ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

(of) the Book

l-kitābi

أُمَّةٌۭ

(is) a community

ummatun

قَآئِمَةٌۭ

standing

qāimatun

يَتْلُونَ

(and) reciting

yatlūna

ءَايَـٰتِ

(the) Verses

āyāti

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

ءَانَآءَ

(in the) hours

ānāa

ٱلَّيْلِ

(of) the night

al-layli

وَهُمْ

and they

wahum

يَسْجُدُونَ

prostrate

yasjudūna

١١٣

Pero no todos los de la Gente del Libro son iguales. Entre ellos hay quienes se mantienen fieles [a las enseñanzas originales, y al conocer el Islam lo siguen], pasan la noche recitando los versículos de Dios y prosternándose.

يُؤْمِنُونَ

They believe

yu'minūna

بِٱللَّهِ

in Allah

bil-lahi

وَٱلْيَوْمِ

and the Day

wal-yawmi

ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ

the Last

l-ākhiri

وَيَأْمُرُونَ

and they enjoin

wayamurūna

بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ

[with] the right

bil-maʿrūfi

وَيَنْهَوْنَ

and forbid

wayanhawna

عَنِ

[from]

ʿani

ٱلْمُنكَرِ

the wrong

l-munkari

وَيُسَـٰرِعُونَ

and they hasten

wayusāriʿūna

فِى

in

fī

ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ

the good deeds

l-khayrāti

وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

And those

wa-ulāika

مِنَ

(are) from

mina

ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

the righteous

l-ṣāliḥīna

١١٤

Creen en Dios y en el Día del Juicio Final, ordenan el bien, prohíben el mal y se apresuran a realizar buenas obras. Ésos se contarán entre los virtuosos.

And whatever

يَفْعَلُوا۟

they do

مِنْ

فَلَن

يُكْفَرُوهُ ۗ

will they be denied it

وَٱللَّهُ

And Allah

wal-lahu

عَلِيمٌۢ

(is) All-Knowing

ʿalīmun

بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

of the God-fearing

bil-mutaqīna

١١٥

El bien que hayan hecho antes de adoptar el Islam no será desmerecido. Dios conoce bien a los piadosos.

أَوْلَـٰدُهُم

مِّنَ

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

l-lahi

شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ

anything

shayan

وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

and those

wa-ulāika

أَصْحَـٰبُ

(are the) companions

aṣḥābu

ٱلنَّارِ ۚ

(of) the Fire

l-nāri

هُمْ

they

hum

فِيهَا

in it

fīhā

خَـٰلِدُونَ

(will) abide forever

khālidūna

١١٦

En cambio, a los que rechacen la verdad, ni sus riquezas ni sus hijos les servirán de nada ante Dios. Serán condenados al Infierno, donde morarán eternamente.

ظَلَمُوٓا۟

who wronged

أَنفُسَهُمْ

themselves

anfusahum

فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ

then destroyed it

fa-ahlakathu

وَمَا

And not

wamā

ظَلَمَهُمُ

(has) wronged them

ẓalamahumu

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

وَلَـٰكِنْ

[and] but

walākin

أَنفُسَهُمْ

themselves

anfusahum

يَظْلِمُونَ

they wronged

yaẓlimūna

١١٧

[De nada les servirán] las caridades que hacen en esta vida mundanal [porque la incredulidad las destruye] como un viento frío que azota una cosecha de gente que ha sido injusta, y la destruye. Pero Dios no ha sido injusto con ellos, sino que ellos lo han sido consigo mismos.
