وَتَٱللَّهِ And by Allah watal-lahi surely, I will plan la-akīdanna (against) your idols aṣnāmakum after baʿda [that] an you go away tuwallū turning (your) backs mud'birīna
Juro por Dios que voy a tramar algo contra vuestros ídolos cuando os hayáis retirado”.
فَجَعَلَهُمْ So he made them fajaʿalahum (into) pieces judhādhan except illā a large (one) kabīran of them lahum so that they may laʿallahum to it ilayhi return yarjiʿūna
Y los hizo pedazos excepto al más grande, para que su atención se volviera sobre él.
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū Who man (has) done faʿala this hādhā to our gods biālihatinā Indeed, he innahu (is) of lamina the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
Exclamaron: “¿Quién ha sido capaz de hacer esto con nuestros dioses? Sin duda se trata de un malhechor”.
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū We heard samiʿ'nā a youth fatan mention them yadhkuruhum he is called yuqālu he is called lahu Ibrahim ib'rāhīmu
Alguien dijo: “Oímos a un joven, llamado Abraham, hablar [mal] de ellos”.
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū Then bring fatū him bihi before ʿalā (the) eyes aʿyuni (of) the people l-nāsi so that they may laʿallahum bear witness yashhadūna
Dijeron: “Traedlo a la vista de la gente, para que puedan atestiguar [contra él]”.
قَالُوٓا۟ They said qālū Have you a-anta done faʿalta this hādhā to our gods biālihatinā O Ibrahim yāib'rāhīmu
Le dijeron: “¡Oh, Abraham! ¿Has sido tú quien ha destruido nuestros dioses?”
قَالَ He said qāla Nay bal (some doer) did it faʿalahu Their chief kabīruhum (is) this hādhā So ask them fasalūhum if in they (can) kānū speak yanṭiqūna
Respondió: “¡Ha sido ese, el mayor de todos! Preguntadle [a vuestros dioses], si es que ellos son capaces [al menos] de hablar”.
