So he followed fa-atbaʿa a course sababan
Until ḥattā when idhā he reached balagha (the) setting place maghriba (of) the sun l-shamsi he found it wajadahā setting taghrubu in fī a spring ʿaynin (of) dark mud ḥami-atin and he found wawajada near it ʿindahā a community qawman We said qul'nā O Dhul-qarnain yādhā O Dhul-qarnain l-qarnayni Either immā [that] an you punish tuʿadhiba or wa-immā [that] an you take tattakhidha [in] them fīhim (with) goodness ḥus'nan

But as for wa-ammā (one) who man believes āmana and does waʿamila righteous (deeds) ṣāliḥan then for him falahu (is) a reward jazāan good l-ḥus'nā And we will speak wasanaqūlu to him lahu from min our command amrinā (with) ease yus'ran

He said qāla What mā has established me makkannī [in it] fīhi my Lord rabbī (is) better khayrun but assist me fa-aʿīnūnī with strength biquwwatin I will make ajʿal between you baynakum and between them wabaynahum a barrier radman
