وَٱذْكُرْ And mention wa-udh'kur in fī the Book l-kitābi Ibrahim ib'rāhīma Indeed, he innahu was kāna a man of truth ṣiddīqan a Prophet nabiyyan
Nárrales [¡Oh, Muhámmad!] la historia de Abraham que se menciona en el Libro. Era un hombre veraz, un Profeta.
إِذْ When idh he said qāla to his father li-abīhi O my father yāabati Why lima (do) you worship taʿbudu that which mā not lā hears yasmaʿu and not walā sees yub'ṣiru and not walā benefits yugh'nī [to] you ʿanka (in) anything shayan
Cuando [Abraham] dijo a su padre: “¡Oh, padre mío! ¿Por qué adoras a lo que no oye ni ve ni puede beneficiarte en absoluto?
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ O my father yāabati Indeed, [I] innī verily qad (has) come to me jāanī of mina the knowledge l-ʿil'mi what mā not lam came to you yatika so follow me fa-ittabiʿ'nī I will guide you ahdika (to) the path ṣirāṭan even sawiyyan
¡Oh, padre mío! Se me ha revelado un conocimiento que tú no tienes. Sígueme, y te guiaré por el sendero recto.
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ O my father yāabati (Do) not lā worship taʿbudi the Shaitaan l-shayṭāna Indeed inna the Shaitaan l-shayṭāna is kāna to the Most Gracious lilrraḥmāni disobedient ʿaṣiyyan
¡Oh, padre mío! No adores al demonio, porque el demonio fue desobediente con el Compasivo.
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ O my father yāabati Indeed, I innī [I] fear akhāfu that an will touch you yamassaka a punishment ʿadhābun from mina the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni so you would be fatakūna to the Shaitaan lilshayṭāni a friend waliyyan
¡Oh, padre mío! Temo que te alcance un castigo del Compasivo y seas de los que acompañen al demonio [al Infierno]”.
