أَوَلَمْ Have not awalam they traveled yasīrū in fī the earth l-arḍi and observed fayanẓurū how kayfa was kāna (the) end ʿāqibatu (of) those alladhīna before them min before them qablihim They were kānū mightier ashadda than them min'hum (in) strength quwwatan and they dug wa-athārū the earth l-arḍa and built (on) it waʿamarūhā more akthara than what mimmā they have built (on) it ʿamarūhā And came (to) them wajāathum their Messengers rusuluhum with clear proofs bil-bayināti So not famā was kāna Allah l-lahu to wrong them liyaẓlimahum but walākin they were kānū themselves anfusahum (doing) wrong yaẓlimūna
¿Acaso no han viajado por el mundo y visto cómo fue el final de los pueblos antiguos? Eran [imperios] más poderosos, cultivaron la tierra [en forma asombrosa] y tenían construcciones más avanzadas que las vuestras. Sin embargo, cuando se les presentaron los Mensajeros con las evidencias, los desmintieron. Dios no fue injusto con ellos, sino que ellos lo fueron consigo mismos.
