَـٰفِعُ

(are) benefits

manāfiʿu

كَثِيرَةٌۭ

many

kathīratun

وَمِنْهَا

and of them

wamin'hā

تَأْكُلُونَ

you eat

takulūna

٢١

En los ganados hay una lección: Os doy de beber de lo que hay en sus ubres, obtenéis de ellos muchos beneficios y también os alimentan;

And on them

وَعَلَى

and on

waʿalā

ٱلْفُلْكِ

[the] ships

تُحْمَلُونَ

you are carried

And verily

walaqad

أَرْسَلْنَا

We sent

arsalnā

نُوحًا

Nuh

nūḥan

إِلَىٰ

to

قَوْمِهِۦ

his people

فَقَالَ

and he said

faqāla

يَـٰقَوْمِ

O my people

yāqawmi

ٱعْبُدُوا۟

Worship

uʿ'budū

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

مَا

not

mā

لَكُم

for you

lakum

مِّنْ

(is) any

min

إِلَـٰهٍ

god

ilāhin

غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ

other than Him

ghayruhu

أَفَلَا

Then will not

afalā

تَتَّقُونَ

you fear

tattaqūna

٢٣

Envié a Noé a su pueblo y os dijo: “¡Oh, pueblo mío! Adorad solamente a Dios, pues no existe otra divinidad salvo Él. ¿Acaso no vais a tener temor de Él?”

فَقَالَ

But said

faqāla

ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟

the chiefs

l-mala-u

ٱلَّذِينَ

(of) those who

alladhīna

كَفَرُوا۟

disbelieved

مِن

قَوْمِهِۦ

his people

qawmihi

مَا

This is not

mā

هَـٰذَآ

This is not

hādhā

إِلَّا

but

illā

بَشَرٌۭ

a man

basharun

مِّثْلُكُمْ

like you

mith'lukum

يُرِيدُ

he wishes

yurīdu

أَن

to

an

يَتَفَضَّلَ

assert (his) superiority

yatafaḍḍala

عَلَيْكُمْ

over you

ʿalaykum

وَلَوْ

and if

walaw

شَآءَ

Allah had willed

shāa

ٱللَّهُ

Allah had willed

l-lahu

لَأَنزَلَ

surely He (would have) sent down

la-anzala

مَلَـٰٓئِكَةًۭ

Angels

malāikatan

مَّا

Not

mā

سَمِعْنَا

we heard

samiʿ'nā

بِهَـٰذَا

of this

bihādhā

فِىٓ

from

fī

ءَابَآئِنَا

our forefathers

ābāinā

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

our forefathers

l-awalīna

٢٤

Pero los magnates de su pueblo que no creyeron, dijeron [a los más débiles]: “Este es un mortal como vosotros, que solo pretende poder. Si Dios hubiera querido [que siguiéramos Su Mensaje] habría enviado ángeles [en lugar de seres humanos]. Nunca oímos algo similar de nuestros antepasados.

حَتَّىٰ

ḥattā

حِينٍۢ

a time

[Noé] no es más que un demente, soportadlo por un tiempo [hasta que muera]”.

My Lord

Help me

Dijo Noé: “¡Señor mío! Socórreme, porque ellos me desmienten”.

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ

So We inspired

إِلَيْهِ

to him

أَنِ

ٱصْنَعِ

construct

بِأَعْيُنِنَا

under Our eyes

bi-aʿyuninā

وَوَحْيِنَا

and Our inspiration

wawaḥyinā

فَإِذَا

then when

fa-idhā

جَآءَ

comes

jāa

أَمْرُنَا

Our Command

amrunā

وَفَارَ

and gushes forth

wafāra

ٱلتَّنُّورُ ۙ

the oven

l-tanūru

فَٱسْلُكْ

then put

fa-us'luk

فِيهَا

into it

fīhā

مِن

of

min

كُلٍّۢ

every (kind)

kullin

زَوْجَيْنِ

(of) mates

zawjayni

ٱثْنَيْنِ

two

ith'nayni

وَأَهْلَكَ

and your family

wa-ahlaka

إِلَّا

except

illā

مَن

those

man

سَبَقَ

(has) preceded

sabaqa

عَلَيْهِ

against whom

ʿalayhi

ٱلْقَوْلُ

the Word

l-qawlu

مِنْهُمْ ۖ

thereof

min'hum

وَلَا

And (do) not

walā

تُخَـٰطِبْنِى

address Me

tukhāṭib'nī

فِى

concerning

fī

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۖ

wronged

ẓalamū

إِنَّهُم

indeed, they

innahum

مُّغْرَقُونَ

(are) the ones to be drowned

mugh'raqūna

٢٧

Entonces le dije: “Construye el arca bajo Mi observancia, acorde a lo que te inspiré. Cuando llegue Mi designio y el agua comience a brotar de la tierra [y se inicie la inundación], haz subir una pareja de cada especie y embarca a tu familia, salvo a quienes el decreto [de la inundación] los haya condenado. No Me pidas por los injustos, pues ellos perecerán ahogados.

And when

you (have) boarded

ٱلْفُلْكِ

the ship

فَقُلِ

ٱلْحَمْدُ

Praise

l-ḥamdu

لِلَّهِ

(be) to Allah

lillahi

ٱلَّذِى

Who

alladhī

نَجَّىٰنَا

(has) saved us

najjānā

مِنَ

from

mina

ٱلْقَوْمِ

the people

l-qawmi

ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

the wrongdoers

l-ẓālimīna

٢٨

Cuando tú y quienes estén contigo se encuentren en el arca, di: ¡Alabado sea Dios, Quien nos ha salvado de un pueblo de injustos!”

And say

My Lord

أَنزِلْنِى

cause me to land

مُنزَلًۭا

(at) a landing place

مُّبَارَكًۭا

blessed

وَأَنتَ

and You

wa-anta

خَيْرُ

(are) the Best

khayru

ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ

(of) those who cause to land.'

Y di: “¡Señor mío! Hazme llegar a un destino bendito, pues Tú eres Quien mejor hace llegar a destino”.

Indeed

surely testing

En ello hay signos [de Dios], pero [sabed que] siempre pondré a prueba [a los seres humanos].

Después [de la destrucción del pueblo de Noé], hice surgir nuevas generaciones,

And We sent

فِيهِمْ

Worship

uʿ'budū

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

مَا

mā

لَكُم

for you

lakum

مِّنْ

(is) any

min

إِلَـٰهٍ

god

ilāhin

غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ

other than Him

ghayruhu

أَفَلَا

Then will not

afalā

تَتَّقُونَ

you fear

tattaqūna

٣٢

y les envié un Mensajero de entre ellos [que les dijo]: “Adorad solamente a Dios, ya que no existe otra divinidad salvo Él. ¿Es que no vais a tener temor [de Dios]?”

وَقَالَ

And said

waqāla

ٱلْمَلَأُ

the chiefs

l-mala-u

مِن

of

min

قَوْمِهِ

his people

qawmihi

ٱلَّذِينَ

who

alladhīna

كَفَرُوا۟

disbelieved

kafarū

وَكَذَّبُوا۟

and denied

wakadhabū

بِلِقَآءِ

(the) meeting

biliqāi

ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

(of) the Hereafter

l-ākhirati

وَأَتْرَفْنَـٰهُمْ

while We had given them luxury

wa-atrafnāhum

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

the life

l-ḥayati

ٱلدُّنْيَا

(of) the world

l-dun'yā

مَا

Not

mā

هَـٰذَآ

(is) this

hādhā

إِلَّا

but

illā

بَشَرٌۭ

a man

basharun

مِّثْلُكُمْ

like you

mith'lukum

يَأْكُلُ

He eats

yakulu

مِمَّا

of what

mimmā

تَأْكُلُونَ

you eat

takulūna

مِنْهُ

[from it]

min'hu

وَيَشْرَبُ

and he drinks

wayashrabu

مِمَّا

of what

mimmā

تَشْرَبُونَ

you drink

tashrabūna

٣٣

Pero [nuevamente] los magnates de su pueblo que no creyeron y desmintieron el Día del Juicio, a pesar de que les había concedido una vida llena de riquezas, dijeron [a los más débiles]: “Éste es un mortal igual que vosotros, come lo que coméis y bebe lo que bebéis.

وَلَئِنْ

And surely if

wala-in

أَطَعْتُم

you obey

aṭaʿtum

بَشَرًۭا

a man

basharan

مِّثْلَكُمْ

like you

mith'lakum

إِنَّكُمْ

indeed, you

innakum

إِذًۭا

then

idhan

لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ

surely (will be) losers

lakhāsirūna

٣٤

Si obedecéis a un ser humano como vosotros, seréis unos perdedores.

أَيَعِدُكُمْ

Does he promise you

أَنَّكُمْ

that you

annakum

إِذَا

when

مِتُّمْ

you are dead

وَكُنتُمْ

dust

وَعِظَـٰمًا

and bones

waʿiẓāman

أَنَّكُم

that you

annakum

مُّخْرَجُونَ

(will be) brought forth

mukh'rajūna

٣٥

¿Acaso os promete que después de morir y ser polvo y huesos, vais a ser resucitados?

No hay otra vida más que la mundanal; vivimos, morimos y jamás seremos resucitados.

بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

(are) believers

Él es solo un ser humano que ha inventado una gran mentira acerca de Dios, y no le vamos a creer”.

My Lord

rabbi

ٱنصُرْنِى

Help me

unṣur'nī

بِمَا

because

bimā

كَذَّبُونِ

they deny me

kadhabūni

Dijo [el Profeta]: “¡Señor mío! Socórreme, pues me han desmentido”.

He said

عَمَّا

After a little while

ʿammā

قَلِيلٍۢ

After a little while

qalīlin

لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ

surely they will become

layuṣ'biḥunna

نَـٰدِمِينَ

regretful

nādimīna

٤٠

Dijo [Dios]: “Dentro de poco se arrepentirán”.

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ

So seized them

fa-akhadhathumu

ٱلصَّيْحَةُ

the awful cry

l-ṣayḥatu

بِٱلْحَقِّ

in truth

bil-ḥaqi

فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ

and We made them

fajaʿalnāhum

غُثَآءًۭ ۚ

(as) rubbish of dead leaves

ghuthāan

فَبُعْدًۭا

So away

fabuʿ'dan

لِّلْقَوْمِ

with the people

lil'qawmi

ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

the wrongdoers

l-ẓālimīna

٤١

El estruendo les sorprendió con la verdad [que negaban], y los convertí en despojos. ¡Que el pueblo injusto sea destruido!

We produced

after them

a generation

Ninguna comunidad puede adelantar ni retrasar su plazo.

أَرْسَلْنَا

We sent

رُسُلَنَا

Our Messengers

rusulanā

تَتْرَا ۖ

(in) succession

tatrā

كُلَّ

Every time

kulla

مَا

Every time

جَآءَ

came

jāa

أُمَّةًۭ

(to) a nation

ummatan

رَّسُولُهَا

its Messenger

rasūluhā

كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ

they denied him

kadhabūhu

فَأَتْبَعْنَا

so We made (them) follow

fa-atbaʿnā

بَعْضَهُم

some of them

baʿḍahum

بَعْضًۭا

others

baʿḍan

وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ

and We made them

wajaʿalnāhum

أَحَادِيثَ ۚ

narrations

aḥādītha

فَبُعْدًۭا

So away

fabuʿ'dan

لِّقَوْمٍۢ

with a people

liqawmin

لَّا

not

lā

يُؤْمِنُونَ

they believe

yu'minūna

٤٤

Envié a Mis Mensajeros unos tras otros. Cada comunidad a la que le llegaba su Mensajero, le desmentía. Así que las destruí una tras otra e hice que se convirtieran en ejemplos. ¡Que sean destruidos los pueblos que se niegan a creer!

ثُمَّ

Then

thumma

أَرْسَلْنَا

We sent

arsalnā

مُوسَىٰ

Musa

mūsā

وَأَخَاهُ

and his brother

wa-akhāhu

هَـٰرُونَ

Harun

hārūna

بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا

with Our Signs

biāyātinā

وَسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ

and an authority

wasul'ṭānin

مُّبِينٍ

clear

mubīnin

٤٥

Luego envié a Moisés y a su hermano Aarón, con Mis signos y un poder visible,

إِلَىٰ

To

ilā

فِرْعَوْنَ

Firaun

fir'ʿawna

وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ

and his chiefs

wamala-ihi

فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟

but they behaved arrogantly

fa-is'takbarū

وَكَانُوا۟

and they were

wakānū

قَوْمًا

a people

qawman

عَالِينَ

haughty

ʿālīna

٤٦

al Faraón y su nobleza. Pero estos fueron soberbios y se comportaron

فَقَالُوٓا۟

Then they said

faqālū

أَنُؤْمِنُ

Shall we believe

anu'minu

لِبَشَرَيْنِ

(in) two men

libasharayni

مِثْلِنَا

like ourselves

mith'linā

وَقَوْمُهُمَا

while their people

waqawmuhumā

لَنَا

for us

lanā

عَـٰبِدُونَ

(are) slaves

ʿābidūna

٤٧

Y dijeron: “¿Acaso vamos a creer en dos mortales iguales a nosotros, mientras su pueblo nos sirve como esclavos?”

فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا

So they denied them

fakadhabūhumā

فَكَانُوا۟

and they became

fakānū

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ

those who were destroyed

Les desmintieron, y como consecuencia fueron destruidos.

وَلَقَدْ

And verily

walaqad

ءَاتَيْنَا

We gave

ātaynā

مُوسَى

Musa

mūsā

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

the Scripture

l-kitāba

لَعَلَّهُمْ

so that they may

laʿallahum

يَهْتَدُونَ

be guided

yahtadūna

٤٩

Le entregué a Moisés el Libro para que fueran de los bien guiados.

وَجَعَلْنَا

And We made

wajaʿalnā

ٱبْنَ

(the) son

ib'na

مَرْيَمَ

(of) Maryam

maryama

وَأُمَّهُۥٓ

and his mother

wa-ummahu

ءَايَةًۭ

a Sign

āyatan

وَءَاوَيْنَـٰهُمَآ

and We sheltered them

waāwaynāhumā

إِلَىٰ

to

ilā

رَبْوَةٍۢ

a high ground

rabwatin

ذَاتِ

of tranquility

dhāti

قَرَارٍۢ

of tranquility

qarārin

وَمَعِينٍۢ

and water springs

wamaʿīnin

٥٠

Hice de Jesús y su madre María, un signo [de Mi poder]. A ambos les di refugio en una colina, un lugar de descanso seguro con aguas cristalinas.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

O Messengers

yāayyuhā

ٱلرُّسُلُ

O Messengers

l-rusulu

كُلُوا۟

Eat

kulū

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ

the good things

l-ṭayibāti

وَٱعْمَلُوا۟

and do

wa-iʿ'malū

صَـٰلِحًا ۖ

righteous (deeds)

ṣāliḥan

إِنِّى

Indeed, I Am

innī

بِمَا

of what

bimā

تَعْمَلُونَ

you do

taʿmalūna

عَلِيمٌۭ

All-Knower

ʿalīmun

٥١

¡Oh, Mensajeros! Comed de las cosas buenas y haced buenas obras, que Yo bien sé lo que hacéis.

وَإِنَّ

And indeed

wa-inna

هَـٰذِهِۦٓ

this

hādhihi

أُمَّتُكُمْ

your religion

ummatukum

أُمَّةًۭ

(is) religion

ummatan

وَٰحِدَةًۭ

one

wāḥidatan

وَأَنَا۠

And I Am

wa-anā

رَبُّكُمْ

your Lord

rabbukum

فَٱتَّقُونِ

so fear Me

fa-ittaqūni

٥٢

Esta es la comunidad a la que pertenecéis [la de los Profetas], que es una única comunidad, y Yo soy vuestro Señor; tened temor de Mí.

فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟

But they cut off

fataqaṭṭaʿū

أَمْرَهُم

their affair (of unity)

amrahum

بَيْنَهُمْ

between them

baynahum

زُبُرًۭا ۖ

(into) sects

zuburan

كُلُّ

each

kullu

حِزْبٍۭ

faction

ḥiz'bin

بِمَا

in what

bimā

لَدَيْهِمْ

they have

ladayhim

فَرِحُونَ

rejoicing

fariḥūna

٥٣

Pero [algunas personas] fragmentaron la comunidad creando sectas, y

فَذَرْهُمْ

So leave them

fadharhum

فِى

in

fī

غَمْرَتِهِمْ

their confusion

ghamratihim

حَتَّىٰ

until

ḥattā

حِينٍ

a time

ḥīnin

٥٤

Déjalos [¡Oh, Muhámmad!, a los que se niegan a creer,] en su confusión por un tiempo [hasta que les llegue su hora].

أَيَحْسَبُونَ

Do they think

ayaḥsabūna

أَنَّمَا

that what

annamā

نُمِدُّهُم

We extend to them

numidduhum

بِهِۦ

[with it]

bihi

مِن

min

مَّالٍۢ

wealth

وَبَنِينَ

and children

wabanīna

٥٥

¿Acaso piensan que los bienes materiales y los hijos que les concedí

We hasten

nusāriʿu

لَهُمْ

to them

lahum

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚ

the good

l-khayrāti

بَل

Nay

bal

لَّا

يَشْعُرُونَ

they perceive

yashʿurūna

٥٦

son un indicio de que recibirán Mis gracias [en esta vida y la futura]?

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

هُم

[they]

hum

مِّنْ

from

min

خَشْيَةِ

(the) fear

khashyati

رَبِّهِم

(of) their Lord

rabbihim

مُّشْفِقُونَ

(are) cautious

mush'fiqūna

٥٧

No cabe duda de que aquellos que tienen temor de su Señor,

وَٱلَّذِينَ

And those

wa-alladhīna

هُم

[they]

hum

بِـَٔايَـٰتِ

in (the) Signs

biāyāti

رَبِّهِمْ

(of) their Lord

rabbihim

يُؤْمِنُونَ

believe

yu'minūna

٥٨

aquellos que creen en los signos de su Señor,

وَٱلَّذِينَ

And those

wa-alladhīna

هُم

[they]

hum

بِرَبِّهِمْ

with their Lord

birabbihim

لَا

(do) not

lā

يُشْرِكُونَ

associate partners

yush'rikūna

aquellos que no dedican actos de adoración excepto a su Señor,

وَٱلَّذِينَ

And those who

wa-alladhīna

يُؤْتُونَ

give

yu'tūna

مَآ

what

mā

ءَاتَوا۟

they give

ātaw

وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ

while their hearts

waqulūbuhum

وَجِلَةٌ

(are) fearful

wajilatun

أَنَّهُمْ

because they

annahum

إِلَىٰ

to

ilā

رَبِّهِمْ

their Lord

rabbihim

رَٰجِعُونَ

(will) return

rājiʿūna

٦٠

aquellos que dan en caridad parte de lo que se les ha concedido, y aun así sienten temor en sus corazones porque saben que comparecerán ante su Señor,

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

(It is) those

ulāika

يُسَـٰرِعُونَ

who hasten

yusāriʿūna

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ

the good (deeds)

l-khayrāti

وَهُمْ

and they

wahum

لَهَا

in them

lahā

سَـٰبِقُونَ

(are) foremost

sābiqūna

٦١

ellos se apresuran a realizar obras de bien, y son los primeros en hacerlas.

وَلَا

And not

walā

نُكَلِّفُ

We burden

nukallifu

نَفْسًا

any soul

nafsan

إِلَّا

except

illā

وُسْعَهَا ۖ

(to) its capacity

wus'ʿahā

وَلَدَيْنَا

and with Us

waladaynā

كِتَـٰبٌۭ

(is) a Record

kitābun

يَنطِقُ

(which) speaks

yanṭiqu

بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ

with the truth

bil-ḥaqi

وَهُمْ

and they

wahum

لَا

(will) not

lā

يُظْلَمُونَ

be wronged

yuẓ'lamūna

٦٢

No exijo a nadie por encima de sus posibilidades. [Sabed que] tengo un Libro que dice la verdad, y nadie será tratado injustamente.

بَلْ

Nay

bal

قُلُوبُهُمْ

their hearts

qulūbuhum

فِى

(are) in

fī

غَمْرَةٍۢ

confusion

ghamratin

مِّنْ

over

min

هَـٰذَا

this

hādhā

وَلَهُمْ

and for them

walahum

أَعْمَـٰلٌۭ

(are) deeds

aʿmālun

مِّن

besides

min

دُونِ

besides

dūni

ذَٰلِكَ

that

dhālika

هُمْ

they

hum

لَهَا

for it

lahā

عَـٰمِلُونَ

(are) doers

ʿāmilūna

٦٣

En cambio, los corazones [de los incrédulos] están cegados al Mensaje y cometen malas obras.

حَتَّىٰٓ

Until

ḥattā

إِذَآ

when

idhā

أَخَذْنَا

We seize

akhadhnā

مُتْرَفِيهِم

their affluent ones

mut'rafīhim

بِٱلْعَذَابِ

with the punishment

bil-ʿadhābi

إِذَا

behold

idhā

هُمْ

They

hum

يَجْـَٔرُونَ

cry for help

yajarūna

٦٤

Cuando castigue a los que tuvieron una vida llena de lujos, pedirán auxilio a gritos.

(Do) not

تَجْـَٔرُوا۟

cry for help

ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ

today

إِنَّكُم

Indeed, you

مِّنَّا

تُنصَرُونَ

will be helped

tunṣarūna

٦٥

[Y se les dirá entonces:] De nada sirve que pidáis auxilio hoy, pues nadie podrá salvarlos de Mi castigo.

Verily

كَانَتْ

were

ءَايَـٰتِى

My Verses

تُتْلَىٰ

recited

عَلَيْكُمْ

to you

ʿalaykum

فَكُنتُمْ

عَلَىٰٓ

(to) on

ʿalā

أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ

your heels

aʿqābikum

تَنكِصُونَ

turn back

tankiṣūna

٦٦

Mis versículos les eran recitados, pero los rechazaban.

مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ

(Being) arrogant

mus'takbirīna

بِهِۦ

about it

bihi

سَـٰمِرًۭا

conversing by night

sāmiran

تَهْجُرُونَ

speaking evil

tahjurūna

Por soberbia, pasaban la noche desprestigiando [el Corán].

أَفَلَمْ

Then, do not

afalam

يَدَّبَّرُوا۟

they ponder

yaddabbarū

ٱلْقَوْلَ

the Word

l-qawla

أَمْ

or

am

جَآءَهُم

has come to them

jāahum

مَّا

what

mā

لَمْ

not

lam

يَأْتِ

(had) come

yati

ءَابَآءَهُمُ

(to) their forefathers

ābāahumu

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

(to) their forefathers

l-awalīna

٦٨

¿Por qué no reflexionan sobre el Corán, o es que les llegó algo diferente que a sus antepasados?

يَعْرِفُوا۟

they recognize

yaʿrifū

رَسُولَهُمْ

their Messenger

rasūlahum

فَهُمْ

so they

لَهُۥ

(are) rejecting him

مُنكِرُونَ

(are) rejecting him

munkirūna

٦٩

Conocían a su Mensajero [Muhámmad], pero igualmente lo rechazaron.

أَمْ

Or

am

يَقُولُونَ

they say

yaqūlūna

بِهِۦ

In him

bihi

جِنَّةٌۢ ۚ

(is) madness

jinnatun

بَلْ

Nay

bal

جَآءَهُم

he brought them

jāahum

بِٱلْحَقِّ

the truth

bil-ḥaqi

وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ

but most of them

wa-aktharuhum

لِلْحَقِّ

to the truth

lil'ḥaqqi

كَـٰرِهُونَ

(are) averse

kārihūna

٧٠

Afirmaron que era un demente, pero él se presentó con la Verdad, aunque a la mayoría de ellos les disguste la verdad.

وَلَوِ

But if

walawi

ٱتَّبَعَ

(had) followed

ittabaʿa

ٱلْحَقُّ

the truth

l-ḥaqu

أَهْوَآءَهُمْ

their desires

ahwāahum

لَفَسَدَتِ

surely (would) have been corrupted

lafasadati

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ

the heavens

l-samāwātu

وَٱلْأَرْضُ

and the earth

wal-arḍu

وَمَن

and whoever

waman

فِيهِنَّ ۚ

(is) therein

fīhinna

بَلْ

Nay

bal

أَتَيْنَـٰهُم

We have brought them

ataynāhum

بِذِكْرِهِمْ

their reminder

bidhik'rihim

فَهُمْ

but they

fahum

عَن

from

ʿan

ذِكْرِهِم

their reminder

dhik'rihim

مُّعْرِضُونَ

(are) turning away

muʿ'riḍūna

٧١

Si la verdad siguiera a las pasiones [de los que se negaron a creer], los cielos, la Tierra y todo lo que hay en ellos se habría corrompido. Pero los ennoblecí con el Corán, y a pesar de eso lo rechazaron.

أَمْ

Or

am

تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ

you ask them

tasaluhum

خَرْجًۭا

(for) a payment

kharjan

فَخَرَاجُ

But the payment

fakharāju

رَبِّكَ

(of) your Lord

rabbika

خَيْرٌۭ ۖ

(is) best

khayrun

وَهُوَ

and He

wahuwa

خَيْرُ

(is) the Best

khayru

ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ

(of) the Providers

l-rāziqīna

٧٢

[¡Oh, Muhámmad] ¿Acaso les pides alguna remuneración a cambio [de transmitirles el Mensaje]? La recompensa de tu Señor es superior, y Él es Quien mejor agracia.

— Sheikh Isa Garcia

وَإِنَّكَ

And indeed, you

wa-innaka

لَتَدْعُوهُمْ

certainly call them

latadʿūhum

إِلَىٰ

to

ilā

صِرَٰطٍۢ

(the) Path

ṣirāṭin

مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

Straight

mus'taqīmin

٧٣

Tú los invitas al camino recto.

وَإِنَّ

And indeed

wa-inna

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

لَا

(do) not

lā

يُؤْمِنُونَ

believe

yu'minūna

بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

in the Hereafter

bil-ākhirati

عَنِ

from

ʿani

ٱلصِّرَٰطِ

the path

l-ṣirāṭi

لَنَـٰكِبُونَ

surely (are) deviating

lanākibūna

٧٤

Pero quienes no creen en la vida del más allá, se desvían de ese camino.

۞ وَلَوْ

And if

walaw

رَحِمْنَـٰهُمْ

We had mercy on them

raḥim'nāhum

وَكَشَفْنَا

and We removed

wakashafnā

مَا

what

mā

بِهِم

(was) on them

bihim

مِّن

of

min

ضُرٍّۢ

(the) hardship

ḍurrin

لَّلَجُّوا۟

surely they would persist

lalajjū

فِى

in

fī

طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ

their transgression

ṭugh'yānihim

يَعْمَهُونَ

wandering blindly

yaʿmahūna

٧٥

Aunque les tuviera misericordia y los librara de los males que sufren, persistirían desorientados en su extravío.

وَلَقَدْ

And verily

walaqad

أَخَذْنَـٰهُم

We seized them

akhadhnāhum

بِٱلْعَذَابِ

with the punishment

bil-ʿadhābi

فَمَا

but not

famā

ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟

they submit

is'takānū

لِرَبِّهِمْ

to their Lord

lirabbihim

وَمَا

and not

wamā

يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

they supplicate humbly

yataḍarraʿūna

٧٦

Los afligí con un castigo, pero aun así no se sometieron a su Señor ni imploraron auxilio.

حَتَّىٰٓ

Until

ḥattā

إِذَا

when

idhā

فَتَحْنَا

We opened

fataḥnā

عَلَيْهِم

for them

ʿalayhim

بَابًۭا

a gate

bāban

ذَا

of a punishment

dhā

عَذَابٍۢ

of a punishment

ʿadhābin

شَدِيدٍ

severe

shadīdin

إِذَا

behold

idhā

هُمْ

They

hum

فِيهِ

in it

fīhi

مُبْلِسُونَ

(will be in) despair

mub'lisūna

٧٧

Hasta que abra sobre ellos una de las puertas del castigo infernal, entonces perderán toda esperanza.

وَهُوَ

And He

wahuwa

ٱلَّذِىٓ

(is) the One Who

alladhī

أَنشَأَ

produced

ansha-a

لَكُمُ

for you

lakumu

ٱلسَّمْعَ

the hearing

l-samʿa

وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ

and the sight

wal-abṣāra

وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ

and the feeling

wal-afidata

قَلِيلًۭا

little

qalīlan

مَّا

(is) what

mā

تَشْكُرُونَ

you give thanks

tashkurūna

٧٨

Él es Quien los agració con el oído, la vista y el intelecto, pero poco se lo agradecen.

وَهُوَ

And He

wahuwa

ٱلَّذِى

(is) the One Who

alladhī

ذَرَأَكُمْ

multiplied you

dhara-akum

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the earth

l-arḍi

وَإِلَيْهِ

and to Him

wa-ilayhi

تُحْشَرُونَ

you will be gathered

tuḥ'sharūna

٧٩

Él es Quien os diseminó por la Tierra, y ante Él seréis reunidos.

وَهُوَ

And He

wahuwa

ٱلَّذِى

(is) the One Who

alladhī

يُحْىِۦ

gives life

yuḥ'yī

وَيُمِيتُ

and causes death

wayumītu

وَلَهُ

and for Him

walahu

ٱخْتِلَـٰفُ

(is the) alternation

ikh'tilāfu

ٱلَّيْلِ

(of) the night

al-layli

وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ

and the day

wal-nahāri

أَفَلَا

Then will not

afalā

تَعْقِلُونَ

you reason

taʿqilūna

٨٠

Él es Quien da la vida y da la muerte, y Él decretó la alternancia de la noche y el día. ¿Es que no razonáis?

Nay

قَالُوا۟

they say

مِثْلَ

(the) like

مَا

(of) what

قَالَ

ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ

the former (people)

Sin embargo, [los que se niegan a creer] dicen lo mismo que sus antecesores:

They said

أَءِذَا

What! When

a-idhā

مِتْنَا

we are dead

mit'nā

وَكُنَّا

and become

wakunnā

تُرَابًۭا

dust

turāban

وَعِظَـٰمًا

and bones

waʿiẓāman

أَءِنَّا

would we

a-innā

لَمَبْعُوثُونَ

surely be resurrected

lamabʿūthūna

٨٢

“Cuando muramos y nos convirtamos en polvo y huesos, ¿seremos resucitados?

Verily

laqad

وُعِدْنَا

we have been promised

wuʿid'nā

نَحْنُ

[we]

naḥnu

وَءَابَآؤُنَا

and our forefathers

waābāunā

هَـٰذَا

this

hādhā

مِن

before

min

قَبْلُ

before

qablu

إِنْ

not

in

هَـٰذَآ

(is) this

hādhā

إِلَّآ

but

illā

أَسَـٰطِيرُ

(the) tales

asāṭīru

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

(of) the former (people)

l-awalīna

٨٣

Eso ya se nos había prometido a nosotros y a nuestros antepasados con anterioridad. Pero no es más que una fábula de los antiguos”.

To whom (belongs)

ٱلْأَرْضُ

the earth

وَمَن

and whoever

فِيهَآ

تَعْلَمُونَ

know

taʿlamūna

٨٤

Pregúntales [¡Oh, Muhámmad!]: “Si sabéis, ¿a quién pertenece la Tierra y todo lo que existe sobre ella?”

They will say

لِلَّهِ ۚ

To Allah

lillahi

قُلْ

Say

أَفَلَا

Then will not

تَذَكَّرُونَ

you remember

Sin duda responderán: “A Dios”. Diles: “¿Acaso no vais a recapacitar [en que deberían adorarlo solo a Él]?”

وَرَبُّ

and (the) Lord

warabbu

ٱلْعَرْشِ

(of) the Throne

l-ʿarshi

ٱلْعَظِيمِ

the Great

l-ʿaẓīmi

Pregúntales: “¿Quién es el creador de los siete cielos, y el Señor del Trono grandioso?”

They will say

لِلَّهِ ۚ

Allah

تَتَّقُونَ

you fear (Him)

and He

wahuwa

يُجِيرُ

protects

yujīru

وَلَا

and no (one)

walā

يُجَارُ

(can) be protected

yujāru

عَلَيْهِ

against Him

ʿalayhi

إِن

If

in

كُنتُمْ

you

kuntum

تَعْلَمُونَ

know

taʿlamūna

٨٨

Pregúntales: “Si lo sabéis, ¿Quién tiene en Sus manos el dominio de todas las cosas, y puede amparar a quien Él quiere y nadie puede protegerse de Él [y Su castigo]?”

They will say

لِلَّهِ ۚ

Allah

lillahi

قُلْ

Say

فَأَنَّىٰ

Then how

fa-annā

تُسْحَرُونَ

are you deluded

tus'ḥarūna

٨٩

Sin duda que responderán: “Dios”. Diles: “¿Acaso estáis hechizados [y no podéis ver la verdad]?”

Nay

bal

أَتَيْنَـٰهُم

We (have) brought them

ataynāhum

بِٱلْحَقِّ

the truth

bil-ḥaqi

وَإِنَّهُمْ

but indeed, they

wa-innahum

لَكَـٰذِبُونَ

surely, (are) liars

lakādhibūna

٩٠

Aunque les envié la verdad, ellos la desmienten.

Not

ٱتَّخَذَ

Allah has taken

ittakhadha

ٱللَّهُ

Allah has taken

مِن

any

min

وَلَدٍۢ

son

waladin

وَمَا

and not

مَعَهُۥ

with Him

maʿahu

مِنْ

any

min

إِلَـٰهٍ ۚ

god

ilāhin

إِذًۭا

Then

idhan

لَّذَهَبَ

surely (would have) taken away

ladhahaba

كُلُّ

each

kullu

إِلَـٰهٍۭ

god

ilāhin

بِمَا

what

bimā

خَلَقَ

he created

khalaqa

وَلَعَلَا

and surely would have overpowered

walaʿalā

بَعْضُهُمْ

some of them

baʿḍuhum

عَلَىٰ

[on]

ʿalā

بَعْضٍۢ ۚ

others

baʿḍin

سُبْحَـٰنَ

Glory be

sub'ḥāna

ٱللَّهِ

(to) Allah

l-lahi

عَمَّا

above what

ʿammā

يَصِفُونَ

they attribute

yaṣifūna

٩١

Dios no ha tenido un hijo, ni existe otra divinidad salvo Él. Si así fuera, cada divinidad acapararía su propia creación, y entonces pretenderían dominarse unas a otras. ¡Glorificado sea Dios! Dios está por encima de lo que Le atribuyen.

عَـٰلِمِ

Knower

ʿālimi

ٱلْغَيْبِ

(of) the unseen

l-ghaybi

وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ

and the witnessed

wal-shahādati

فَتَعَـٰلَىٰ

exalted is He

fataʿālā

عَمَّا

above what

ʿammā

يُشْرِكُونَ

they associate

yush'rikūna

٩٢

Él es el Conocedor de lo oculto y lo manifiesto, Él está por encima de cuanto Le asocian.

Say

رَّبِّ

My Lord

rabbi

إِمَّا

If

immā

تُرِيَنِّى

You should show me

turiyannī

مَا

what

mā

يُوعَدُونَ

they are promised

Di [¡Oh, Muhámmad! esta súplica]: “¡Señor mío! Si me haces presenciar el castigo que les espera [a los que se niegan a creer],

My Lord

rabbi

فَلَا

then (do) not

falā

تَجْعَلْنِى

place me

tajʿalnī

فِى

among

fī

ٱلْقَوْمِ

the people

l-qawmi

ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

the wrongdoers

l-ẓālimīna

٩٤

Señor, no me pongas entre los injustos”.

وَإِنَّا

And indeed We

wa-innā

عَلَىٰٓ

on

ʿalā

أَن

that

an

نُّرِيَكَ

We show you

nuriyaka

مَا

what

mā

نَعِدُهُمْ

We have promised them

naʿiduhum

لَقَـٰدِرُونَ

surely able

laqādirūna

٩٥

[¡Oh, Muhámmad!] Tengo poder para hacerte ver el castigo que les he destinado.

ٱدْفَعْ

Repel

id'faʿ

بِٱلَّتِى

by that

bi-allatī

هِىَ

which

hiya

أَحْسَنُ

(is) best

aḥsanu

ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ ۚ

the evil

l-sayi-ata

نَحْنُ

We

naḥnu

أَعْلَمُ

know best

aʿlamu

بِمَا

of what

bimā

يَصِفُونَ

they attribute

yaṣifūna

٩٦

Si eres maltratado, responde con una buena actitud [sabiendo disculpar]. Yo bien sé lo que [Me] atribuyen.

And say

waqul

رَّبِّ

My Lord

rabbi

أَعُوذُ

I seek refuge

aʿūdhu

بِكَ

in You

bika

مِنْ

from

min

هَمَزَٰتِ

(the) suggestions

hamazāti

ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ

(of) the evil ones

l-shayāṭīni

٩٧

Di: “¡Señor mío! Me refugio en Ti de los susurros de los demonios,

وَأَعُوذُ

And I seek refuge

wa-aʿūdhu

بِكَ

in You

bika

رَبِّ

My Lord

rabbi

أَن

Lest

an

يَحْضُرُونِ

they be present with me

yaḥḍurūni

٩٨

y me refugio en Ti, oh, Señor, de su presencia maligna”.

حَتَّىٰٓ

Until

ḥattā

إِذَا

when

idhā

جَآءَ

comes

jāa

أَحَدَهُمُ

(to) one of them

aḥadahumu

ٱلْمَوْتُ

the death

l-mawtu

قَالَ

he says

qāla

رَبِّ

My Lord

rabbi

ٱرْجِعُونِ

Send me back

ir'jiʿūni

٩٩

Cuando la muerte les sorprenda [a los que se negaron a creer y vivieron en el pecado], dirán: “¡Señor mío! Hazme regresar a la vida otra vez,

لَعَلِّىٓ

That I may

laʿallī

أَعْمَلُ

do

aʿmalu

صَـٰلِحًۭا

righteous (deeds)

ṣāliḥan

فِيمَا

in what

fīmā

تَرَكْتُ ۚ

I left behind

taraktu

كَلَّآ ۚ

No

kallā

إِنَّهَا

Indeed, it

innahā

كَلِمَةٌ

(is) a word

kalimatun

هُوَ

he

huwa

قَآئِلُهَا ۖ

speaks it

qāiluhā

وَمِن

and before them

wamin

وَرَآئِهِم

and before them

warāihim

بَرْزَخٌ

(is) a barrier

barzakhun

إِلَىٰ

till

ilā

يَوْمِ

(the) Day

yawmi

يُبْعَثُونَ

they are resurrected

yub'ʿathūna

١٠٠

para [creer en Ti y] realizar las obras buenas que no hice”. Pero no se les dará otra oportunidad, pues son solo palabras [que no cumplirán]. Detrás de ellos habrá una barrera hasta que sean resucitados.

فَإِذَا

So when

fa-idhā

نُفِخَ

is blown

nufikha

فِى

in

fī

ٱلصُّورِ

the trumpet

l-ṣūri

فَلَآ

then not

falā

أَنسَابَ

(there) will be relationship

ansāba

بَيْنَهُمْ

among them

baynahum

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

that Day

yawma-idhin

وَلَا

and not

walā

يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

will they ask each other

yatasāalūna

١٠١

Cuando se sople la trompeta [por segunda vez para dar comienzo al Día del Juicio, y todos sean resucitados], de nada les servirá el linaje, ni los parientes se preguntarán unos por otros.

فَمَن

Then (the one) whose

faman

ثَقُلَتْ

(are) heavy

thaqulat

مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

his scales

mawāzīnuhu

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

then those

fa-ulāika

هُمُ

they

humu

ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

(are) the successful

l-muf'liḥūna

١٠٢

[Ese día] aquellos cuyas buenas obras pesen más en la balanza serán los bienaventurados.

وَمَنْ

But (the one) whose

waman

خَفَّتْ

(are) light

khaffat

مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

his scales

mawāzīnuhu

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

then those

fa-ulāika

ٱلَّذِينَ

they [who]

alladhīna

خَسِرُوٓا۟

have lost

khasirū

أَنفُسَهُمْ

their souls

anfusahum

فِى

in

fī

جَهَنَّمَ

Hell

jahannama

خَـٰلِدُونَ

they (will) abide forever

khālidūna

١٠٣

En cambio, aquellos cuyas malas obras sean las que más pesen, estarán perdidos y morarán en el Infierno por toda la eternidad.

Will burn

talfaḥu

وُجُوهَهُمُ

their faces

wujūhahumu

ٱلنَّارُ

the Fire

l-nāru

وَهُمْ

and they

wahum

فِيهَا

in it

fīhā

كَـٰلِحُونَ

(will) grin with displaced lips

kāliḥūna

١٠٤

El fuego abrasará sus rostros y quedarán desfigurados.

Were not

alam

تَكُنْ

Were not

takun

ءَايَـٰتِى

My Verses

āyātī

تُتْلَىٰ

recited

tut'lā

عَلَيْكُمْ

to you

ʿalaykum

فَكُنتُم

and you used (to)

fakuntum

بِهَا

deny them

bihā

تُكَذِّبُونَ

deny them

tukadhibūna

١٠٥

[Se les dirá:] “¿Acaso no se os recitaron Mis versículos y los desmentisteis?”

قَالُوا۟

They (will) say

qālū

رَبَّنَا

Our Lord

rabbanā

غَلَبَتْ

Overcame

ghalabat

عَلَيْنَا

[on] us

ʿalaynā

شِقْوَتُنَا

our wretchedness

shiq'watunā

وَكُنَّا

and we were

wakunnā

قَوْمًۭا

a people

qawman

ضَآلِّينَ

astray

ḍāllīna

١٠٦

Dirán: “¡Señor nuestro! Estábamos dominados por nuestras pasiones, éramos gente extraviada.

رَبَّنَآ

Our Lord

rabbanā

أَخْرِجْنَا

Bring us out

akhrij'nā

مِنْهَا

from it

min'hā

فَإِنْ

then if

fa-in

عُدْنَا

we return

ʿud'nā

فَإِنَّا

then indeed, we

fa-innā

ظَـٰلِمُونَ

(would be) wrongdoers

ẓālimūna

١٠٧

¡Señor nuestro! Sácanos de él [y retórnanos a la vida], y si reincidimos [en la incredulidad] entonces sí seremos injustos”.

قَالَ

He (will) say

qāla

ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟

Remain despised

ikh'saū

فِيهَا

in it

fīhā

وَلَا

and (do) not

walā

تُكَلِّمُونِ

speak to Me

tukallimūni

١٠٨

Dios les dirá: “Permaneced en él [humillados], y no volváis a hablarme”.

إِنَّهُۥ

Indeed

innahu

كَانَ

(there) was

kāna

فَرِيقٌۭ

a party

farīqun

مِّنْ

of

min

عِبَادِى

My slaves

ʿibādī

يَقُولُونَ

(who) said

yaqūlūna

رَبَّنَآ

Our Lord

rabbanā

ءَامَنَّا

We believe

āmannā

فَٱغْفِرْ

so forgive

fa-igh'fir

لَنَا

us

lanā

وَٱرْحَمْنَا

and have mercy on us

wa-ir'ḥamnā

وَأَنتَ

and You

wa-anta

خَيْرُ

(are) best

khayru

ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

(of) those who show mercy

l-rāḥimīna

١٠٩

Algunos de Mis siervos decían: “¡Señor nuestro! Somos creyentes, perdónanos y ten misericordia de nosotros. Tú eres el mejor de los misericordiosos”.

فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ

But you took them

fa-ittakhadhtumūhum

سِخْرِيًّا

(in) mockery

sikh'riyyan

حَتَّىٰٓ

until

ḥattā

أَنسَوْكُمْ

they made you forget

ansawkum

ذِكْرِى

My remembrance

dhik'rī

وَكُنتُم

and you used (to)

wakuntum

مِّنْهُمْ

at them

min'hum

تَضْحَكُونَ

laugh

taḍḥakūna

١١٠

Pero vosotros [oh, incrédulos y pecadores] los tomasteis a burla hasta olvidaros de Mi Mensaje, y os reíais de ellos.

Indeed, I

innī

جَزَيْتُهُمُ

have rewarded them

jazaytuhumu

ٱلْيَوْمَ

this Day

l-yawma

بِمَا

because

bimā

صَبَرُوٓا۟

they were patient

ṣabarū

أَنَّهُمْ

indeed, they

annahum

هُمُ

[they]

humu

ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ

(are) the successful ones

l-fāizūna

١١١

Hoy los recompensaré [a los creyentes] por su paciencia [con vuestra hostilidad], y ellos serán los bienaventurados.

He will say

لَبِثْتُمْ

فِى

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the earth

عَدَدَ

(in) number

سِنِينَ

(of) years

sinīna

١١٢

Dios les preguntará: “¿Cuántos años habéis permanecido en la Tierra?”

قَالُوا۟

They will say

لَبِثْنَا

We remained

labith'nā

يَوْمًا

a day

yawman

أَوْ

or

aw

بَعْضَ

a part

baʿḍa

يَوْمٍۢ

(of) a day

yawmin

فَسْـَٔلِ

but ask

fasali

ٱلْعَآدِّينَ

those who keep count

l-ʿādīna

١١٣

Responderán: “Permanecimos un día o menos aún. Mejor pregúntale a los [los ángeles] encargados de llevar la cuenta [pues no estamos seguros]”.

He will say

إِن

Not

لَّبِثْتُمْ

you stayed

labith'tum

إِلَّا

but

illā

قَلِيلًۭا ۖ

a little

qalīlan

لَّوْ

law

أَنَّكُمْ

only you

annakum

كُنتُمْ

[you]

kuntum

تَعْلَمُونَ

knew

taʿlamūna

١١٤

Dios les dirá: “No permanecieron sino poco tiempo. ¡Si tan solo hubieran sabido!

أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ

Then did you think

afaḥasib'tum

أَنَّمَا

that

annamā

خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ

We created you

khalaqnākum

عَبَثًۭا

uselessly

ʿabathan

وَأَنَّكُمْ

and that you

wa-annakum

إِلَيْنَا

to Us

ilaynā

لَا

not

lā

تُرْجَعُونَ

will be returned

tur'jaʿūna

١١٥

¿Acaso creían que los creé sin ningún sentido? ¿Creían que no iban a comparecer ante Mí?

فَتَعَـٰلَى

So exalted is

fataʿālā

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

ٱلْمَلِكُ

the King

l-maliku

ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ

the Truth

l-ḥaqu

لَآ

(There is) no

lā

إِلَـٰهَ

god

ilāha

إِلَّا

except

illā

هُوَ

Him

huwa

رَبُّ

(the) Lord

rabbu

ٱلْعَرْشِ

(of) the Throne

l-ʿarshi

ٱلْكَرِيمِ

Honorable

l-karīmi

١١٦

¡Exaltado sea Dios! El único Soberano real, no hay otra divinidad salvo Él, Señor del noble Trono.

وَمَن

And whoever

waman

يَدْعُ

invokes

yadʿu

مَعَ

with

maʿa

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

l-lahi

إِلَـٰهًا

god

ilāhan

ءَاخَرَ

other

ākhara

لَا

no

lā

بُرْهَـٰنَ

proof

bur'hāna

لَهُۥ

for him

lahu

بِهِۦ

in it

bihi

فَإِنَّمَا

Then only

fa-innamā

حِسَابُهُۥ

his account

ḥisābuhu

عِندَ

(is) with

ʿinda

رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ

his Lord

rabbihi

إِنَّهُۥ

Indeed, [he]

innahu

لَا

not

lā

يُفْلِحُ

will succeed

yuf'liḥu

ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ

the disbelievers

l-kāfirūna

١١٧

[Sabed que] quien invoque a otros [dioses] junto a Dios carece de fundamentos válidos, y tendrá que rendir cuenta de ello ante su Señor. Los que se negaron a creer no triunfarán [el Día del Juicio].

And say

waqul

رَّبِّ

My Lord

rabbi

ٱغْفِرْ

Forgive

igh'fir

وَٱرْحَمْ

and have mercy

wa-ir'ḥam

وَأَنتَ

and You

wa-anta

خَيْرُ

(are the) Best

khayru

ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

(of) those who show mercy

l-rāḥimīna

١١٨

Di [¡Oh, Muhámmad!, enseñando a los creyentes]: “¡Señor mío! Perdona y ten misericordia. Tú eres el mejor de los misericordiosos”.
