وَإِن And if wa-in they deny you yukadhibūka so verily faqad denied kadhabat before them qablahum (the) people qawmu (of) Nuh nūḥin and Aad waʿādun and Thamud wathamūdu
Si te desmienten [¡Oh, Muhámmad!], sabe que ya antes habían desmentido los pueblos de Noé, ‘Ad, Zamud,
وَقَوْمُ And (the) people waqawmu (of) Ibrahim ib'rāhīma and (the) people waqawmu (of) Lut lūṭin
de Abraham, Lot,
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ And the inhabitants wa-aṣḥābu (of) Madyan madyana And Musa was denied wakudhiba And Musa was denied mūsā so I granted respite fa-amlaytu to the disbelievers lil'kāfirīna then thumma I seized them akhadhtuhum and how fakayfa was kāna My punishment nakīri
los habitantes de Madián, y también fue desmentido Moisés. Les concedí un plazo a los que se negaban a creer, pero luego los sorprendí. ¡Qué terrible fue Mi castigo!
فَكَأَيِّن And how many faka-ayyin of min a township qaryatin We have destroyed it ahlaknāhā while it wahiya was doing wrong ẓālimatun so it fahiya fell khāwiyatun on ʿalā its roofs ʿurūshihā and well wabi'rin abandoned muʿaṭṭalatin and castle waqaṣrin lofty mashīdin
¡Cuántas ciudades he aniquilado porque eran injustas y opresoras! Quedaron reducidas a ruinas, sus pozos secos y sus castillos derrumbados.
أَفَلَمْ So have not afalam they traveled yasīrū in fī the land l-arḍi and is fatakūna for them lahum hearts qulūbun (to) reason yaʿqilūna with it bihā or aw ears ādhānun (to) hear yasmaʿūna with it bihā For indeed, [it] fa-innahā not lā (are) blinded taʿmā the eyes l-abṣāru but walākin (are) blinded taʿmā the hearts l-qulūbu which allatī (are) in fī the breasts l-ṣudūri
¿Acaso [los que se niegan a creer] no viajan por el mundo, y no tienen intelecto para reflexionar, ni oídos? No son sus ojos los que están ciegos, sino los corazones que están dentro de sus pechos [los que están ciegos].
