La revelación de este Libro proviene de Dios, el Poderoso, el que todo lo

El Perdonador de los pecados, el que acepta el arrepentimiento, es severo en el castigo y es generoso al conceder Sus gracias. No hay otra divinidad salvo Él, y ante Él han de comparecer.

ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ

the cities

l-bilādi

No disputan los signos de Dios sino los que se niegan a creer. Que no te deslumbre la aparente prosperidad de sus negocios en la ciudad, ya que

أُمَّةٍۭ

nation

ummatin

بِرَسُولِهِمْ

against their Messenger

birasūlihim

لِيَأْخُذُوهُ ۖ

to seize him

liyakhudhūhu

وَجَـٰدَلُوا۟

and they disputed

wajādalū

بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ

by falsehood

bil-bāṭili

لِيُدْحِضُوا۟

to refute

liyud'ḥiḍū

بِهِ

thereby

bihi

ٱلْحَقَّ

the truth

l-ḥaqa

فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ

So I seized them

fa-akhadhtuhum

فَكَيْفَ

Then how

fakayfa

كَانَ

was

kāna

عِقَابِ

My penalty

ʿiqābi

٥

antes que ellos el pueblo de Noé y los aliados también habían desmentido [el Mensaje]. Toda nación se complotó contra su Mensajero. Le discutían con argumentos falsos para destruir la Verdad, y por eso los castigué. ¡Qué terrible fue Mi castigo!

And thus

has been justified

رَبِّكَ

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

كَفَرُوٓا۟

disbelieved

أَنَّهُمْ

that they

annahum

أَصْحَـٰبُ

(are) companions

aṣḥābu

ٱلنَّارِ

(of) the Fire

l-nāri

Así fue como se cumplió el designio de tu Señor sobre los que se negaron a creer: que ellos serían los moradores del Fuego.

Those who

ٱلْعَرْشَ

the Throne

وَمَنْ

يُسَبِّحُونَ

glorify

yusabbiḥūna

بِحَمْدِ

(the) praises

biḥamdi

رَبِّهِمْ

(of) their Lord

rabbihim

وَيُؤْمِنُونَ

and believe

wayu'minūna

بِهِۦ

in Him

bihi

وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ

and ask forgiveness

wayastaghfirūna

لِلَّذِينَ

for those who

lilladhīna

ءَامَنُوا۟

believe

āmanū

رَبَّنَا

Our Lord

rabbanā

وَسِعْتَ

You encompass

wasiʿ'ta

كُلَّ

all

kulla

شَىْءٍۢ

things

shayin

رَّحْمَةًۭ

(by Your) Mercy

raḥmatan

وَعِلْمًۭا

and knowledge

waʿil'man

فَٱغْفِرْ

so forgive

fa-igh'fir

لِلَّذِينَ

those who

lilladhīna

تَابُوا۟

repent

tābū

وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟

and follow

wa-ittabaʿū

سَبِيلَكَ

Your Way

sabīlaka

وَقِهِمْ

and save them (from)

waqihim

عَذَابَ

(the) punishment

ʿadhāba

ٱلْجَحِيمِ

(of) the Hellfire

l-jaḥīmi

٧

Los [ángeles] que portan el Trono, y los que están a su alrededor, glorifican con alabanzas a su Señor, creen en Él y piden el perdón para los creyentes diciendo: “¡Señor nuestro! Tú lo abarcas todo con Tu misericordia y sabiduría. Perdona a quienes se arrepienten y siguen Tu camino, y presérvalos del castigo del Fuego.

Our Lord

وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ

And admit them

wa-adkhil'hum

جَنَّـٰتِ

(to) Gardens

jannāti

عَدْنٍ

(of) Eden

ʿadnin

ٱلَّتِى

which

allatī

وَعَدتَّهُمْ

You have promised them

waʿadttahum

وَمَن

and whoever

waman

صَلَحَ

(was) righteous

ṣalaḥa

مِنْ

among

min

ءَابَآئِهِمْ

their fathers

ābāihim

وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ

and their spouses

wa-azwājihim

وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِهِمْ ۚ

and their offspring

wadhurriyyātihim

إِنَّكَ

Indeed You

innaka

أَنتَ

You

anta

ٱلْعَزِيزُ

(are) the All-Mighty

l-ʿazīzu

ٱلْحَكِيمُ

the All-Wise

l-ḥakīmu

٨

¡Señor nuestro! Introdúcelos en los Jardines del Edén que les prometiste, junto a sus padres, esposas y descendientes que fueron piadosos y creyentes. Tú eres el Poderoso, el Sabio.

And protect them

ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ

(from) the evils

وَمَن

And whoever

تَقِ

you protect

taqi

ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

that Day

yawma-idhin

فَقَدْ

then verily

faqad

رَحِمْتَهُۥ ۚ

You have bestowed mercy on him

raḥim'tahu

وَذَٰلِكَ

And that

wadhālika

هُوَ

[it]

huwa

ٱلْفَوْزُ

(is) the success

l-fawzu

ٱلْعَظِيمُ

the great

l-ʿaẓīmu

٩

Presérvalos de cometer pecados. Tú te apiadarás, cuando llegue el Día del Juicio, de aquel que haya sido preservado de cometer pecados. Ese será el triunfo grandioso”.

مَّقْتِكُمْ

your hatred

أَنفُسَكُمْ

(of) yourselves

إِذْ

when

تُدْعَوْنَ

you were called

tud'ʿawna

إِلَى

to

ilā

ٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ

the faith

l-īmāni

فَتَكْفُرُونَ

and you disbelieved

fatakfurūna

١٠

Pero a los que se negaron a creer se les dirá: “La aversión de Dios por vosotros es mayor que el odio que sentiréis por vosotros mismos [al ser arrojados al Fuego], ya que fuisteis invitados a la fe pero la rechazasteis”.

They (will) say

Our Lord

أَمَتَّنَا

You gave us death

ٱثْنَتَيْنِ

وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا

and You gave us life

wa-aḥyaytanā

ٱثْنَتَيْنِ

twice

ith'natayni

فَٱعْتَرَفْنَا

and we confess

fa-iʿ'tarafnā

بِذُنُوبِنَا

our sins

bidhunūbinā

فَهَلْ

So is (there)

fahal

إِلَىٰ

to

ilā

خُرُوجٍۢ

get out

khurūjin

مِّن

any

min

سَبِيلٍۢ

way

sabīlin

١١

Dirán: “¡Señor nuestro! Nos diste la muerte dos veces y nos diste la vida dos veces, reconocemos nuestros pecados; ¿existe alguna forma de salir [del castigo del Infierno]?”

Alone

waḥdahu

كَفَرْتُمْ ۖ

you disbelieved

وَإِن

but if

wa-in

يُشْرَكْ

(others) were associated

yush'rak

بِهِۦ

with Him

bihi

تُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚ

you believed

tu'minū

فَٱلْحُكْمُ

So the judgment

fal-ḥuk'mu

لِلَّهِ

(is) with Allah

lillahi

ٱلْعَلِىِّ

the Most High

l-ʿaliyi

ٱلْكَبِيرِ

the Most Great

l-kabīri

١٢

[Se les dirá:] “Este tormento es porque, cuando se os invitó a adorar a un Dios Único, no creísteis; pero cuando se os invitaba a dedicarle actos de adoración a otros [ídolos] junto a Dios, entonces sí creísteis. El juicio corresponde a Dios, el Sublime, el Supremo.

رِزْقًۭا ۚ

provision

وَمَا

But (does) not

يَتَذَكَّرُ

take heed

yatadhakkaru

إِلَّا

except

illā

مَن

(one) who

man

يُنِيبُ

turns

yunību

Él es Quien os muestra Sus signos y os envía la lluvia del cielo como sustento, pero no reflexiona en ello sino quien retorna [a Dios] arrepentido.

ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ

the disbelievers

Invocad a Dios y adoradlo con sinceridad, aunque eso disguste a los que se niegan a creer.

ٱلتَّلَاقِ

(of) the Meeting

l-talāqi

١٥

Él posee los atributos más sublimes, Señor del Trono. Concede la revelación con Su Mensaje a quien Él quiere de Sus siervos, para que adviertan sobre el día de la comparecencia.

this Day

لِلَّهِ

For Allah

ٱلْوَٰحِدِ

the One

l-wāḥidi

ٱلْقَهَّارِ

the Irresistible

l-qahāri

١٦

Ese día saldrán [de las tumbas] y nada estará oculto a Dios. [Él preguntará:] “¿Quién es el soberano hoy?” [Y Él mismo responderá:] “Solo Dios, el Único, el Victorioso”.

Hoy cada alma será juzgada por lo que haya realizado. Hoy no se cometerá injusticia alguna. Dios es rápido en ajustar cuentas.

And warn them

for the wrongdoers

مِنْ

any

حَمِيمٍۢ

intimate friend

ḥamīmin

وَلَا

and no

walā

شَفِيعٍۢ

intercessor

shafīʿin

يُطَاعُ

(who) is obeyed

yuṭāʿu

١٨

Adviérteles [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] sobre la inminencia del Día [del Juicio], donde los corazones se les subirán hasta las gargantas por la angustia. Los que cometieron injusticias no tendrán ningún amigo ni intercesor que sea escuchado.

Dios juzga con la verdad, y los que invocan en lugar de Él no pueden juzgar nada. Dios todo lo oye, todo lo ve.

وَءَاثَارًۭا

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land

l-arḍi

فَأَخَذَهُمُ

but Allah seized them

fa-akhadhahumu

ٱللَّهُ

but Allah seized them

l-lahu

بِذُنُوبِهِمْ

for their sins

bidhunūbihim

وَمَا

and not

wamā

كَانَ

was

kāna

لَهُم

for them

lahum

مِّنَ

against

mina

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

l-lahi

مِن

any

min

وَاقٍۢ

protector

wāqin

٢١

¿Acaso no viajan por el mundo y observan cuál fue el final de sus antecesores? Tenían más poder y dejaron más vestigios sobre la Tierra [que vosotros], pero Dios les castigó [destruyéndoles] por sus pecados, y nadie pudo protegerles de Dios.

ذَٰلِكَ

That

dhālika

بِأَنَّهُمْ

(was) because [they]

bi-annahum

كَانَت

used to come to them

kānat

تَّأْتِيهِمْ

used to come to them

tatīhim

رُسُلُهُم

their Messengers

rusuluhum

بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ

with clear proofs

bil-bayināti

فَكَفَرُوا۟

but they disbelieved

fakafarū

فَأَخَذَهُمُ

So Allah seized them

fa-akhadhahumu

ٱللَّهُ ۚ

So Allah seized them

l-lahu

إِنَّهُۥ

Indeed, He

innahu

قَوِىٌّۭ

(is) All-Strong

qawiyyun

شَدِيدُ

severe

shadīdu

ٱلْعِقَابِ

(in) punishment

l-ʿiqābi

٢٢

Esto [fue lo que merecieron] porque se les presentaron sus Mensajeros con las pruebas claras, pero los rechazaron y entonces Dios les castigó. Él es Fortísimo y severo al castigar.

And certainly

walaqad

أَرْسَلْنَا

We sent

arsalnā

مُوسَىٰ

Musa

mūsā

بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا

with Our Signs

biāyātinā

وَسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ

and an authority

wasul'ṭānin

مُّبِينٍ

clear

mubīnin

٢٣

Envié a Moisés con Mis signos y pruebas evidentes.

To

ilā

فِرْعَوْنَ

Firaun

fir'ʿawna

وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ

Haman

wahāmāna

وَقَـٰرُونَ

and Qarun

waqārūna

فَقَالُوا۟

but they said

faqālū

سَـٰحِرٌۭ

A magician

sāḥirun

كَذَّابٌۭ

a liar

kadhābun

٢٤

[Le envié] ante el Faraón, Hamán y Qarún, pero le dijeron: “Eres un hechicero mentiroso”.

فَلَمَّا

Then when

falammā

جَآءَهُم

he brought to them

jāahum

بِٱلْحَقِّ

the truth

bil-ḥaqi

مِنْ

from

عِندِنَا

Us

ʿindinā

قَالُوا۟

they said

qālū

ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟

Kill

uq'tulū

أَبْنَآءَ

(the) sons

abnāa

ٱلَّذِينَ

(of) those who

alladhīna

ءَامَنُوا۟

believe

āmanū

مَعَهُۥ

with him

maʿahu

وَٱسْتَحْيُوا۟

and let live

wa-is'taḥyū

نِسَآءَهُمْ ۚ

their women

nisāahum

وَمَا

And not

wamā

كَيْدُ

(is the) plot

kaydu

ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

(of) the disbelievers

l-kāfirīna

إِلَّا

but

illā

فِى

in

fī

ضَلَـٰلٍۢ

error

ḍalālin

٢٥

Pero cuando se les presentó con Mi Verdad, dijeron: “Maten a los hijos de quienes creyeron en él, y dejen con vida a sus mujeres”. Pero los planes de los incrédulos fueron en vano.

And said

فِرْعَوْنُ

Firaun

fir'ʿawnu

ذَرُونِىٓ

Leave me

dharūnī

أَقْتُلْ

(so that) I kill

aqtul

مُوسَىٰ

Musa

mūsā

وَلْيَدْعُ

and let him call

walyadʿu

رَبَّهُۥٓ ۖ

his Lord

rabbahu

إِنِّىٓ

Indeed, I

innī

أَخَافُ

[I] fear

akhāfu

أَن

that

an

يُبَدِّلَ

he will change

yubaddila

دِينَكُمْ

your religion

dīnakum

أَوْ

or

aw

أَن

that

an

يُظْهِرَ

he may cause to appear

yuẓ'hira

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land

l-arḍi

ٱلْفَسَادَ

the corruption

l-fasāda

٢٦

Dijo el Faraón [con soberbia]: “Dejadme, yo mataré a Moisés, y que invoque a su Señor [para que me lo impida]; temo que cambie vuestra religión o que siembre la corrupción en la Tierra”.

And said

مُوسَىٰٓ

Musa

mūsā

إِنِّى

Indeed, I

innī

عُذْتُ

[I] seek refuge

ʿudh'tu

بِرَبِّى

in my Lord

birabbī

وَرَبِّكُم

and your Lord

warabbikum

مِّن

from

min

كُلِّ

every

kulli

مُتَكَبِّرٍۢ

arrogant one

mutakabbirin

لَّا

not

lā

يُؤْمِنُ

who believes

yu'minu

بِيَوْمِ

(in the) Day

biyawmi

ٱلْحِسَابِ

(of) the Account

l-ḥisābi

٢٧

Dijo Moisés: “Me amparo en mi Señor y el vuestro, de todo arrogante que no crea en el Día del Juicio”.

And said

رَجُلٌۭ

a man

مُّؤْمِنٌۭ

believing

mu'minun

مِّنْ

ءَالِ

(the) family

فِرْعَوْنَ

(of) Firaun

يَكْتُمُ

who conceal(ed)

yaktumu

إِيمَـٰنَهُۥٓ

his faith

īmānahu

أَتَقْتُلُونَ

Will you kill

ataqtulūna

رَجُلًا

a man

rajulan

أَن

because

an

يَقُولَ

he says

yaqūla

رَبِّىَ

My Lord

rabbiya

ٱللَّهُ

(is) Allah

l-lahu

وَقَدْ

and indeed

waqad

جَآءَكُم

he has brought you

jāakum

بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ

clear proofs

bil-bayināti

مِن

from

min

رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ

your Lord

rabbikum

وَإِن

And if

wa-in

يَكُ

he is

yaku

كَـٰذِبًۭا

a liar

kādhiban

فَعَلَيْهِ

then upon him

faʿalayhi

كَذِبُهُۥ ۖ

(is) his lie

kadhibuhu

وَإِن

and if

wa-in

يَكُ

he is

yaku

صَادِقًۭا

truthful

ṣādiqan

يُصِبْكُم

(there) will strike you

yuṣib'kum

بَعْضُ

some (of)

baʿḍu

ٱلَّذِى

(that) which

alladhī

يَعِدُكُمْ ۖ

he threatens you

yaʿidukum

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

لَا

(does) not

lā

يَهْدِى

guide

yahdī

مَنْ

(one) who

man

هُوَ

[he]

huwa

مُسْرِفٌۭ

(is) a transgressor

mus'rifun

كَذَّابٌۭ

a liar

kadhābun

٢٨

Dijo un hombre creyente de la familia del Faraón, que ocultaba su fe: “¿Vais a matar a un hombre solo porque dice: ‘Dios es mi Señor’, siendo que os ha presentado milagros de vuestro Señor? Si se trata de un mentiroso, sobre él recaerá su mentira; pero si dice la verdad, os azotará una parte del castigo con los que os amenaza. Dios no guía a quien se extralimita y miente.

O my people

yāqawmi

لَكُمُ

For you

lakumu

ٱلْمُلْكُ

(is) the kingdom

l-mul'ku

ٱلْيَوْمَ

today

l-yawma

ظَـٰهِرِينَ

dominant

ẓāhirīna

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land

l-arḍi

فَمَن

but who

faman

يَنصُرُنَا

will help us

yanṣurunā

مِنۢ

from

min

بَأْسِ

(the) punishment

basi

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

إِن

if

in

جَآءَنَا ۚ

it came to us

jāanā

قَالَ

Said

qāla

فِرْعَوْنُ

Firaun

fir'ʿawnu

مَآ

Not

mā

أُرِيكُمْ

I show you

urīkum

إِلَّا

except

illā

مَآ

what

mā

أَرَىٰ

I see

arā

وَمَآ

and not

wamā

أَهْدِيكُمْ

I guide you

ahdīkum

إِلَّا

except

illā

سَبِيلَ

(to the) path

sabīla

ٱلرَّشَادِ

the right

l-rashādi

٢٩

¡Oh, pueblo mío! A vosotros os pertenece el reino hoy, y sois quienes domináis en la tierra [de Egipto]. ¿Pero quién os defenderá del castigo de Dios, si Él lo desencadena sobre nosotros?” Dijo el Faraón: “No os propongo sino lo que considero correcto, y no os guío sino por el buen camino”.

And said

waqāla

ٱلَّذِىٓ

(he) who

ءَامَنَ

believed

āmana

يَـٰقَوْمِ

O my people

yāqawmi

إِنِّىٓ

Indeed I

أَخَافُ

[I] fear

akhāfu

عَلَيْكُم

for you

ʿalaykum

مِّثْلَ

like

mith'la

يَوْمِ

(the) day

yawmi

ٱلْأَحْزَابِ

(of) the companies

l-aḥzābi

٣٠

Pero dijo el hombre que creía [de la familia del Faraón]: “¡Oh, pueblo mío! Temo que os ocurra lo mismo que a los aliados [incrédulos que se complotaron contra sus Mensajeros],

Like

دَأْبِ

(the) plight

قَوْمِ

(of the) people

نُوحٍۢ

(of) Nuh

nūḥin

وَعَادٍۢ

and Aad

waʿādin

وَثَمُودَ

and Thamud

wathamūda

وَٱلَّذِينَ

and those

wa-alladhīna

مِنۢ

after them

min

بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ

after them

baʿdihim

وَمَا

And Allah (does) not

wamā

ٱللَّهُ

And Allah (does) not

l-lahu

يُرِيدُ

want

yurīdu

ظُلْمًۭا

injustice

ẓul'man

لِّلْعِبَادِ

for (His) slaves

lil'ʿibādi

٣١

como ocurrió al pueblo de Noé, ‘Ad y Zamud, y los que les sucedieron [que fueron aniquilados]. Dios no es injusto con Sus siervos.

وَيَـٰقَوْمِ

And O my people

wayāqawmi

إِنِّىٓ

Indeed, I

أَخَافُ

[I] fear

عَلَيْكُمْ

for you

ʿalaykum

يَوْمَ

ٱلتَّنَادِ

(of) Calling

l-tanādi

٣٢

¡Oh, pueblo mío! Temo que [seáis castigados] el día de la convocatoria.

A Day

you will turn back

مُدْبِرِينَ

fleeing

مِنْ

any

عَاصِمٍۢ ۗ

protector

ʿāṣimin

وَمَن

And whoever

waman

يُضْلِلِ

Allah lets go astray

yuḍ'lili

ٱللَّهُ

Allah lets go astray

l-lahu

فَمَا

then not

famā

لَهُۥ

for him

lahu

مِنْ

any

min

هَادٍۢ

guide

hādin

٣٣

Ese día pretenderéis huir, pero no tendréis quien os proteja del castigo de Dios. Sabed que a quien Dios abandona en el desvío, no habrá nadie que le pueda guiar”.

And indeed

جَآءَكُمْ

came to you

Yusuf

مِن

قَبْلُ

بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ

فَمَا

but not

famā

زِلْتُمْ

you ceased

zil'tum

فِى

fī

شَكٍّۢ

doubt

shakkin

مِّمَّا

about what

mimmā

جَآءَكُم

he brought to you

jāakum

بِهِۦ ۖ

[with it]

bihi

حَتَّىٰٓ

until

ḥattā

إِذَا

when

idhā

هَلَكَ

he died

halaka

قُلْتُمْ

you said

qul'tum

لَن

Never

lan

يَبْعَثَ

will Allah raise

yabʿatha

ٱللَّهُ

will Allah raise

l-lahu

مِنۢ

after him

min

بَعْدِهِۦ

after him

baʿdihi

رَسُولًۭا ۚ

a Messenger

rasūlan

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

kadhālika

يُضِلُّ

Allah lets go astray

yuḍillu

ٱللَّهُ

Allah lets go astray

l-lahu

مَنْ

who

man

هُوَ

[he]

huwa

مُسْرِفٌۭ

(is) a transgressor

mus'rifun

مُّرْتَابٌ

a doubter

mur'tābun

٣٤

Se os presentó [el profeta] José antes [que el profeta Moisés] con milagros evidentes, pero vosotros permanecisteis dudando sobre lo que os mostró [y no creísteis], hasta que cuando murió, dijisteis: “Dios no enviará ningún Mensajero después de él”. Así extravía Dios a quien excede los límites y duda [de Su Mensaje],

ٱلَّذِينَ

Those who

alladhīna

يُجَـٰدِلُونَ

dispute

yujādilūna

فِىٓ

concerning

fī

ءَايَـٰتِ

(the) Signs

āyāti

ٱللَّهِ

بِغَيْرِ

without

bighayri

سُلْطَـٰنٍ

any authority

sul'ṭānin

أَتَىٰهُمْ ۖ

(having) come to them

atāhum

كَبُرَ

(it) is greatly

kabura

مَقْتًا

hateful

maqtan

عِندَ

near Allah

ʿinda

ٱللَّهِ

near Allah

l-lahi

وَعِندَ

and near

waʿinda

ٱلَّذِينَ

those

alladhīna

ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ

who believe

āmanū

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

kadhālika

يَطْبَعُ

Allah sets a seal

yaṭbaʿu

ٱللَّهُ

Allah sets a seal

l-lahu

عَلَىٰ

over

ʿalā

كُلِّ

every

kulli

قَلْبِ

heart

qalbi

مُتَكَبِّرٍۢ

(of) an arrogant

mutakabbirin

جَبَّارٍۢ

tyrant

jabbārin

٣٥

los que discuten los milagros de Dios sin haber recibido un argumento válido, por lo que acrecientan la aversión de Dios y de los creyentes hacia ellos. Así es como Dios sella el corazón de todo arrogante, opresor.

And said

فِرْعَوْنُ

Firaun

fir'ʿawnu

يَـٰهَـٰمَـٰنُ

O Haman

yāhāmānu

ٱبْنِ

Construct

ib'ni

لِى

for me

lī

صَرْحًۭا

a tower

ṣarḥan

لَّعَلِّىٓ

that I may

laʿallī

أَبْلُغُ

reach

ablughu

ٱلْأَسْبَـٰبَ

the ways

l-asbāba

٣٦

Dijo el Faraón: “¡Oh, Hamán! Constrúyeme una torre para que pueda ascender.

أَسْبَـٰبَ

(The) ways

asbāba

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

(to) the heavens

l-samāwāti

فَأَطَّلِعَ

so I may look

fa-aṭṭaliʿa

إِلَىٰٓ

at

ilā

إِلَـٰهِ

(the) God

ilāhi

مُوسَىٰ

(of) Musa

mūsā

وَإِنِّى

and indeed, I

wa-innī

لَأَظُنُّهُۥ

[I] surely think him

la-aẓunnuhu

كَـٰذِبًۭا ۚ

(to be) a liar

kādhiban

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

And thus

wakadhālika

زُيِّنَ

was made fair-seeming

zuyyina

لِفِرْعَوْنَ

to Firaun

lifir'ʿawna

سُوٓءُ

(the) evil

sūu

عَمَلِهِۦ

(of) his deed

ʿamalihi

وَصُدَّ

and he was averted

waṣudda

عَنِ

from

ʿani

ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ

the way

l-sabīli

وَمَا

And not

wamā

كَيْدُ

(was the) plot

kaydu

فِرْعَوْنَ

(of) Firaun

fir'ʿawna

إِلَّا

except

illā

فِى

in

fī

تَبَابٍۢ

ruin

tabābin

٣٧

Ascender a los cielos y ver a quién adora Moisés, aunque creo que [Moisés] miente”. Así fue como [el demonio] le hizo ver al Faraón como buenas sus malas acciones, y logró que se extraviara completamente. Los planes del Faraón fracasaron.

And said

ٱلَّذِىٓ

يَـٰقَوْمِ

O my people

yāqawmi

ٱتَّبِعُونِ

Follow me

ittabiʿūni

أَهْدِكُمْ

I will guide you

ahdikum

سَبِيلَ

(to the) way

sabīla

ٱلرَّشَادِ

the right

l-rashādi

٣٨

Dijo el [hombre] creyente [de la familia del Faraón]: “¡Oh, pueblo mío! Seguidme, que os guiaré por el camino recto.

O my people

yāqawmi

إِنَّمَا

Only

innamā

هَـٰذِهِ

this

hādhihi

ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ

the life

l-ḥayatu

ٱلدُّنْيَا

(of) the world

l-dun'yā

مَتَـٰعٌۭ

(is) enjoyment

matāʿun

وَإِنَّ

and indeed

wa-inna

ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ

the Hereafter

l-ākhirata

هِىَ

it

hiya

دَارُ

(is the) home

dāru

ٱلْقَرَارِ

(of) settlement

l-qarāri

٣٩

¡Oh, pueblo mío! En esta vida mundanal hay solo placeres temporales, mientras que la otra vida es la morada de la eternidad.

مَنْ

Whoever

man

عَمِلَ

does

ʿamila

سَيِّئَةًۭ

an evil

sayyi-atan

فَلَا

then not

falā

يُجْزَىٰٓ

he will be recompensed

yuj'zā

إِلَّا

but

illā

مِثْلَهَا ۖ

(the) like thereof

mith'lahā

وَمَنْ

and whoever

waman

عَمِلَ

does

ʿamila

صَـٰلِحًۭا

righteous (deeds)

ṣāliḥan

مِّن

of

min

ذَكَرٍ

male

dhakarin

أَوْ

or

aw

أُنثَىٰ

female

unthā

وَهُوَ

while he

wahuwa

مُؤْمِنٌۭ

(is) a believer

mu'minun

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

then those

fa-ulāika

يَدْخُلُونَ

will enter

yadkhulūna

ٱلْجَنَّةَ

Paradise

l-janata

يُرْزَقُونَ

they will be given provision

yur'zaqūna

فِيهَا

in it

fīhā

بِغَيْرِ

without

bighayri

حِسَابٍۢ

account

ḥisābin

٤٠

Quien haga una maldad, será castigado acorde a lo cometido, pero quien haga obras buenas y sea creyente, varón o mujer, ingresará al Paraíso y será recompensado sin medida.

And O my people

wayāqawmi

مَا

What (is)

لِىٓ

for me

أَدْعُوكُمْ

(that) I call you

adʿūkum

إِلَى

to

ilā

ٱلنَّجَوٰةِ

the salvation

l-najati

وَتَدْعُونَنِىٓ

while you call me

watadʿūnanī

إِلَى

to

ilā

ٱلنَّارِ

the Fire

l-nāri

٤١

¡Oh, pueblo mío! ¿Qué sucede que os invito a la salvación y vosotros me invitáis al Infierno?

You call me

لِأَكْفُرَ

that I disbelieve

بِٱللَّهِ

in Allah

وَأُشْرِكَ

and (to) associate

with Him

bihi

مَا

what

mā

لَيْسَ

not

laysa

لِى

for me

lī

بِهِۦ

of it

bihi

عِلْمٌۭ

any knowledge

ʿil'mun

وَأَنَا۠

and I

wa-anā

أَدْعُوكُمْ

call you

adʿūkum

إِلَى

to

ilā

ٱلْعَزِيزِ

the All-Mighty

l-ʿazīzi

ٱلْغَفَّـٰرِ

the Oft-Forgiving

l-ghafāri

٤٢

Me proponéis negar la unicidad de Dios y que dedique actos de adoración a otros [ídolos], pero no tengo conocimiento [de que algo merezca ser adorado salvo Él]. Yo os invito a creer en el Poderoso, el Perdonador.

a claim

ٱلدُّنْيَا

the world

l-dun'yā

وَلَا

and not

walā

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

the Hereafter

l-ākhirati

وَأَنَّ

and that

wa-anna

مَرَدَّنَآ

our return

maraddanā

إِلَى

(is) to

ilā

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

l-lahi

وَأَنَّ

and that

wa-anna

ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

the transgressors

l-mus'rifīna

هُمْ

they

hum

أَصْحَـٰبُ

(will be the) companions

aṣḥābu

ٱلنَّارِ

(of) the Fire

l-nāri

٤٣

No hay duda de que aquello a lo que me invitáis carece de fundamento en esta vida y en la otra; todos compareceremos ante Dios, y quienes exceden los límites serán los moradores del Infierno.

فَسَتَذْكُرُونَ

And you will remember

fasatadhkurūna

مَآ

what

mā

أَقُولُ

I say

aqūlu

لَكُمْ ۚ

to you

lakum

وَأُفَوِّضُ

and I entrust

wa-ufawwiḍu

أَمْرِىٓ

my affair

amrī

إِلَى

to

ilā

ٱللَّهِ ۚ

Allah

l-lahi

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

بَصِيرٌۢ

(is) All-Seer

baṣīrun

بِٱلْعِبَادِ

of (His) slaves

bil-ʿibādi

٤٤

Ya os acordaréis de esto que os digo, pero [me refugio en Dios y] confío mis asuntos a Él. Dios ve bien lo que hacen Sus siervos”.

So Allah protected him

Dios le protegió de las maldades que tramaron contra él, mientras que el Faraón y sus seguidores fueron azotados por un castigo terrible.

The Fire

they are exposed

غُدُوًّۭا

وَعَشِيًّۭا ۖ

and evening

waʿashiyyan

وَيَوْمَ

And (the) Day

wayawma

تَقُومُ

(will be) established

taqūmu

ٱلسَّاعَةُ

the Hour

l-sāʿatu

أَدْخِلُوٓا۟

Cause to enter

adkhilū

ءَالَ

(the) people

āla

فِرْعَوْنَ

(of) Firaun

fir'ʿawna

أَشَدَّ

(in the) severest

ashadda

ٱلْعَذَابِ

punishment

l-ʿadhābi

٤٦

[En la tumba] el fuego les alcanzará por la mañana y por la tarde, pero el día que llegue la Hora [del Juicio, se les ordenará a los ángeles:] “Arread al Faraón y sus seguidores al castigo más severo”.

And when

يَتَحَآجُّونَ

they will dispute

فِى

ٱلنَّارِ

the Fire

فَيَقُولُ

then will say

fayaqūlu

ٱلضُّعَفَـٰٓؤُا۟

the weak

l-ḍuʿafāu

لِلَّذِينَ

to those who

lilladhīna

ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟

were arrogant

is'takbarū

إِنَّا

Indeed, we

innā

كُنَّا

[we] were

kunnā

لَكُمْ

for you

lakum

تَبَعًۭا

followers

tabaʿan

فَهَلْ

so can

fahal

أَنتُم

you

antum

مُّغْنُونَ

avert

mugh'nūna

عَنَّا

from us

ʿannā

نَصِيبًۭا

a portion

naṣīban

مِّنَ

of

mina

ٱلنَّارِ

the Fire

l-nāri

٤٧

Cuando [los incrédulos] discutan en el Infierno, dirán los más débiles a los soberbios [líderes de la incredulidad]: “Nosotros hemos sido vuestros seguidores, ¿no podéis librarnos de una parte del [castigo del] Infierno?”

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟

(were) arrogant

إِنَّا

Indeed, we

كُلٌّۭ

(are) in it

fīhā

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

قَدْ

certainly

qad

حَكَمَ

has judged

ḥakama

بَيْنَ

between

bayna

ٱلْعِبَادِ

(His) slaves

l-ʿibādi

٤٨

Dirán los soberbios: “Todos nosotros estamos [siendo castigados] en él, Dios juzgó entre Sus siervos [y nadie puede aminorar el tormento]”.

And will say

لِخَزَنَةِ

to (the) keepers

jahannama

ٱدْعُوا۟

Call

id'ʿū

رَبَّكُمْ

your Lord

rabbakum

يُخَفِّفْ

(to) lighten

yukhaffif

عَنَّا

for us

ʿannā

يَوْمًۭا

a day

yawman

مِّنَ

of

mina

ٱلْعَذَابِ

the punishment

l-ʿadhābi

٤٩

Quienes están en el tormento dirán a los [ángeles] guardianes del Infierno: “Rogad a vuestro Señor para que nos alivie el castigo [aunque sea] un solo día”.

come to you

رُسُلُكُم

your Messengers

بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ ۖ

with clear proofs

bil-bayināti

قَالُوا۟

They (will) say

qālū

بَلَىٰ ۚ

Yes

balā

قَالُوا۟

They (will) say

qālū

فَٱدْعُوا۟ ۗ

Then call

fa-id'ʿū

وَمَا

but not

wamā

دُعَـٰٓؤُا۟

(is the) call

duʿāu

ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

(of) the disbelievers

l-kāfirīna

إِلَّا

except

illā

فِى

in

fī

ضَلَـٰلٍ

error

ḍalālin

٥٠

Dirán [los ángeles]: “¿Acaso no se os presentaron Mensajeros con milagros evidentes?” Responderán: “Claro que sí [pero no les creímos]”. Les dirán entonces [los ángeles]: “Rogad vosotros”, pero las súplicas de los que se negaron a creer serán en vano.

Indeed We

We will surely help

رُسُلَنَا

Our Messengers

rusulanā

وَٱلَّذِينَ

and those who

wa-alladhīna

ءَامَنُوا۟

فِى

fī

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

the life

l-ḥayati

ٱلدُّنْيَا

(of) the world

l-dun'yā

وَيَوْمَ

and (on the) Day

wayawma

يَقُومُ

(when) will stand

yaqūmu

ٱلْأَشْهَـٰدُ

the witnesses

l-ashhādu

٥١

Les daré Mi socorro a Mis Mensajeros y a los creyentes en esta vida y también en el Día del Juicio, cuando comparezcan los [ángeles] testigos.

ٱللَّعْنَةُ

(is) the curse

وَلَهُمْ

and for them

سُوٓءُ

(is the) worst

En ese día no les beneficiarán las excusas a los que cometieron injusticias, serán maldecidos y tendrán la peor morada.

And certainly

We gave

Musa

ٱلْهُدَىٰ

the guidance

وَأَوْرَثْنَا

and We caused to inherit

بَنِىٓ

(the) Children of Israel

banī

إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

(the) Children of Israel

is'rāīla

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

the Book

l-kitāba

٥٣

Concedí a Moisés la guía, e hice que los Hijos de Israel heredaran el Libro [de la Torá],

A guide

وَذِكْرَىٰ

and a reminder

wadhik'rā

لِأُو۟لِى

for those

li-ulī

ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ

(of) understanding

فَٱصْبِرْ

So be patient

fa-iṣ'bir

إِنَّ

indeed

وَعْدَ

(the) Promise of Allah

waʿda

ٱللَّهِ

(the) Promise of Allah

l-lahi

حَقٌّۭ

(is) true

ḥaqqun

وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ

And ask forgiveness

wa-is'taghfir

لِذَنۢبِكَ

for your sin

lidhanbika

وَسَبِّحْ

and glorify

wasabbiḥ

بِحَمْدِ

(the) praise

biḥamdi

رَبِّكَ

(of) your Lord

rabbika

بِٱلْعَشِىِّ

in the evening

bil-ʿashiyi

وَٱلْإِبْكَـٰرِ

and the morning

wal-ib'kāri

٥٥

Sé paciente y perseverante, porque la promesa de Dios es verdadera; pide el perdón de tus faltas y glorifica con alabanzas a tu Señor por la tarde y al amanecer.

Indeed

inna

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

يُجَـٰدِلُونَ

dispute

yujādilūna

فِىٓ

concerning

fī

ءَايَـٰتِ

(the) Signs

āyāti

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

بِغَيْرِ

without

bighayri

سُلْطَـٰنٍ

any authority

sul'ṭānin

أَتَىٰهُمْ ۙ

(which) came to them

atāhum

إِن

not

in

فِى

(is) in

fī

صُدُورِهِمْ

their breasts

ṣudūrihim

إِلَّا

but

illā

كِبْرٌۭ

greatness

kib'run

مَّا

not

mā

هُم

they

hum

بِبَـٰلِغِيهِ ۚ

(can) reach it

bibālighīhi

فَٱسْتَعِذْ

So seek refuge

fa-is'taʿidh

بِٱللَّهِ ۖ

in Allah

bil-lahi

إِنَّهُۥ

Indeed He

innahu

هُوَ

He

huwa

ٱلسَّمِيعُ

(is) the All-Hearer

l-samīʿu

ٱلْبَصِيرُ

the All-Seer

l-baṣīru

٥٦

[Los que se niegan a creer] discuten los milagros de Dios sin pruebas válidas, porque sus corazones están colmados de soberbia, y sabe que no lograrán sus propósitos [de vencerte, ¡Oh, Muhámmad!]. Refúgiate en Dios, Él todo lo oye, todo lo ve.

لَخَلْقُ

Surely, (the) creation

lakhalqu

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

(of) the heavens

l-samāwāti

وَٱلْأَرْضِ

and the earth

wal-arḍi

أَكْبَرُ

(is) greater

akbaru

مِنْ

than

min

خَلْقِ

(the) creation

khalqi

ٱلنَّاسِ

(of) the mankind

l-nāsi

وَلَـٰكِنَّ

but

walākinna

أَكْثَرَ

most

akthara

ٱلنَّاسِ

(of) the people

l-nāsi

لَا

(do) not

lā

يَعْلَمُونَ

know

yaʿlamūna

٥٧

La creación de los cielos y de la Tierra es más grandiosa que la creación de los seres humanos, pero la mayoría de ellos lo ignoran.

وَمَا

And not

wamā

يَسْتَوِى

(are) equal

yastawī

ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ

the blind

l-aʿmā

وَٱلْبَصِيرُ

and the seeing

wal-baṣīru

وَٱلَّذِينَ

and those who

wa-alladhīna

ءَامَنُوا۟

believe

āmanū

وَعَمِلُوا۟

and do

waʿamilū

ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ

righteous deeds

l-ṣāliḥāti

وَلَا

and not

walā

ٱلْمُسِىٓءُ ۚ

the evildoer

l-musīu

قَلِيلًۭا

Little

qalīlan

مَّا

(is) what

mā

تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

you take heed

tatadhakkarūna

٥٨

No es propio comparar al que puede ver [la verdad] con quien no puede verla, ni comparar al creyente que obra rectamente con el perverso [que obra el mal]. ¡Qué poco reflexionan!

Indeed

the Hour

لَـَٔاتِيَةٌۭ

(is) surely coming

وَلَـٰكِنَّ

but

walākinna

أَكْثَرَ

most

ٱلنَّاسِ

(of) the people

l-nāsi

لَا

(do) not

lā

يُؤْمِنُونَ

believe

yu'minūna

٥٩

La hora [del Juicio] llegará, no hay duda sobre ello, aunque la mayoría de los seres humanos no crean.

And said

رَبُّكُمُ

your Lord

ٱدْعُونِىٓ

Call upon Me

id'ʿūnī

أَسْتَجِبْ

I will respond

لَكُمْ ۚ

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

(are) proud

yastakbirūna

عَنْ

to

ʿan

عِبَادَتِى

worship Me

ʿibādatī

سَيَدْخُلُونَ

will enter

sayadkhulūna

جَهَنَّمَ

Hell

jahannama

دَاخِرِينَ

(in) humiliation

dākhirīna

٦٠

Vuestro Señor dice: “Invocadme, que responderé [vuestras súplicas]”. Pero quienes por soberbia se nieguen a adorarme, ingresarán al Infierno humillados.

فِيهِ

وَٱلنَّهَارَ

and the day

wal-nahāra

مُبْصِرًا ۚ

giving visibility

mub'ṣiran

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

لَذُو

(is) Full (of) Bounty

ladhū

فَضْلٍ

(is) Full (of) Bounty

faḍlin

عَلَى

to

ʿalā

ٱلنَّاسِ

the people

l-nāsi

وَلَـٰكِنَّ

but

walākinna

أَكْثَرَ

most

akthara

ٱلنَّاسِ

(of) the people

l-nāsi

لَا

(do) not

lā

يَشْكُرُونَ

give thanks

yashkurūna

٦١

Dios es Quien creó la noche para que descanséis en ella, y el día luminoso para que podáis ver [y procurar el sustento]. Dios es el poseedor del favor inmenso que concede a los seres humanos, pero la mayoría no Le agradece.

That

ٱللَّهُ

(is) Allah

l-lahu

رَبُّكُمْ

your Lord

rabbukum

خَـٰلِقُ

(the) Creator

khāliqu

كُلِّ

شَىْءٍۢ

things

shayin

لَّآ

(there is) no

lā

إِلَـٰهَ

god

ilāha

إِلَّا

except

illā

هُوَ ۖ

Him

huwa

فَأَنَّىٰ

So how

fa-annā

تُؤْفَكُونَ

are you deluded

tu'fakūna

٦٢

Aquel [que os agracia] es Dios, vuestro Señor, el Creador de todas las cosas, no hay nada ni nadie con derecho a ser adorado salvo Él, ¿cómo es que rehusáis [adorarlo a Él y adoráis falsas divinidades]?

Thus

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

كَانُوا۟

بِـَٔايَـٰتِ

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

يَجْحَدُونَ

rejecting

yajḥadūna

٦٣

Así también fueron apartados [del camino recto] quienes rechazaron los signos de Dios.

and the sky

بِنَآءًۭ

a canopy

وَصَوَّرَكُمْ

and He formed you

waṣawwarakum

فَأَحْسَنَ

and perfected

fa-aḥsana

صُوَرَكُمْ

your forms

ṣuwarakum

وَرَزَقَكُم

and provided you

warazaqakum

مِّنَ

of

mina

ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ ۚ

the good things

l-ṭayibāti

ذَٰلِكُمُ

That

dhālikumu

ٱللَّهُ

(is) Allah

l-lahu

رَبُّكُمْ ۖ

your Lord

rabbukum

فَتَبَارَكَ

Then blessed (is)

fatabāraka

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

رَبُّ

(the) Lord

rabbu

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

(of) the worlds

l-ʿālamīna

٦٤

Dios es Quien ha hecho de la Tierra un lugar habitable y del cielo un techo, os dotó de una bella figura y os sustenta con cosas beneficiosas. Él es Dios, vuestro Señor. Bendito sea Dios, Señor del Universo.

(is) the Ever-Living

l-ḥayu

لَآ

(there is) no

lā

إِلَـٰهَ

god

إِلَّا

so call Him

fa-id'ʿūhu

مُخْلِصِينَ

(being) sincere

mukh'liṣīna

لَهُ

to Him

lahu

ٱلدِّينَ ۗ

(in) the religion

ٱلْحَمْدُ

All praise (be)

l-ḥamdu

لِلَّهِ

to Allah

lillahi

رَبِّ

(the) Lord

rabbi

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

(of) the worlds

l-ʿālamīna

٦٥

Él es el Viviente, no hay nada ni nadie con derecho a ser adorado salvo Él; invocadlo solamente a Él. Alabado sea Dios, Señor del universo.

you call

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

لَمَّا

lammā

جَآءَنِىَ

have come to me

jāaniya

ٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُ

the clear proofs

l-bayinātu

مِن

from

min

رَّبِّى

my Lord

rabbī

وَأُمِرْتُ

and I am commanded

wa-umir'tu

أَنْ

to

an

أُسْلِمَ

submit

us'lima

لِرَبِّ

to (the) Lord

lirabbi

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

(of) the worlds

l-ʿālamīna

٦٦

Diles [¡Oh, Muhámmad!]: “Me ha sido prohibido adorar a aquellos [ídolos] que invocáis en lugar de Dios, me han llegado milagros evidentes de mi Señor y se me ha ordenado someterme al Señor del universo.

(is) the One Who

خَلَقَكُم

created you

مِّن

تُرَابٍۢ

dust

ثُمَّ

a semen-drop

nuṭ'fatin

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

مِنْ

from

min

عَلَقَةٍۢ

a clinging substance

ʿalaqatin

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

يُخْرِجُكُمْ

He brings you out

yukh'rijukum

طِفْلًۭا

(as) a child

ṭif'lan

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟

lets you reach

litablughū

أَشُدَّكُمْ

your maturity

ashuddakum

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

لِتَكُونُوا۟

lets you become

litakūnū

شُيُوخًۭا ۚ

old

shuyūkhan

وَمِنكُم

and among you

waminkum

مَّن

(is he) who

man

يُتَوَفَّىٰ

dies

yutawaffā

مِن

before

min

قَبْلُ ۖ

before

qablu

وَلِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟

and lets you reach

walitablughū

أَجَلًۭا

a term

ajalan

مُّسَمًّۭى

specified

musamman

وَلَعَلَّكُمْ

and that you may

walaʿallakum

تَعْقِلُونَ

use reason

taʿqilūna

٦٧

Él es Quien os creó del polvo, y después de un óvulo fecundado que se transforma en un embrión, luego os hace surgir [al mundo] como niños para que alcancéis la madurez, y luego os hace llegar a ancianos, aunque algunos fallecen antes, y así se cumple el plazo de vida que se os había prefijado para que reflexionéis.

ٱلَّذِى

(is) the One Who

يُحْىِۦ

gives life

yuḥ'yī

وَيُمِيتُ ۖ

and causes death

فَإِذَا

And when

He decrees

qaḍā

أَمْرًۭا

a matter

amran

فَإِنَّمَا

then only

fa-innamā

يَقُولُ

He says

yaqūlu

لَهُۥ

to it

lahu

كُن

Be

kun

فَيَكُونُ

and it is

fayakūnu

٦٨

Él es Quien da la vida y da la muerte, y cuando decreta algo dice: “¡Sé!”, y es.

they are turned away

¿Acaso no observaste [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] a quienes discuten los milagros de Dios, cómo se desvían?

Those who

كَذَّبُوا۟

deny

بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

the Book

bil-kitābi

وَبِمَآ

and with what

wabimā

أَرْسَلْنَا

We sent

arsalnā

بِهِۦ

with it

bihi

رُسُلَنَا ۖ

Our Messengers

rusulanā

فَسَوْفَ

but soon

fasawfa

يَعْلَمُونَ

they will know

yaʿlamūna

٧٠

Quienes desmienten el Libro [revelado] y lo que he enviado junto a Mis Mensajeros ya sabrán [el castigo que les aguarda],

ٱلْأَغْلَـٰلُ

the iron collars

فِىٓ

(will be) around

أَعْنَـٰقِهِمْ

their necks

aʿnāqihim

وَٱلسَّلَـٰسِلُ

and the chains

wal-salāsilu

يُسْحَبُونَ

they will be dragged

yus'ḥabūna

cuando se les coloquen argollas en sus cuellos y sean arriados con cadenas

the boiling water

al agua hirviendo, y luego ardan en el fuego.

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

kadhālika

يُضِلُّ

Allah lets go astray

yuḍillu

ٱللَّهُ

Allah lets go astray

l-lahu

ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

the disbelievers

l-kāfirīna

٧٤

junto a Dios?” Responderán: “Se desvanecieron. [Reconocemos que] no invocábamos en realidad a nada [que nos pueda beneficiar hoy]”. Así es como Dios deja que se desvíen los que se niegan a creer.

ذَٰلِكُم

That was

dhālikum

بِمَا

because

bimā

كُنتُمْ

you used to

kuntum

تَفْرَحُونَ

rejoice

tafraḥūna

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the earth

l-arḍi

بِغَيْرِ

without

bighayri

ٱلْحَقِّ

right

l-ḥaqi

وَبِمَا

and because

wabimā

كُنتُمْ

you used to

kuntum

تَمْرَحُونَ

be insolent

tamraḥūna

٧٥

[Los ángeles dirán:] “Este [castigo que recibís] es porque os regocijabais sin razón en la Tierra [siguiendo creencias falsas], y porque erais insolentes.

ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟

Enter

ud'khulū

أَبْوَٰبَ

(the) gates

abwāba

جَهَنَّمَ

(of) Hell

jahannama

خَـٰلِدِينَ

(to) abide forever

khālidīna

فِيهَا ۖ

in it

fīhā

فَبِئْسَ

and wretched is

fabi'sa

مَثْوَى

(the) abode

mathwā

ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ

(of) the arrogant

l-mutakabirīna

٧٦

Ingresad [al castigo] por las puertas del Infierno, donde permaneceréis por toda la eternidad”. ¡Qué pésima será la morada de los soberbios!

فَٱصْبِرْ

So be patient

fa-iṣ'bir

إِنَّ

indeed

inna

وَعْدَ

(the) Promise

waʿda

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

حَقٌّۭ ۚ

(is) true

ḥaqqun

فَإِمَّا

And whether

fa-immā

نُرِيَنَّكَ

We show you

nuriyannaka

بَعْضَ

some

baʿḍa

ٱلَّذِى

(of) what

alladhī

نَعِدُهُمْ

We have promised them

naʿiduhum

أَوْ

or

aw

نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ

We cause you to die

natawaffayannaka

فَإِلَيْنَا

then to Us

fa-ilaynā

يُرْجَعُونَ

they will be returned

yur'jaʿūna

٧٧

Sé paciente y perseverante [¡Oh, Muhámmad!], pues la promesa de Dios es verdadera. Sea que te muestre algo de lo que tengo preparado o que te haga morir [antes de que sean castigados], ante Mí comparecerán.

وَلَقَدْ

And certainly

walaqad

أَرْسَلْنَا

We have sent

arsalnā

رُسُلًۭا

Messengers

rusulan

مِّن

before you

min

قَبْلِكَ

before you

qablika

مِنْهُم

Among them

min'hum

مَّن

(are) who

man

قَصَصْنَا

We have related

qaṣaṣnā

عَلَيْكَ

to you

ʿalayka

وَمِنْهُم

and among them

wamin'hum

مَّن

(are) who

man

لَّمْ

not

lam

نَقْصُصْ

We have related

naqṣuṣ

عَلَيْكَ ۗ

to you

ʿalayka

وَمَا

And not

wamā

كَانَ

is

kāna

لِرَسُولٍ

for any Messenger

lirasūlin

أَن

that

an

يَأْتِىَ

he brings

yatiya

بِـَٔايَةٍ

a Sign

biāyatin

إِلَّا

except

illā

بِإِذْنِ

by (the) permission

bi-idh'ni

ٱللَّهِ ۚ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

فَإِذَا

So when

fa-idhā

جَآءَ

comes

jāa

أَمْرُ

(the) Command

amru

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

قُضِىَ

it will be decided

quḍiya

بِٱلْحَقِّ

in truth

bil-ḥaqi

وَخَسِرَ

and will lose

wakhasira

هُنَالِكَ

there

hunālika

ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ

the falsifiers

l-mub'ṭilūna

٧٨

He enviado otros Mensajeros antes que tú, de algunos de ellos te he relatado su historia, y de otros no te relaté su historia. Todo Mensajero que se presentó con algún milagro fue con la anuencia de Dios. Pero cuando llegue el designio de Dios, estarán perdidos los que atribuían falsedades [a Dios].

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

al-lahu

ٱلَّذِى

(is) the One Who

alladhī

جَعَلَ

made

jaʿala

لَكُمُ

for you

lakumu

ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمَ

the cattle

l-anʿāma

لِتَرْكَبُوا۟

that you may ride

litarkabū

مِنْهَا

some of them

min'hā

وَمِنْهَا

and some of them

wamin'hā

تَأْكُلُونَ

you eat

takulūna

٧٩

Dios es Quien creó para vosotros los rebaños, para que usarais como montura a algunos y de otros comierais.

وَلَكُمْ

And for you

walakum

فِيهَا

in them

fīhā

مَنَـٰفِعُ

(are) benefits

manāfiʿu

وَلِتَبْلُغُوا۟

and that you may reach

walitablughū

عَلَيْهَا

through them

ʿalayhā

حَاجَةًۭ

a need

ḥājatan

فِى

(that is) in

fī

صُدُورِكُمْ

your breasts

ṣudūrikum

وَعَلَيْهَا

and upon them

waʿalayhā

وَعَلَى

and upon

waʿalā

ٱلْفُلْكِ

the ships

l-ful'ki

تُحْمَلُونَ

you are carried

tuḥ'malūna

٨٠

Obtenéis de ellos otros beneficios, y podéis satisfacer mediante ellos vuestras necesidades [de viajar a zonas lejanas]. Sobre ellos [en los viajes terrestres] y en los barcos os transportáis.

وَيُرِيكُمْ

And He shows you

wayurīkum

ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ

His Signs

āyātihi

فَأَىَّ

Then which

fa-ayya

ءَايَـٰتِ

(of the) Signs

āyāti

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

تُنكِرُونَ

will you deny

tunkirūna

٨١

Dios os muestra Sus milagros [que prueban Su unicidad]. ¿Cuál de los milagros de Dios negaréis?

أَفَلَمْ

Do they not

afalam

يَسِيرُوا۟

travel

yasīrū

فِى

through

fī

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land

l-arḍi

فَيَنظُرُوا۟

and see

fayanẓurū

كَيْفَ

how

kayfa

كَانَ

was

kāna

عَـٰقِبَةُ

(the) end

ʿāqibatu

ٱلَّذِينَ

(of) those who

alladhīna

مِن

(were) before them

min

قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ

(were) before them

qablihim

كَانُوٓا۟

They were

kānū

أَكْثَرَ

more numerous

akthara

مِنْهُمْ

than them

min'hum

وَأَشَدَّ

and mightier

wa-ashadda

قُوَّةًۭ

(in) strength

quwwatan

وَءَاثَارًۭا

and impressions

waāthāran

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land

l-arḍi

فَمَآ

but not

famā

أَغْنَىٰ

availed

aghnā

عَنْهُم

them

ʿanhum

مَّا

what

mā

كَانُوا۟

they used to

kānū

يَكْسِبُونَ

earn

yaksibūna

٨٢

¿Acaso no viajan por el mundo y observan cuál fue el final de sus antecesores? Eran más numerosos que ellos, más poderosos, y dejaron más vestigios en la Tierra. Pero de nada les valió lo que poseían.

فَلَمَّا

Then when

falammā

جَآءَتْهُمْ

came to them

jāathum

رُسُلُهُم

their Messengers

rusuluhum

بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ

with clear proofs

bil-bayināti

فَرِحُوا۟

they rejoiced

fariḥū

بِمَا

in what

bimā

عِندَهُم

they had

ʿindahum

مِّنَ

of

mina

ٱلْعِلْمِ

the knowledge

l-ʿil'mi

وَحَاقَ

and enveloped

waḥāqa

بِهِم

them

bihim

مَّا

what

mā

كَانُوا۟

they used to

kānū

بِهِۦ

[at it]

bihi

يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

mock

yastahziūna

٨٣

Cuando se les presentaron sus Mensajeros con los milagros, se mostraron soberbios y orgullosos de [las creencias] que habían heredado [y no les creyeron]; entonces les fue enviado un castigo por haberse burlado.

فَلَمَّا

So when

falammā

رَأَوْا۟

they saw

ra-aw

بَأْسَنَا

Our punishment

basanā

قَالُوٓا۟

they said

qālū

ءَامَنَّا

We believe

āmannā

بِٱللَّهِ

in Allah

bil-lahi

وَحْدَهُۥ

Alone

waḥdahu

وَكَفَرْنَا

and we disbelieve

wakafarnā

بِمَا

in what

bimā

كُنَّا

we used to

kunnā

بِهِۦ

with Him

bihi

مُشْرِكِينَ

associate

mush'rikīna

٨٤

Pero al ver Mi castigo, dijeron: “Creemos solo en Dios, y renegamos de lo que adorábamos junto a Él”.

فَلَمْ

But did not

falam

يَكُ

But did not

yaku

يَنفَعُهُمْ

benefit them

yanfaʿuhum

إِيمَـٰنُهُمْ

their faith

īmānuhum

لَمَّا

when

lammā

رَأَوْا۟

they saw

ra-aw

بَأْسَنَا ۖ

Our punishment

basanā

سُنَّتَ

(Such is the) Way

sunnata

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

ٱلَّتِى

which

allatī

قَدْ

(has) indeed

qad

خَلَتْ

preceded

khalat

فِى

among

fī

عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ

His slaves

ʿibādihi

وَخَسِرَ

And are lost

wakhasira

هُنَالِكَ

there

hunālika

ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ

the disbelievers

l-kāfirūna

٨٥

Pero de nada les sirvió creer cuando vieron Mi castigo. Así es el designio de Dios, que alcanzó a quienes los precedieron. Los que se negaron a creer habrán perdido toda posibilidad [de salvación].
