وَمَا And not wamā are alike yastawī the two seas l-baḥrāni This hādhā (is) fresh ʿadhbun sweet furātun pleasant sāighun its drink sharābuhu and this wahādhā salty mil'ḥun (and) bitter ujājun And from wamin each kullin you eat takulūna meat laḥman fresh ṭariyyan and you extract watastakhrijūna ornaments ḥil'yatan you wear them talbasūnahā and you see watarā the ships l-ful'ka in it fīhi cleaving mawākhira so that you may seek litabtaghū of min His Bounty faḍlihi and that you may walaʿallakum be grateful tashkurūna
Las dos masas de agua no son iguales: una es potable, dulce y agradable para beber; la otra es salobre. De ambas coméis carne fresca y obtenéis adornos con los que os engalanáis. Veis al barco atravesarlas para buscar Su favor: sed agradecidos [con Dios].
