And if

We had made him

jaʿalnāhu

مَلَكًۭا

an Angel

لَّجَعَلْنَـٰهُ

certainly We (would) have made him

lajaʿalnāhu

رَجُلًۭا

a man

rajulan

وَلَلَبَسْنَا

and certainly We (would) have obscured

walalabasnā

عَلَيْهِم

to them

ʿalayhim

مَّا

what

mā

يَلْبِسُونَ

they are obscuring

yalbisūna

٩

Y si hubiera enviado a un ángel [en lugar de un hombre], le habría dado apariencia humana y estarían en una confusión similar a la que tienen contigo.

And indeed

ٱسْتُهْزِئَ

Messengers

مِّن

but surrounded

faḥāqa

بِٱلَّذِينَ

those who

bi-alladhīna

سَخِرُوا۟

scoffed

sakhirū

مِنْهُم

of them

min'hum

مَّا

what

mā

كَانُوا۟

they used to

kānū

بِهِۦ

[at it]

bihi

يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

mock

yastahziūna

Pero también se burlaron de otros Mensajeros anteriores a ti en la antigüedad. A los que se burlaron, les llegó el castigo del que se habían burlado.

Diles [¡Oh, Muhámmad!]: “Viajad por el mundo y reflexionad sobre cuál fue el destino de los que desmintieron [a los Mensajeros de Dios]”.

To whom (belongs)

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

the heavens

l-samāwāti

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ

and the earth

wal-arḍi

قُل

Say

qul

لِّلَّهِ ۚ

To Allah

lillahi

كَتَبَ

He has decreed

kataba

عَلَىٰ

upon

ʿalā

نَفْسِهِ

Himself

nafsihi

ٱلرَّحْمَةَ ۚ

the Mercy

l-raḥmata

لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ

Surely He will assemble you

layajmaʿannakum

إِلَىٰ

on

ilā

يَوْمِ

(the) Day

yawmi

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

(of) the Resurrection

l-qiyāmati

لَا

(there is) no

lā

رَيْبَ

doubt

rayba

فِيهِ ۚ

about it

fīhi

ٱلَّذِينَ

Those who

alladhīna

خَسِرُوٓا۟

have lost

khasirū

أَنفُسَهُمْ

themselves

anfusahum

فَهُمْ

then they

fahum

لَا

(do) not

lā

يُؤْمِنُونَ

believe

yu'minūna

١٢

Pregúntales [a los idólatras]: “¿A quién pertenece cuanto hay en los cielos y en la Tierra?” Diles: “A Dios”. Él ha prescrito para Sí mismo la misericordia. Él os reunirá el Día indubitable de la Resurrección, en el que solo serán desventurados quienes se hayan negado a creer.

And for Him

وَهُوَ

and He

wahuwa

ٱلسَّمِيعُ

(is) All-Hearing

ٱلْعَلِيمُ

All-Knowing

l-ʿalīmu

وَهُوَ

while (it is) He

wahuwa

يُطْعِمُ

Who feeds

yuṭ'ʿimu

وَلَا

and not

walā

يُطْعَمُ ۗ

He is fed

yuṭ'ʿamu

قُلْ

Say

qul

إِنِّىٓ

Indeed I

innī

أُمِرْتُ

[I] am commanded

umir'tu

أَنْ

that

an

أَكُونَ

I be

akūna

أَوَّلَ

(the) first

awwala

مَنْ

who

man

أَسْلَمَ ۖ

submits (to Allah)

aslama

وَلَا

and not

walā

تَكُونَنَّ

be

takūnanna

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

the polytheists

l-mush'rikīna

١٤

Diles: “¿Acaso voy a tomar como protector a otro en lugar de Dios, [siendo que Él es el] Originador de los cielos y la de Tierra, y Quien alimenta y no necesita ser alimentado?” Di: “Se me ha ordenado ser el primero en entregarse a la voluntad de Dios. No seáis de los que dedican actos de adoración a otros [además de Dios]”.

[I] fear

عَصَيْتُ

I disobeyed

ʿaṣaytu

رَبِّى

my Lord

rabbī

عَذَابَ

punishment

ʿadhāba

يَوْمٍ

(of) a Day

yawmin

عَظِيمٍۢ

Mighty

ʿaẓīmin

١٥

Di: “Temo el castigo de un día terrible si desobedezco a mi Señor”.

Whoever

يُصْرَفْ

is averted

yuṣ'raf

عَنْهُ

from it

ʿanhu

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

that Day

فَقَدْ

then surely

faqad

رَحِمَهُۥ ۚ

He had Mercy on him

raḥimahu

وَذَٰلِكَ

And that

wadhālika

ٱلْفَوْزُ

(is) the success

l-fawzu

ٱلْمُبِينُ

(the) clear

l-mubīnu

١٦

Quien sea eximido [del castigo] ese día, será porque Dios se ha apiadado de él, y ése será un triunfo evidente.

touches you

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

بِضُرٍّۢ

with affliction

biḍurrin

فَلَا

then no

falā

كَاشِفَ

remover

لَهُۥٓ

of it

lahu

إِلَّا

except

illā

هُوَ ۖ

Him

huwa

وَإِن

And if

wa-in

يَمْسَسْكَ

He touches you

yamsaska

بِخَيْرٍۢ

with good

bikhayrin

فَهُوَ

then He

fahuwa

عَلَىٰ

(is) on

ʿalā

كُلِّ

every

kulli

شَىْءٍۢ

thing

shayin

قَدِيرٌۭ

All-Powerful

qadīrun

١٧

Si Dios te aflige con una desgracia, nadie excepto Él podrá librarte de ella. Pero si te agracia con una bendición, Él tiene poder sobre todas las cosas.

(is) the Subjugator

فَوْقَ

عِبَادِهِۦ ۚ

His slaves

ʿibādihi

وَهُوَ

And He

ٱلْحَكِيمُ

(is) the All-Wise

l-ḥakīmu

ٱلْخَبِيرُ

the All-Aware

l-khabīru

١٨
